Chapter 609 Albert Accused of Violence

Albert had only returned to grab his coat before heading to the interview when he witnessed Violet raising her hand toward Yvette.

Instantly understanding what was about to unfold, Albert stepped forward to intervene.

A flash of fury crossed his eyes as he strode toward Violet, his voice cutting through the air like ice: "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

His gaze burned with fierce intensity as he caught Violet's raised wrist mid-swing, yanking it away before her hand could connect with Yvette's face. The force of his grip sent Violet stumbling backward a step.

Violet seemed stunned by Albert's sudden intervention, staring at his thunderous expression in speechless shock. He hadn't held back—the momentum sent her tumbling to the ground where she landed hard.

Albert loomed over her, his stare boring into her as he spoke each word with deliberate precision, "If you ever lay a finger on her, I'll make you regret it."

The warning in his eyes was unmistakable, sending a visible shiver through Violet.

The air around them seemed to crystallize into silence.

Yvette stood frozen, overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events.

Albert turned to her, his hands finding her shoulders as concern replaced the steel in his voice, "Are you hurt?"

Yvette slowly gathered herself, meeting his gaze with a small nod. "I'm fine."

The cameras that had been casually positioned around the room suddenly swiveled toward them, capturing every detail of the confrontation with ruthless clarity.

Under the unforgiving lens, Albert's protective stance was immortalized, while Violet's reaction became the center of public scrutiny.

She looked genuinely shocked, her eyes wide with disbelief at what had just transpired. Then tears began to well up, spilling down her pale, delicate cheeks.

Through the heavy silence, a cold male voice cut through the tension: "Albert, don't you think you've gone too far?"

David's imposing figure pushed through the crowd, his stride purposeful despite the slight limp that slowed his approach. The cameras tracked his movement, hungry for every nuance of the unfolding drama.

Reaching Violet, David bent down to help her up, his voice gentle, "Are you all right?"

He carefully assisted her to her feet, checking for any signs of injury.

Violet rose with tears streaming down her face, her wounded gaze fixed on Albert. "Albert, even if you have no regard for what we once meant to each other, you can't treat me like this! I'm going to be your sister-in-law!"

Albert's expression remained impassive as he drew Yvette closer, regarding David and Violet with unmistakable contempt. "I told you—no one hurts her. You're testing my patience."

The woman Albert wouldn't dream of touching with anything but tenderness, Violet had been ready to strike.

With Yvette's recent health struggles, he couldn't allow even the slightest harm to come to her.

"I wasn't going to—" Violet began to protest, but David's restraining hand on her arm silenced her.

David pulled Violet close, his comforting pat on her shoulder creating what would undoubtedly appear as a tender moment on camera. His eyes swept across the array of cameras pointed at them, and his heart sank with calculated precision.

He recognized this opportunity—a chance to make Albert pay. "Violet, he doesn't even respect me as his brother. What makes you think he'd show you any consideration as his future sister-in-law?"

The entire venue plunged into deathly silence.

The previously buzzing crowd seemed to have their throats seized, their breathing careful and measured, afraid to be the first to shatter the fragile quiet.

Every face wore an expression of stunned disbelief, mouths agape, bodies frozen in their previous positions.

The sharp click of a camera shutter broke the spell, and instantly the room erupted into chaos. Whispered conversations exploded into animated discussions, faces displaying a kaleidoscope of complex emotions.

The venue transformed into a carnival of noise, but beneath the cacophony lay an unmistakable undercurrent of tension. What had been mere speculation about the brothers' relationship had just been confirmed beyond doubt by David's calculated words.

Albert's face darkened with barely contained anger: "David, if you have something to say, say it plainly."

David's expression grew grave as he fixed his gaze on Albert. "I know you've always resented me and harbored feelings about Violet, but I am still your brother, and she is still your future sister-in-law."

He paused deliberately before continuing, "Even without those relationships, you're a man and she's a woman—you have no right to use violence against her."

Yvette immediately recognized David's trap and stepped forward, her brow furrowed in frustration. "He didn't use violence, David. If you care about the Valdemar Group and your relationship as brothers, you shouldn't be spreading these misleading accusations in public."

"Misleading?" David's gaze dropped to Yvette with a contemptuous smile: "Doesn't he understand the physical disparity between men and women? Doesn't he realize that his shove would send Violet to the ground?"

As David spoke, his eyes remained locked on Albert, filled with disdain and mockery.

Albert's expression grew thunderous, knowing he couldn't afford a public confrontation that would only make matters worse.

Yvette was right—if the brothers clashed here, the entire Valdemar Group could suffer the consequences.

But David wasn't offering any opportunity for de-escalation, raising his voice to address the crowd, "These cameras have recorded everything you did. You used violence and won't even admit it—are you going to play the coward now? You claim to care about the Valdemar Group's reputation, yet as its public face, you've lost control of your emotions and behaved this way in front of everyone. Have you considered the negative impact this will have?"

David's voice grew increasingly forceful, dripping with righteous indignation as more people gathered around, their murmurs growing louder.

"Are you kidding me? Is their relationship really this toxic? Guess all that brotherly love was just an act!"

"What did David mean about Albert not controlling his emotions in public? Is this how he normally behaves?"

"Probably. Everyone in Luken knows about his temper."

"Maybe that's why Violet broke up with him—because he has violent tendencies."

In moments, Albert's image was thoroughly tarnished in the public eye. He appeared to be an irresponsible, volatile man who abused women and maintained a hostile relationship with his own brother.

Yvette felt her spine chill as the damaging whispers surrounded them.

Then Albert's calm voice cut through the noise, "I was protecting my woman from harm. If someone tried to hit Violet, would you just stand there and watch?"
