Chapter 283 Yvette's Photo

In the blink of an eye, the figure in the crowd vanished.

Albert's eyes darkened as he rubbed his brow. Lately, he felt like he was losing it, seeing and hearing things that weren't there.

The woman who just walked by—no way that was Yvette. If it was, she would've recognized him.

Plus, she was on the phone with her husband, the father of her kids. How could that be Yvette?

Vincent's voice snapped Albert out of his thoughts. "Mr. Valdemar, why'd you leave your suitcase behind?"

Albert turned and realized he'd chased that familiar figure quite a distance. He sighed and said, "Let's find a spot to wait for Victor."

"Alright."

Yvette, with Lester and Christina, was among the last to get off the plane. As a safety precaution, she waited until the majority of passengers had exited before retrieving her suitcase.

As she organized it, she said, "We're getting off now. You two need to hold onto my coat tight. There are a lot of people at the airport, so what should you do?"

Lester and Christina replied together, "Be careful!"

Feeling the kind looks from the crew, Yvette smiled. "My kids are great, let's go!"

As they were about to disembark, a pleasant male voice called out, "Yvette?"

Yvette, focused on her kids, ignored him, worried they might not keep up.

Victor called out several times with no response. Suddenly, Yvette felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see Victor in a pilot's uniform.

Yvette looked puzzled. "Sir, are you looking for me?"

Thinking of the unfamiliar name he called, Yvette smiled. "You must have me confused with someone else."

Victor stared into her eyes. "If I did, the resemblance is uncanny."

Lester said politely, "I'm sorry, but my mommy and daddy have been married for years and have me and my sister. If you want to hit on pretty girls, look for single ones."

Yvette patted Lester's head. "Sweetie, let mommy handle this."

Christina gazed at Victor dreamily. "Mommy, he's so handsome. I like men who fly planes!"

"No," Lester frowned. "Daddy is the handsomest man."

Yvette smiled apologetically. "Kids say the darndest things, please don't mind them."

"It's okay," Victor stepped back. "Take care and watch over your kids."

"Alright."

With that, Yvette led Lester and Christina away. "Say goodbye."

"Bye-bye."

Victor, barely containing his excitement, watched as Yvette left with Lester and Christina, his composed face turning complex.

That woman looked so much like Yvette!

If it weren't for his pilot's uniform, he would've pulled down her mask and taken a photo to show Albert.

Luckily, he swiftly changed out of the uniform and took some quick shots with his phone.

Since the photos were taken from behind, he barely captured her face, only a side profile showing her eyes.

Victor zoomed in on the photos on his phone. Staring at Yvette's eyes, he couldn't help but exclaim, "This resemblance is uncanny. Could Yvette have a twin sister?"

Victor changed his clothes and headed to the meeting spot he had arranged with Albert. From afar, he saw Albert in a dark suit, lounging on a sofa with crossed legs, his cold, indifferent gaze fixed on the computer screen, fingers moving relentlessly. The overhead light cast a cold glow on Albert's face, adding a few more degrees of chill to his chiseled features.

Compared to a few years ago, Albert's demeanor was still noble, but he had become more profound and colder.

"Albert," Victor walked up to him, raising an eyebrow and teasing, "No, Mr. Valdemar!"

Albert glanced at Victor with extreme disdain. "Act normal."

Victor felt slightly embarrassed. "What do you mean I'm not normal?"

Albert lowered his eyes and continued his work. "Give me two minutes."

"Alright," Victor nodded and sat down beside him.

Feeling Victor's inexplicably intense gaze on his face, Albert looked up displeased. "What do you want?"

Victor looked conflicted. "I have something to tell you, but I'm not sure if I should."

"Speak," Albert said impatiently.

Victor thought for a moment and cautiously began, "If you're really that miserable, have you considered finding a stand-in or something?"

Albert was puzzled. "A stand-in?"

Victor nodded. "Yes, since Yvette might be impossible to find, you could find someone who looks similar as a stand-in."

"Get lost," Albert's face instantly darkened. "Don't joke about her."

"Don't be mad," Victor knew he had misspoken and quickly apologized. "That's not what I meant. I just saw a woman on the plane today who looks a lot like Yvette. And the key is, the kids with her also look like you!"

Vincent, standing nearby, suddenly froze. "Mr. Thomas, are you talking about a boy around three years old who looks very composed?"

Victor was extremely excited. "Yes! Did you see him too?"

"I ran into him on the plane. The kid looked just like Mr. Valdemar," Vincent said, frowning. "I wasn't sure, but if you see it too..."

Vincent didn't dare to continue.

Both men turned their gaze to Albert, who had his brows furrowed and eyes cold, his expression unreadable.

Victor, thinking Albert didn't believe him, quickly took out his phone. "I'm not lying, and I'm not joking about Yvette. I secretly took a photo; she really looks like her!"

Victor opened the photo showing Yvette's side profile and handed it to Albert. "You have to believe me, look!"

Albert's jaw clenched, his expression controlled. He couldn't deny it any longer; his earlier suspicions outside the restroom were true. He snatched Victor's phone and stared at the photo.

Despite Yvette wearing a mask, her haunting eyes stirred strong emotions within him. His fingers trembled slightly as he gently touched the face in the photo.

He thought, 'Yvette, is it you?'
