Chapter 422 He Doesn't Believe It

As the night deepened, the stars in the sky twinkled more actively.

Yvette, holding Albert's arm, walked out of the banquet hall.

A few bodyguards approached and nodded, reporting, "Mr. Valdemar, Miss Valdemar has left the estate, you can rest assured."

Albert glanced at Yvette, and he nodded.

Seeing Yvette's calm expression, without any doubt or surprise, Albert gave her a meaningful look. "Did she come to you?"

Yvette naturally knew that the "she" Albert referred to was Ingrid.

Yvette didn't want to complicate matters, after all, she didn't want Albert to know about what Ingrid said and the bet with Sylvia.

She recalled Ingrid's certainty that her child wasn't Albert's, and the anger and disdain in her eyes, which made her feel a bit annoyed.

Yvette nodded and said ambiguously, "She doesn't like me, you know that."

After their marriage, Ingrid had caused Yvette a lot of trouble behind Albert's back.

At that time, Yvette didn't want Albert to worry about her issues, so she never mentioned it to him.

Later, when he personally witnessed her being bullied, he only gave Ingrid a few casual warnings, and that was the end of it.

She spoke lightly, but Albert's face suddenly turned cold.

He looked up, his gaze towards the bodyguards was full of pressure. "I said, if Ingrid steps into the door of this banquet, you all can get fired!"

The bodyguards instantly panicked. "Mr. Valdemar..."

"She didn't step into the banquet door," Yvette explained, "I was chatting with Sylvia outside and happened to run into her."

Albert frowned. "Did she cause you trouble?"

"Not really." Yvette lowered her eyes, not letting him see her expression.

Albert knew Yvette's temperament well, if she didn't want to say, she definitely wouldn't tell him.

Albert looked up and asked the bodyguards, "Did Ingrid cause trouble for my wife?"

"Not exactly," Yvette quickly spoke before the bodyguards. "She was dissatisfied with me, naturally didn't want me to be comfortable, said a few harsh words, and was then driven away by Sylvia."

Albert raised an eyebrow. "Sylvia?"

Mentioning Sylvia, Yvette's tense expression slightly relaxed. "Yep. She has a fiery personality and a sharp tongue, she won't let me suffer."

Albert responded with a light "hmm," a dark and unclear expression flashed in his eyes.

At this moment, the music started, and the banquet officially began.

The lights flickered, reflecting off Yvette's dress adorned with a few sparkling diamonds, creating a brilliant light, like stars in the night sky.

Albert turned his head to look at Yvette, only feeling that her beauty at this moment was like the serene moonlight, making people dare not easily desecrate.

The host of the estate began to talk about the occasion of the banquet, the general situation of the project, and the important people present.

The host laughed loudly. "After introducing the project, let's invite Mr. Valdemar of the Valdemar Group, who has made significant contributions to our project, to speak for us!"

Yvette turned to look at Albert, feeling his arm slightly tense, then her hand was gently patted by Albert's warm palm. "Wait for me."

Yvette said, "Okay."

After the banquet ended, the host opened various entertainment areas in the estate for everyone to enjoy.

Sylvia, holding a wine glass, gathered with a group of people who didn't need to talk business in the estate's bar.

The air was filled with the lingering aroma of food and wine, and the atmosphere in the estate bar was relaxed and joyful, full of laughter and gossip.

The glasses under the lights reflected subtle glimmers, highlighting the women's exquisite makeup and luxurious attire.

Sylvia, tasting the estate owner's homemade wine, already had a blush on her cheeks.

A group of women were playing games nearby, and something was said that caused a burst of laughter.

Sylvia curiously walked over, just in time to hear the women chatting excitedly while playing games.

"If Mr. Albert Valdemar knew about this, what would he do?"

"Since he already knows, he probably doesn't care, right?"

"Who knows, maybe he can accept sharing the same woman with David?"

"I heard that woman wants to bet with Miss Valdemar, don't be ridiculous, how could an outsider know more than the Valdemar Family?"

"Trying to cozy up to that woman? Probably cozying up to the wrong person. When Mr. Albert Valdemar figures it out and is no longer so eager, he probably won't tolerate a woman who has been with someone else."

"Exactly, especially since it's with Mr. David Valdemar, their relationship is bad, he will definitely abandon her!"

The women burst into laughter again, and Sylvia's curious smile vanished. Just as she was about to step forward to defend Yvette, someone patted her shoulder.

Turning around, she met Yvette's eyes. Stunned, Sylvia was pulled to a corner before she could speak. Feeling awkward, she looked at Yvette, wanting to say something but hesitating.

In the corner, where the laser lights couldn't reach and it was a bit dim, Sylvia couldn't see Yvette's expression.

In the somewhat noisy environment, Sylvia heard Yvette's calm voice.

"Sylvia, these are some mid-level colleagues from the Valdemar Group's Eldoria branch, they know me," Yvette said, "They don't participate in decision-making, so they didn't go to discuss the project, they are waiting here, having time to chat and gossip, you don't need to conflict with them."

Sylvia reluctantly said, "Since they know you, they shouldn't say such things!"

Yvette blinked. "But they did see me as David's wife for more than three years. They also know I gave birth to two children in Eldoria."

Yvette didn't continue, but Sylvia already understood her meaning.

In front of these people, she was the one who couldn't explain herself.

They had seen her and David living together as husband and wife, raising BoBo and CiCi together.

No matter how Yvette explained to them, they would believe what they had seen.

Sylvia looked at Yvette with some heartache. "Then why don't you tell Albert about this? As long as he believes, no matter what others say or discuss, it won't affect your life!"

As long as Albert believed the two children were his, he would definitely not believe these rumors and would even take strong measures to resolve this matter.

Yvette's expression was hidden in the darkness. "I said it, twice. He didn't believe."
