Chapter 634 A Family of Four Goes on a Trip
Violet's words cut through David like a blade, piercing straight to his core.
His previously calm demeanor shattered instantly, his eyes turning as cold and hard as winter steel.
His jaw clenched tight, brow furrowing deeply—like a lion provoked beyond reason. His hands curled into fists, veins standing out starkly against his skin, betraying the rage he struggled to contain.
David fought to maintain control, but fury gripped him like a vise around his chest. Watching Violet's provocative expression, his anger reached its breaking point.
Yet the more furious he became, the more controlled he appeared. He fixed her with an icy stare, his eyes flashing with warning.
"Violet, are you threatening me?"
His voice carried the bite of arctic wind.
Their gazes locked, sparks flying between them as they tested each other's limits. The air crackled with tension—a powder keg waiting to explode.
Neither spoke. The silence stretched taut, an invisible war playing out in the space between them.
Violet leaned back leisurely, lifting her glass with deliberate calm. Her bright eyes glittered with challenge as she swirled the amber liquid, watching it catch the light.
"You could put it that way."
Her voice held a hint of amusement, dripping with provocation.
That was the match that lit the fuse.
David's eyes flashed with deadly intent. His control finally snapped as he lunged forward, his hand shooting out to wrap around Violet's throat.
Violet tried to dodge, but it was too late. His grip closed around her neck like a steel trap, his strength overwhelming.
Her face flushed red instantly, eyes widening with shock and fury. She clawed at his hands desperately, but his iron grip held firm.
Her complexion shifted from red to pale as her breathing became labored.
David's expression turned savage, his voice a low growl. "Violet, what the hell do you want? Why do you keep fighting me? All you had to do was hand over those reports, and I would have married you. We could have taken the Valdemar Group together, but you insist on being my enemy!"
His voice dripped with venom. "I gave you a chance."
Violet gasped for air, barely managing to whisper, "Let... let go of me."
Her voice came out hoarse and weak. Seeing her plead only fueled David's rage further.
With her last ounce of strength, Violet choked out, "If I die... the medicine goes straight to Albert."
David's face went rigid, hatred burning in his eyes, but he had no choice but to release her.
If Albert got that medicine and Yvette recovered, his chances of challenging Albert would vanish forever.
David jerked his hand away.
Violet collapsed to the floor, clutching her throat and coughing violently.
The private room fell deathly silent, thick with tension and the sound of Violet's ragged breathing.
Yvette slowly emerged from sleep.
The room was empty, with only pale morning light filtering through the curtain gaps onto the floor. Her eyelids fluttered in the dim light as she adjusted to consciousness.
The room was so quiet she could hear only her own breathing. She rubbed her sleepy eyes, yawned, and slowly sat up.
Yvette turned her head, listening for any sign of Albert. But the bed beside her was cold and empty—as if last night had never happened, and the man who had been so relentless with her had simply vanished.
She glanced at the clock. Past ten already.
Her body reminded her that Albert had indeed kept his word—she'd been thoroughly worn out the night before.
Yvette rose and left the room, walking slowly down the hallway. When she reached the children's room, she found the door slightly ajar and paused.
Albert's voice drifted out, tinged with amusement. "Do we really need to pack this too?"
CiCi's bright voice responded, "Of course! I absolutely have to bring my princess dress! Daddy, you're the best—please let me bring it!"
Albert could never resist CiCi's pleading. He chuckled softly. "Of course, sweetheart. Bring whatever you want."
BoBo sounded concerned. "But CiCi, Daddy and Mommy already have to handle us, and all this luggage will be too much trouble."
"Don't worry," Albert replied. "I'll ship the luggage ahead. We'll just travel with you two and Mommy."
CiCi squealed with delight. "Daddy's the best!" She planted a kiss on his cheek.
Yvette stood in the doorway, watching the heartwarming scene unfold.
Albert was helping the children pack, sitting on the bed surrounded by their belongings. The kids excitedly selected their treasures, chattering happily as they handed items to their father.
The room buzzed with laughter and joy, the children's faces glowing with happiness.
Yvette watched quietly, warmth spreading through her chest. She saw Albert's focused expression, felt his love and care for the children radiating from every gesture.
BoBo and CiCi's excitement was infectious and impossible to hide.
Sensing her presence, Albert and both children looked up simultaneously.
Albert smiled. "You're awake?"
"Mommy! Good morning, Mommy!" the children chorused.
Yvette snapped back to attention, looking puzzled. "What are you all doing, sweethearts?"
"We're packing, Mommy!" CiCi handed her princess dress to Albert, watching carefully as he placed it in the suitcase before running to Yvette and wrapping her arms around her legs. "Mommy, we're going on a trip!"
CiCi's excitement left Yvette bewildered. "A trip?"
"Yes!" BoBo walked over, looking up at her with barely contained excitement. "Mommy, it's okay that you slept in. When CiCi and I finish packing our stuff, we'll help you pack yours."
A strange premonition stirred in Yvette's chest, leaving her confused. She asked uncertainly, "You mean... me?"
Yvette hesitated, not finishing her thought.
"Of course you and Daddy!" CiCi exclaimed. "Daddy said our whole family is going to the beach!"
