Chapter 261 Yvette Moved Out

When Yvette said that her voice wavered a bit. She clenched her fists, but her face stayed calm, her eyes full of determination.

Albert's back stiffened, his expression froze for a couple of seconds, his lips pressed tight, and a mix of emotions flashed in his eyes. Finally, he said with a hint of annoyance, "Don't talk angry."

Yvette tilted her head slightly. "I'm not angry. This is my only request."

As long as they never saw each other again, her child would be safe. She wouldn't have to fear him forcing her to have an abortion, nor worry about him taking custody of the child.

Albert frowned, a shadow crossing his eyes. He stared at Yvette. "I want to make it up to you, not have you use this to spite me."

Albert pressed his lips together. "Yvette, I'm giving you another chance. Think it over carefully. Don't be unreasonable."

"Even if you gave me a hundred chances, this would still be my request." Yvette's smile faded, and she said seriously, "You asked me to make a request, and I hope you can fulfill it."

Yvette lifted her eyelids. "If possible, draft the divorce agreement, and I'll sign it right away."

Hearing the words "divorce agreement," Albert's frown deepened, his Adam's apple bobbed slightly, but he didn't respond.

Yvette blinked, holding back those useless emotions.

After being tangled up with Albert for so many years, it was time to end it.

Yvette pressed on, trying to cover the bitterness in her chest. "When will we handle the paperwork? Can it be tomorrow or the day after? The day after is Friday, and City Hall is closed on weekends."

Albert's aura darkened, emotions swirling deep in his eyes.

He hadn't anticipated Yvette's eagerness to divorce him, her impatience to dissolve their marriage.

Albert squinted slightly, his voice cold. "In such a hurry? Is staying married to me that unbearable?"

"Yes," Yvette replied. "Very unbearable."

Albert's face instantly turned stern, his thin lips pressed into a straight line.

"Fine." After saying that, he turned and left.

After going through the complex procedures, the divorce was scheduled for the following Tuesday.

After signing the divorce agreement, Yvette knew her days at the Valdemar Villa were over.

She had thought that always packing her belongings in a suitcase would make moving out easier, but when it came time to pack, she found she had more things than she could fit in one suitcase.

Yvette smiled bitterly. She had given up on Albert, so she might as well give up on these belongings too.

Yvette packed the items she had cleared out into a cardboard box and moved it downstairs, asking the maid to throw it away.

The maid was a bit surprised. "Mrs. Valdemar, these things are still quite good, some are even newly bought. Why are you throwing them away?"

Yvette shook her head, hinting at something. "If it's hard to carry, then I don't need it."

Before Yvette finished speaking, Cheryl, who was coming downstairs, overheard.

Cheryl immediately sensed something was wrong and frowned. "Yvette, where are you going?"

Yvette was stunned. She hadn't figured out how to tell Cheryl, fearing she wouldn't accept it, Yvette instinctively lied. "I just want to go out and play for a few days."

Yvette's eyes flickered, and Cheryl saw through it at a glance. "If it's just a short break, you wouldn't need your luggage. Yvette, are you moving out of the Valdemar Villa?"

Yvette's eyes darkened a bit, her throat tight, and she admitted, "Yeah, I'm sorry, Grandma, Albert and I are getting a divorce."

Cheryl's smile froze. "Yvette, don't joke with me."

Yvette, on the verge of tears, said, "I'm really sorry, Grandma, but it's true. We're getting a divorce."

Cheryl's smile vanished, and she looked at Yvette intently. "What exactly happened?"

"It doesn't matter anymore." Yvette held Cheryl's hand, sincerely saying goodbye. "I'm leaving this time, and I might never get to see you again. Please take care of yourself."

Vincent was pretty conflicted about when to give Albert the signed divorce agreement.

Recent events had put Albert in a bad mood, making everyone in the company anxious. However, the divorce agreement couldn't be delayed any longer, prompting Vincent to muster up the courage to present it to him.

After much thought, Vincent placed the divorce agreement in front of Albert when he finally relaxed a bit after signing a major deal.

"You didn't sign it last time when you gave it to Mrs. Valdemar," Vincent said cautiously. "If you sign it now, you can get the divorce certificate next Tuesday."

Albert's previously softened expression immediately turned cold again.

Vincent felt a bit panicked, thinking he had chosen the wrong time.

Albert took the agreement and signed it without hesitation.

Recently, those targeting him had become more aggressive. The sooner he sent Yvette away, the safer she would be.

Vincent asked, "Mr. Valdemar, have you explained everything clearly to Mrs. Valdemar?"

Hearing this, Albert frowned. He had planned to explain the seriousness of the situation to Yvette when he gave her the divorce agreement, but she had immediately asked for a divorce.

Albert, displeased, said, "Ignore her for a few days first."

Vincent replied, "Understood."

Albert glanced at his watch. He had work to do in the evening, but now he had no desire to stay at the office.

He got up and drove to the Valdemar Villa.

It was rush hour, and the road was a bit congested. Looking at the row of red taillights, Albert's face darkened.

For two days, he still couldn't understand why Yvette suddenly wanted a divorce.

Even though he had to divorce her to protect her, why did she bring it up first?

Could she have seen something?

Albert slowly exhaled, thinking Yvette was just acting on impulse. How could she really want a divorce?

He still needed to explain to her that this was just a fake divorce.

Never see each other again? What nonsense.

As the evening sun set, Albert's car drove straight into the Valdemar Villa. As he got out, a strong sense of oppression enveloped him.

Albert frowned and walked in, only to see Cheryl and a maid serving tea.

Cheryl's expression was indifferent, and she didn't even look up when he returned.

Albert looked around. "Where's Yvette?"

Cheryl paused as she lifted her cup to drink tea, her eyelids trembling slightly, but she didn't speak.

Albert asked again, "Where did she go? I need to talk to her."

Before Albert finished speaking, a porcelain cup filled with hot tea was thrown at him with Cheryl's anger.

He instinctively dodged, but Cheryl's anger only intensified. "How dare you dodge?"

The next cup was already thrown, and this time Albert didn't dare dodge. The porcelain cup hit his chest heavily, making him grunt in pain.

Cheryl shouted, "Albert, you got married and divorced without discussing it with the family. You have some nerve!"

Albert paused. "Did she complain?"

"Complain? If only it were that simple!" Cheryl's eyes reddened. "She moved out!"

Albert was stunned. "Yvette moved out?"
