Chapter 293 Kissing for One Minute

Yvette felt her throat tighten a bit. She set her wine glass down gently and found a quiet spot to sit, using the crowd as a shield.

However, two piercing stares sliced through the room, fixing on Yvette. She feigned ignorance, casting her gaze downward.

Albert strode into the private room with his long legs, and everyone froze.

They were all just regular employees. Even Dominic had a hard time getting close to Albert.

Albert's unexpected arrival threw everyone into a panic.

Dominic, looking nervous, walked up to Albert and gave a slight bow. "Mr. Valdemar, what brings you here?"

Albert's eyes were cold as he glanced at him. "Do I need to report to you before I come?"

"No, that's not what I meant." Dominic was almost sweating. He forced a smile. "We're thrilled to have you here!"

A male colleague behind him quickly called over two women, "You two, go entertain Mr. Valdemar. Don't slack off!"

The two women, seeing Albert's broad shoulders, muscular build under his suit, and his strikingly handsome, chiseled face, lit up. But his cold aura was too intimidating, and they didn't dare approach.

Dominic glared at the male colleague. "How could Mr. Valdemar even be interested in these women with his gaze?"

He waved his hand. "Escort them out."

Dominic quickly said, "Mr. Valdemar, please have a seat. I'll pour you a drink."

Albert said nothing, his thin lips pressed tightly together as he walked through the crowd to sit beside Yvette. Her back tensed, and his scent made her heart race.

Everyone in the room exchanged glances. Dominic quickly poured Albert a drink and invited everyone to sit around him.

"Since you're here, we'll make sure you have a great time!" Dominic waved his hand. "Just drinking is boring. How about we play something fun?"

Seeing Albert made everyone nervous, but the alcohol added a bit of excitement. This was a rare chance to be close to the head of the Valdemar Group. It might be the closest they'd ever get to Albert!

"We must make sure Mr. Valdemar has a great time!"

"How about we play Truth or Dare?"

"Sounds fun!"

"But Mr. Valdemar has to drink a bit first. It's more fun when you're tipsy!"

Everyone started to cheer, holding their glasses and pouring Albert drinks.

Seeing Albert lower his eyes and drink, Yvette's mood sank.

If they couldn't finalize the project today and Dominic went on a business trip, she'd be stuck in Luken for a while.

But with Albert here, Yvette knew the project was unlikely to be discussed today.

Frowning, Yvette picked up her bag. "Sorry, everyone. This is a get-together for the HQ team, so I'll just bow out."

Before she could stand up, Albert had already grabbed her arm.

Without lifting his gaze, Albert remarked, "You're part of the Valdemar crew too. You're more than welcome here."

Yvette's expression changed slightly. "I suck at these games. I don't wanna ruin the fun."

"You're not ruining anything. It's a pleasure to have a gorgeous lady like you with us, right?"

"Exactly, we can teach you."

"Jessica." Albert slammed his glass down on the coffee table, his gaze icy as he looked at Yvette. "Leaving early is the real buzzkill. David must have taught you some table manners, right?"

Albert's words echoed in the room, and everyone exchanged glances.

It was clear Albert had a bone to pick with David's family. Otherwise, he wouldn't embarrass her in front of everyone like this.

Yvette's smile froze. She instinctively tried to pull her wrist away, but his grip was firm, showing no intention of letting her go.

Yvette had no choice but to smile and sit back down. "You're right. Even though David hardly ever drags me into social stuff, I gotta pick up a thing or two from y'all."

Albert's deep eyes were like a bottomless cold pool.

Yvette instinctively averted her gaze and picked up her glass. "I'll take a shot as a penalty."

She knocked back the drink, hoping the alcohol would steady her racing heart.

The group burst into applause and started setting up dice for games.

Yvette rarely played these games and relied on luck. Beginner's luck saved her from punishment twice.

The men told dirty jokes during the truth rounds, but Yvette ignored them, smiling and praying she wouldn't lose.

The more she hoped, the more likely she was to fail.

Yvette lost, and all the men got excited.

"Jessica, Truth or Dare?"

Yvette bit her lip. Since she had already been drinking, she wasn't afraid of more.

She raised her glass and smiled. "I'll drink."

She downed her drink, and the men immediately clapped and laughed. Albert, on the other hand, stared at her with deep eyes but showed no reaction.

Yvette pretended to ignore his gaze. "Next round."

Unexpectedly, Yvette lost again in the next round.

Yvette smiled helplessly and said, "I'll drink."

Dominic, now in high spirits, wasn't willing to let Yvette off so easily. Sitting across from her, he pressed down on her glass. "No way! You can't drink every time. Make your pick: Truth or Dare!"

Yvette nervously clutched her skirt. The men's dirty questions were too much for her to answer, so she said, "I'll choose dare."

A male colleague's eyes lit up with excitement as he placed an iPad in front of Yvette. "Pick a dare."

The alcohol was getting to her, and Yvette felt a bit dizzy. She randomly picked a punishment and shook her head to clear it.

Before her vision could focus, everyone around her started cheering.

Yvette was stunned. She blinked hard and finally saw the punishment on the screen.

[Kiss a member of the opposite sex here for one minute.]

Yvette was dumbfounded. She opened her mouth. "Sorry, I'm married."

"Married or not, you have to take the punishment!"

"A bet's a bet. There are plenty of men here. Just pick one."

With so many expectant eyes on her, Yvette felt extremely uncomfortable. Just as she was feeling anxious, a hand suddenly wrapped around her neck.

Yvette's eyes widened. "What are you doing?"

Albert, with a hint of alcohol on his breath, smirked, his eyes filled with teasing and a touch of punitive intent.

"If you won't choose, I'll choose for you."

Before she could react, a pair of alcohol-scented lips pressed against hers.

Yvette's whole body tensed as she watched Albert's face get closer and closer.
