Chapter 282 A Familiar Silhouette
After hanging up, Yvette adjusted her mask, worried about passing her cold to Lester and Christina.
She put away her phone and grabbed the suitcase. "Grab my coat tails, we need to line up to board the plane, got it?"
Christina and Lester chimed in together, "Okay, Mommy!"
Lester grabbed one side of Yvette's coat and handed it to Christina. "Hold on tight, if you get lost, Mommy and I won't come looking for you."
Christina replied, "I'll hold on tight, otherwise there won't be Mommy and brother."
Yvette was initially worried about taking two kids on such a long flight by herself, thinking it might be unsafe. But seeing how well-behaved they were, she felt a bit more at ease.
The plane cruised smoothly.
Lester, sitting next to her, kept frowning, clenching his fists, looking like he was holding something in.
Yvette noticed something was off. "What's wrong? Tell me."
Lester thought for a moment and finally spoke, "Mommy, I need to go to the bathroom."
"Need to use the restroom?" Yvette patted Lester's head. "I'll take you."
"No." Lester shook his head seriously. "It's not safe for CiCi to sit here alone, Mommy, I can go to the bathroom by myself."
Yvette was a bit worried. Although Lester was much smarter and more independent than kids his age, he was still a child. "Didn't I put a diaper on you? How about you don't go to the restroom?"
"No way." Lester's face turned red. "Mommy, I need to go to the bathroom, you take care of CiCi, I'll be right back."
With that, Lester quickly unbuckled his seatbelt, jumped off the seat, and headed to the restroom by himself.
Yvette smiled helplessly and quickly called a nearby flight attendant. "Excuse me, my child needs to use the restroom, could you please keep an eye on him?"
"Sure."
In a rush, Lester reached the restroom door and found it shut. Despite his haste, he patiently waited outside.
Soon, the restroom door opened, and Vincent came out, about to head to the first-class cabin, but he was stunned when he saw Lester.
As Lester was about to enter the restroom, Vincent suddenly grabbed him.
Vincent squatted down and looked at Lester in surprise. "What's your name?"
Lester frowned. Yvette's warning echoed in his mind. "Sorry, can't share that," he responded cautiously.
Vincent asked again, "Do you have a father?"
Lester's serious expression showed a hint of anger. "I have a father. You're being very rude."
Vincent realized he was being a bit abrupt and quickly apologized, "Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. You just look a lot like a friend of mine, so I asked."
"Sir." Lester's face turned red, and he couldn't hold it any longer. "I need to use the restroom."
With that, Lester waved to the nearby flight attendant. "Excuse me, he's been bothering me, could you ask him to leave?"
The flight attendant Lester called was the one Yvette had secretly asked for help. She quickly stepped forward to intervene, "Sorry, sir, if you're done using the restroom, please let the next passenger use it."
Seeing the flight attendant blocking Vincent, Lester quickly slipped into the restroom.
Vincent stared at the closed restroom door, then at the flight attendant, and finally headed back to the first-class cabin, looking puzzled.
Vincent couldn't shake the resemblance between Lester and Albert as he made his way back to his seat. When he looked up and met Albert's cold eyes, Vincent was stunned. It wasn't just their facial features that were similar, but the aura and expression they shared.
Lester was like a mini version of Albert!
Vincent's intense gaze made Albert frown. "Is there something you need?"
Vincent shivered under Albert's icy stare. "No, nothing."
He lowered his eyes, not daring to say more.
Over the years, he had given Albert too many false leads and had seen Albert's journey from hope to disappointment to despair countless times.
He couldn't do that again, making Albert suffer for nothing.
Vincent pressed his lips together, making up his mind. He decided not to mention such baseless things for now.
The plane taxied and landed smoothly.
Albert slowly stood up, ready to disembark.
Vincent took down the luggage from the overhead compartment. "Mr. Valdemar, didn't Mr. Thomas say he would wait for you to disembark together?"
They were on the same flight as Victor. They hadn't seen each other in a long time, and Victor insisted on catching up later.
Albert nodded. "I'll wait downstairs."
As soon as he got off the plane, Albert's phone started ringing non-stop.
He walked while handling work calls.
After hanging up, Albert turned around and saw Vincent looking around distractedly, as if searching for something.
Before he could remind him, Vincent, not noticing Albert had stopped, bumped into him with the suitcase.
Albert's hand loosened, and his phone fell to the ground. His chiseled face instantly darkened.
Vincent was terrified and quickly picked up the phone from the ground. "Sorry, I didn't notice."
Albert frowned. "What are you thinking about? You've been acting strange since the plane."
Vincent pressed his lips together, his eyes darting towards the restroom up ahead. "I gotta hit the restroom."
With that, Vincent put the suitcase down and disappeared inside.
Albert looked at Vincent inexplicably, not understanding his hesitation today.
More work messages flooded in, prompting Albert to lower his head and concentrate on responding.
At that moment, a woman's voice came from not far away.
"Your father called. We've landed, don't worry."
Albert's fingers paused on the phone screen. The sound of the familiar voice caused his heart to clench, and he automatically glanced in the direction of the voice.
In an instant, he glimpsed a familiar figure, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.
He thought, 'Yvette, is it Yvette?'
The voice was so similar, even the back looked alike. This time, it couldn't be wrong!
Albert immediately stepped forward, striding quickly to catch up.
