Chapter 304 I Will Make Them Divorce

At the table, everyone seemed to be getting along just fine, but it was evident that they all had their own thoughts.

Yvette was busy looking after Lester and Christina, while David was right there, helping her out. It all looked so natural, like a perfect family scene.

But across the table, someone was staring at Yvette without even trying to hide it, completely ignoring David's intense glare.

All attendees were Valdemar Family members and were aware of the events from a few years ago.

Their eyes kept darting around, but no one dared to let their curiosity show too much.

Then, the room buzzed with excitement as Cheryl walked in. Yvette, feeling a bit guilty, instinctively looked down.

Long time no see, Cheryl approached David and embraced him tightly. "David, you're back! I've missed you terribly! I thought you'd never return!"

David was touched. "How could I stay away? I'll come back to see you every year from now on."

"Now that you're back, don't go to Stellaria anymore. What's so great about it?" Cheryl said. "Oh, and I heard you brought your wife and kids..."

Before Cheryl could finish, she spotted Yvette. She froze, her eyes full of questions.

Years ago, when Yvette was isolated in the Valdemar Family, Cheryl stood out as the sole beacon of kindness. Despite her overwhelming guilt, Yvette had to maintain the facade at the banquet.

Yvette stood up, smiled gracefully, and said, "Hello, Grandma, I'm Jessica."

She patted the heads of the two kids. "These two are Lester and Christina. We call them BoBo and CiCi."

Yvette pressed her lips together, almost unconsciously leaving out the "David's wife" and "our children" parts.

Cheryl's eyes welled up as she looked at Yvette, and they stood in silence. Yvette clenched her fists, battling to rein in her emotions. If the truth came out now, all her efforts would be for nothing.

After a while, Cheryl finally looked down, smiled, and reached out her trembling hand to touch the kids.

David quickly picked up the kids and brought them closer to Cheryl.

David's smile was gentle, completely overshadowing the earlier tension caused by Albert. "Grandma, this is my wife Jessica and my two kids, BoBo and CiCi."

Cheryl reached out and touched the kids' soft cheeks. "Wonderful, they are so well-behaved."

Cheryl's kind eyes briefly glanced downward before meeting Yvette's gaze again. "Everyone deserves to be happy. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters."

Yvette's heart was touched, her nose tingled, and she couldn't bring herself to look into Cheryl's bright eyes anymore.

Did Cheryl see through it?

She didn't ask a single question, didn't show any surprise, just said that as long as Yvette was happy, it was enough.

Yvette's fingertips dug into her palms, not daring to show any emotion.

Cheryl turned around and patted David's arm with a smile. "David, you should stay at the Valdemar Family tonight with them. I want to get to know the kids better. After all, once you leave, who knows when we'll see each other again."

Yvette lowered her head, and before David could respond, a deep male voice came from not far away.

"No rush," Albert said coldly, with a hint of something more. "We've got plenty of time to get acquainted."

Yvette's throat tightened, and she could feel the tension around David.

Cheryl's expression turned stern. She glanced at Albert and said in a firm tone, "In front of the kids, adults should act like adults."

Yvette shot Cheryl a grateful look and, after a moment, said, "David, Grandma likes the kids. Let's stay for a few days."

David frowned and glanced at Yvette, reluctantly agreeing, "Alright."

He looked up and gave Albert a warning look, only to get a smug smile in return.

Yvette watched the silent standoff between the two brothers but pretended nothing was happening.

Throughout the banquet, Yvette was on edge.

Finally, when the banquet ended, she was eager to escape those unavoidable gazes, especially Albert's intense stare. She used the excuse that the kids were tired and left with them.

After seeing off the guests, it was already late.

Albert's eyes showed fatigue, and he seemed distracted.

Vincent, who had seen off the Morgan family, walked up to Albert. "Mr. Valdemar, everything's been handled as you instructed."

Albert slowly exhaled, raised his hand to rub his temples, and said casually, "Alright, you can go home now."

"Mr. Valdemar..." Vincent looked at Albert with concern but didn't move. "Are you sure? Is she really Mrs. Valdemar?"

Albert's hand paused, and his narrowed eyes showed no warmth. "Even if she doesn't admit it, she is still Yvette."

"Do we still need to keep looking for Mrs. Valdemar?" Vincent asked.

"No need," Albert said with a cold smile. "I've already found her."

"If Jessica is really Mrs. Valdemar, and she's married to David with two kids, your actions today are pretty risky for the Valdemar Group." Vincent hesitated. He knew these words would upset Albert, but he had to say them. "If you just want to know if she's alive and well, shouldn't it end here?"

"End here?" Albert's voice was icy, like a frozen blade. "Who said it's over? I want her back with me. No matter the misunderstandings, I'll explain. She's mine; she has to be mine!"

Vincent's eyes darkened, and he asked hesitantly, "What about the two kids? Do you plan to take care of them too?"

Mentioning the kids made Albert's aura even more oppressive. When he spoke again, his tone was extremely calm.

But the intense anger and possessiveness in his words were unmistakable.

"As long as she comes back to me, what's the big deal about two kids? I can afford to raise them."

Just thinking about Yvette saying she would kill him for the sake of the two kids and David made Albert's hostility grow even stronger.

Vincent asked, "But will David agree?"

Albert looked up, his cold eyes sweeping over Vincent's face, and a faintly mocking smile appeared on his lips. "Does it matter if David agrees? I'll make them divorce."

Vincent gasped. "Mr. Valdemar."

Albert sneered disdainfully. "David can't stop me. What I want, he can't take away."
