Chapter 233 Albert's Agitation

The moonlight was chilly, casting a pale glow on Albert's sharp features, making him look even more distant.

Albert knocked back the liquor in his glass in one go, a dark and unreadable glint flickering in his deep eyes.

Even though his face was a blank slate, he radiated an odd sense of agitation. He pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and held it between his lips, but it did nothing to calm his anger.

Images of Yvette and David dancing kept flashing through his mind—David's hand on her back, his lips close to her neck.

And David's smug look.

Albert took a deep breath. He suddenly crushed the cigarette butt and stood up to head back to the banquet.

He planned to go straight to David, but as soon as he got there, people surrounded him.

"Albert, you finally showed up. Where'd you disappear to?"

"Yeah, we were looking all over for you! We kept running into David instead. We only recognized him by his bow tie; otherwise, we would've kept mistaking him for you.."

"Albert, even though this isn't the best time, it's really great to see you. There's something I need to talk to you about."

As the heir to the Valdemar Group, Albert had to swallow his frustration and play the part.

Glass after glass of liquor went down his throat, but Albert kept his cool on the outside, speaking clearly as he chatted with them.

They talked about development plans and the current state of the Valdemar family.

But by now, he was already drowning in alcohol.

The other members of the Valdemar family, while chatting with Albert, had eyes full of surprise. Albert, who usually avoided them like the plague, was actually engaging.

Perhaps securing his cooperation in the future wouldn't be so difficult after all.

Noticing the subtle change in Albert's complexion, Cheryl, who had been watching from a distance, finally stepped in to interrupt his socializing.

Cheryl gave Albert a suspicious look. His personality was always stubborn; if he didn't want to do something or drink, no one could persuade him.

"Albert, I haven't seen Yvette for a while. She seems to have gone back to her room," Cheryl said worriedly. "She had a bit to drink earlier. You should go check on her."

Hearing Cheryl mention Yvette, Albert's expression turned cold. He muttered, "She'll be fine."

"Really?" Cheryl sighed. "But I'm still quite worried. I'll have David go check on her."

Albert's eyes turned icy as he said, "No need, I'll go."

"Alright."

As soon as Albert stepped out of the banquet hall, he felt the alcohol quickly taking effect. The rare sensation of drunkenness made his heart start to beat rapidly and violently.

The intense heartbeat made him quicken his pace.

Albert mustered his strength to go upstairs. The Valdemar Group's hotel always had rooms reserved for the Valdemar family, with access granted through facial recognition technology.

With the sound of the prompt, the room door opened, and Yvette, who had been absorbed in her phone, glanced over in surprise.

Seeing it was Albert, Yvette instinctively turned off her phone screen, asking, "Why are you up here so early?"

Yvette's evasive actions made Albert's mind flash back to the dance hall—her and David wrapped up in that close dance.

Alcohol and anger took over Albert's rationality in an instant. He stormed forward, grabbed Yvette's arm, and dragged her to the bed.

Yvette was startled by his sudden move. She shouted, "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing?" Albert's anger flared as he pinned Yvette onto the bed.

Albert moved in closer, restraining Yvette. He grabbed her wrist with one hand, pinning it above her head.

The curtains were open, and the cold moonlight streamed in. The hotel's soundproofing was top-notch, making the room so quiet you could hardly believe there was a lively banquet going on downstairs.

Albert stared at Yvette's perfectly made-up face in the faint moonlight.

Yvette's face looked especially beautiful, with some kind of shimmer applied by the makeup artist, making her even more striking.

Albert's gaze moved down to her well-covered chest.

The design of her evening gown was clever, with a high neckline that only revealed her bosom from the front, covering her skin. But the back was largely exposed, creating an alluring and irresistible effect.

Albert leaned in and asked, "What do you think I'm going to do?"

Then he sneered and questioned her, "Was David this close to you earlier?"

Hearing this, Yvette froze and said, "Are you crazy? Albert, you were the one who asked me to dance!"

Yvette's voice trembled slightly, revealing her panic.

But to Albert, her voice only sounded like she was afraid of being exposed.

Albert didn't want to hear her excuses anymore. The alcohol made his breath hot, which he exhaled onto Yvette's neck, causing her to shrink back.

Albert's tall body pressed aggressively against Yvette's, the smell of alcohol filling the space between them.

Yvette had also been drinking, and her attempts to push his hand away were weak, almost playful, further intensifying Albert's desire.

Yvette could clearly feel him pressing against her leg through the fabric of his pants.

His slightly heavy breathing was in her ear, and a warm hand was heavily caressing her exposed back.

Feeling his increasingly uncontrollable breathing and actions, Yvette released her bitten lower lip and uttered, "Stop."

But when her voice emerged, it resembled more of a plea.

Albert was finally pushed over the edge by her words. He couldn't hold back any longer and tore Yvette's evening gown apart.

Yvette's scream was muffled by Albert's kiss.

She trembled, the taste of alcohol on his lips mingling with her own, making them both dizzy with desire.

Feeling her response, Albert opened his eyes and gazed at her.

Seeing her dazed expression, Albert tightened his grip on her wrists.

"Yvette, look at me," said Albert.

In the room, amidst their slightly heavy breathing, Albert's deep, husky voice sounded particularly sexy.

Hearing this, Yvette slowly opened her eyes, her gaze hazy as she looked at Albert.

Albert asked in a low voice, "Tell me, who am I?"
