Chapter 369 Albert, Wake Up

Yvette stood frozen for two seconds, and by the time she reacted, tears were already streaming down her face.

Albert told Vincent to protect her, while he rushed to save the two children.

Even though he had no idea that these two children were his own.

Despair and sadness surged up. If something really happened to them, how could she go on living?

She once wished never to see Albert again, but at this moment she realized she didn't want anything to happen to him.

This man she had loved for so many years must not be harmed!

Yvette knelt on the ground and crawled to the edge of the floor to look down.

However, despite the signs of dawn, the night was still so dark that nothing could be seen.

Yvette lay on the edge in utter grief, and if Vincent hadn't held her tightly, she seemed ready to jump down at any moment.

"Let go of me!" Yvette pushed Vincent away and turned to run downstairs.

Images of Albert risking his life to save the children and falling with them flashed before Yvette's eyes, her despair and pain accumulating, ready to explode.

The stairs of the unfinished building were rough, making it extremely inconvenient to go down. Yvette stumbled as she ran down, nearly falling several times.

She staggered all the way down, not caring even if she twisted her ankle.

Because at this moment, nothing hurt more than her heart!

When she rushed downstairs, Albert's men had already surrounded the area.

Despite her urgency to get downstairs, Yvette couldn't move, terrified of seeing the three most important people in her life gone. She stood still, her vision blurred by tears.

Suddenly, a child's voice called out, panicked, "Mommy!"

Yvette's body shook. She blinked, and through her tears, she saw BoBo holding CiCi's hand, walking towards her.

Yvette couldn't describe her overwhelming joy. She immediately rushed over and hugged the two children. "My babies, you're okay! It's so good that you're okay!"

The two children were trembling slightly. Yvette knew they were also scared.

Yvette stroked their heads. "Are you alright?"

CiCi said, "Mommy, I was so scared!"

BoBo, who rarely cried, couldn't help but cry. "Mommy, we're okay, but, but Uncle Albert..."

Yvette's body stiffened, and a wave of immense fear swept over her.

Seeing BoBo and CiCi unharmed, just frightened, she was overjoyed, thinking Albert would be safe too. But hearing BoBo's words, Yvette completely broke down. "What happened to him?"

"Uncle Albert is hurt, he's bleeding a lot." BoBo cried out.

Noticing the bloodstains on BoBo and CiCi's pant legs, Yvette trembled and rushed into the crowd, only to find mats laid out below.

But due to the short time, the mats didn't cover the entire area, and Albert had fallen outside the mats.

Blood spread beneath him, Albert's eyes were closed, his forehead covered in sweat, and he was biting his lip, not making a sound.

Yvette reached out to hold him but only dared to hover her hand in the air, afraid of causing him more pain.

"Albert." Yvette's voice was hoarse, filled with a thick nasal tone and sobs. "Are you okay, Albert? Does it hurt?"

Hearing this, Albert's tightly furrowed brows suddenly relaxed a bit.

After a while, he slowly opened his eyes. Despite his extremely pale face, he still managed to pull the corners of his lips, trying to comfort her anxiety and fear.

"I'm fine, don't worry." Albert moved his body slightly, but the pain contorted his face.

"Don't move! Don't move!" Yvette's tears fell in large drops. "Let me check on you!"

Yvette desperately tried to calm down to check Albert's injuries, something she used to do often. But seeing Albert covered in blood, she panicked, not knowing where to start.

Seeing her flustered and anxious, Albert slowly raised his hand and weakly wiped the tears from her face.

He softly comforted, "It's okay, they've already called an ambulance."

Yvette knelt beside him, holding his hand, pressing his warm, damp palm against her face.

Albert's eyes were half-closed. "How are the children?"

Yvette's heart tightened, not expecting Albert to still be concerned about the children despite his own injuries.

It was impossible not to be moved. She nodded vigorously. "Thank you for protecting them."

Yvette held his hand tightly. "Hang in there!"

Yvette's tears continued to flow, but they were tears of joy after surviving a disaster.

When they fell, Yvette thought she would never see them again.

But now, the two children were safe, and Albert was still alive. Things weren't as bad as they seemed.

"Don't cry..." Albert's lips were pale from the pain, and he gradually lost strength.

Seeing Yvette's worried tears, Albert felt both heartache and comfort.

He knew Yvette still cared about him. He tried to smile to reassure her, but the pain twisted his expression.

"Albert, you have to hold on, okay?" Yvette raised her hand and wiped her tears with the back of her hand. "I won't cry, as long as you're okay, I won't cry."

Albert's facial muscles tightened, his jaw clenched, and sweat dripped from his forehead.

Yvette felt heartbroken, raising her hand to wipe his sweat. "Does it hurt a lot?"

"Yep..." Albert looked up, through the crowd, and saw the two children standing hand in hand, quietly watching him.

Seeing them safe, Albert let out a long breath, his eyelids growing heavier.

"I'm very tired, Yvette." Albert's voice gradually weakened, and his eyes slowly closed.

Yvette's throat tightened, and a wave of panic overwhelmed her.

"Albert, you can't sleep!" Yvette didn't dare to shake him, so she leaned close to his ear, constantly calling him, "Albert, look at me, I have so much to tell you, don't sleep! If you sleep, you'll regret it, I really have so many secrets to tell you..."

Yvette's tears flowed again, but no matter how she called, Albert didn't respond.

"Albert, Albert, wake up!" Despair and sorrow spread in her heart, as if choking Yvette, making it hard to breathe.

She shouted, "Albert, please, wake up..."
