Chapter 91 Necklace 2

Violet's eyes widened in shock, her lips turning pale. She watched helplessly as Albert collapsed right in front of her, unable to catch him in time.

Albert, tall and sturdy, hit the ground hard.

Violet jumped from her chair, crouched down, shook him, and shouted, "Albert! Albert!"

The usually aloof boy lay there in pain, his brows furrowed, seemingly unable to hear her cries.

Panicking, Violet yelled, "Someone help! We need to get him to the clinic!"

The clinic was all white, filled with the strong smell of disinfectant.

As long as Albert slept, Violet stayed by his side. The teacher tried to get her to return to class several times, but she refused.

Then, there was a sound from the bed. Albert moved and slowly opened his eyes. Violet stood up, excited.

"You're awake!"

Her voice trembled with tears of joy.

Albert, still a bit dazed, looked at her without speaking.

Maybe due to another wave of pain, he raised his long fingers to press his temples and slowly sat up.

Seeing him try to get up, Violet quickly reached out to help him.

Albert propped himself up with his arms, and as Violet watched his well-defined muscles, her heart began to race.

At that moment, Albert's face was slightly pale, his lips faint, pressed into a straight line, and his brows furrowed, seemingly enduring discomfort.

But it was precisely this Albert that made Violet blush.

As the atmosphere grew tense, Albert's hoarse voice broke the silence.

"What's your name?"

Violet looked up abruptly, replying in surprise, "Violet."

After that, maybe because she had helped him to the clinic, Albert's indifferent attitude towards her changed significantly.

When Violet turned around in the classroom, she no longer only saw Albert sleeping on the desk. Occasionally, she even met his eyes when he just woken up.

When boys who liked her teased her, Albert would pass by and casually step in to teach them a lesson.

He even started talking to her, advising her to wear more clothing to keep warm.

One day, Violet overheard Albert's friends talking about him.

"I think Albert might like Violet!"

"He never interacted with any girls at school before, but recently he's been different."

"I've seen him talk to her several times. Considering how impatient he usually is with girls, talking to her must mean he likes her."

"If they get together, that would be great."

Listening to her classmates' conversation, Violet's heart raced, her face turning red with shyness, her ears also flushing.

Could it be that Albert really liked her?

As Violet was contemplating whether to play it cool or pursue him actively, Albert initiated an invitation, "Wanna go for a walk?"

hey walked quietly along the campus path.

They walked like that, and Violet wished this moment could last forever.

"That necklace..." he started but paused.

Violet blinked. He didn't mention her taking him to the clinic but instead brought up the necklace. Could his change in attitude towards her be because of the necklace?

Violet hadn't quite figured out what Albert meant and gave a light chuckle.

Ever since she found the necklace, she had planned to hand it over to the teacher. But Albert's sudden collapse and his change in attitude made her forget about it.

He seemed to like the necklace a lot, and now he brought it up again.

Albert asked, "Is the necklace yours?"

Violet bit her lip. So, the necklace wasn't Albert's. But he had changed his attitude towards her because of it.

At that moment, Violet had a selfish thought.

Maybe that necklace was her lucky charm.

Violet took the necklace out of her pocket and nodded. "Yes."

"Did you buy it?" Albert's voice was gentle, with a hint of curiosity.

Violet had never heard him speak so softly. She took a deep breath.

She replied vaguely, "It's a gift from my friend."

Violet wasn't sure if her answer pleased Albert. She was very nervous, but he didn't say a word.

Just when Violet was about to apologize out of nervousness, Albert chuckled softly.

"Sorry, I had a severe car accident last year. I can't remember many things. I'm sorry I didn't recognize you."

Violet was stunned, looking at Albert in shock.

A flower-shaped patch of light fell on Albert's face, making him look much softer.

Violet watched as Albert took the necklace from her hand and placed it around her neck.

They were very close, so close that Violet could almost smell the pleasant scent on his T-shirt. When she looked up, she saw the distinct lines of his Adam's apple.

At that moment, Violet's eyes were filled with Albert, who was half-hugging her and putting the necklace on her, and the sound of her own heartbeat in her ears.

There was no skin contact between them, but Violet felt as if she were being embraced by him.

Just as she instinctively wanted to raise her hand to wrap around his waist, Albert stepped back half a step, distancing himself from her.

Violet looked at Albert with longing, seeing her reflection in his deep eyes. She heard his low, rich voice.

"I've tried hard to remember the past, but it's all a blur. But it's okay, let's start anew."

The sunlight, the breeze, the necklace, and Albert that day were deeply engraved in Violet's heart.

He said, "Violet, I won't forget you again."

Looking at the broken necklace in her palm, Violet bit her almost bloodless lip, ignoring the tear stains on her face. She tightly clasped the necklace in her hands, holding it against her chest.

After claiming the necklace as her own, Violet had wondered whose it really was, and the person who lost it might have been someone from Albert's past.

That girl from that day had crossed her mind several times. Violet suspected the necklace might be hers, but on second thoughts, so many people used the sink, no one knew whose it was.

Since Albert believed the necklace belonged to her, it felt like it was destined.
