Chapter 492 Yvette is Transferred
Pharmacy
A young nurse was sorting out medications.
She had heard that the female patient in the private room was about to be discharged. Her current task was to organize the medications the patient had been taking for the past two weeks.
Just then, the sound of the pharmacy door opening came from behind her.
The young nurse thought it was the head nurse and casually asked, "Why do these medication packages look so weird? They haven't been mass-produced yet, right? Are they clinical trial drugs?"
Her hands kept moving, dividing the pills into doses, oblivious to the sudden chill that crept up behind her.
The nurse mumbled to herself, "Only one set of meds? But isn't the guy who came with her sick too? Why does only she need the medication? Isn't it serious for him too? Won't it be a problem if he doesn't take any meds?"
"Is this how you train your staff? Discussing patient matters so freely in the hospital?"
A deep, menacing voice startled the young nurse, causing her to almost drop the pills she was holding.
She turned around to see the head nurse, who looked pale and gave her a fierce glare.
The young nurse realized she had made a huge mistake!
This private villa hospital was known for its confidentiality, and her questioning of patient privacy could get her into serious trouble.
She quickly stood up, head lowered, "I'm sorry, I spoke out of turn!"
Thalion Veyar adjusted his glasses with a sinister expression and asked the head nurse, "Who is this nurse?"
The head nurse looked embarrassed, "She's new, just started recently. The nurse who was originally in charge broke her leg, so she was assigned to handle the medications today..."
Thalion glanced at the young nurse, his expression unreadable, "Transfer her immediately."
The head nurse looked at the trembling young nurse and replied, "Yes, yes, don't worry!"
Outside the patient room, there was a commotion of hurried footsteps.
Yvette, lying on the bed, turned her head just as several medical staff rushed in.
Yvette was taken aback, sensing an inexplicable tension, like a cold wind brushing her spine. The room was instantly filled with an indescribable sense of unease.
Yvette blinked, "Is there something wrong?"
Before she could finish her sentence, several people in dark uniforms followed the medical staff. Their expressions were stern and cold as they tried to lift Yvette from the bed.
Yvette was alarmed, "What are you doing?!"
A bespectacled doctor approached her. She recognized him as the one who had previously told her the medications were just supplements.
But now, his whole bearing was transformed; his face was icy, and even his glasses glinted with a cold light.
The doctor stood in front of Yvette, expressionless, "Due to your health condition, you need to be transferred to another convalescent hospital."
He stared at her silently, his eyes revealing a ruthless determination.
"Convalescent hospital?" A strong sense of unease and foreboding surged within Yvette. She twisted her body, resisting being moved to the stretcher, "Why transfer me to a convalescent hospital? Let Mr. and Mrs. Hayes talk to me, ah—"
Before she could finish, a sharp needle pierced her skin, and a cold sedative began to seep into her veins.
A wave of helplessness washed over her, making her sway unsteadily. Her heart raced with a fear she couldn't name.
She tried to stay awake, but the sedative was already taking effect.
Her vision blurred, and her consciousness gradually faded into darkness.
When Yvette woke up again, she was no longer in the isolated private villa.
Sunlight reflected off the clear seawater onto her body. As she looked around, she realized she was on a remote island.
Surrounded by the vast ocean, Yvette could even hear the waves crashing against the shore. She struggled to sit up, her body still weak from the sedative's aftereffects.
She took a moment to gather herself and left the room.
Expecting to be stopped, she was surprised to find her movements unimpeded.
Yvette tried to stay calm and began to observe her surroundings.
The place was an isolated island, with only a few buildings and medical staff quarters, and no other facilities.
She tried to find some clues, but there was nothing around to help.
Yvette was horrified to discover that there were no other people on the island, only her and the medical staff.
This isolation made Yvette feel scared and uneasy, not knowing where this strange place was or why they had brought her here.
Finally, she found Felix and Gabrielle. She looked at them, her eyes filled with questions and anger.
"You promised to let me return to the Valdemar Family. Why did you bring me here?" Yvette demanded loudly, "Why are you keeping me here? What is your purpose?"
Seeing Yvette approach, Felix and Gabrielle remained calm, as if they had anticipated her reaction.
Gabrielle looked at her, expressionless, "We're not keeping you here. It's to provide Clifford with better recovery conditions. He still hasn't woken up and needs a better environment to heal."
Yvette clenched her fists, "Even if he needs a good environment, you can't bring me here too! Is it so hard to hand me over to my husband? I have my own life, and just because he hasn't woken up, you can't keep me here!"
Her eyes were filled with determination, ready to fight them to the end.
But the two seemed indifferent to her emotions.
Felix gave her a cold look, "We're not keeping you here. We're doing this for our son's survival."
"What right do you have to bring me here?" Yvette's voice trembled as she questioned, "I haven't done anything wrong. Please let me go home immediately!"
Gabrielle's eyes flashed with impatience. She opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by the sound of hurried footsteps behind her.
They all turned to see Clifford's personal attendant.
Felix and Gabrielle held their breath, exchanging a tense glance, and looked at the attendant, "What happened?"
The attendant, panting but excited, said, "Mr. Clifford Hayes has woken up! He, he asked..."
Felix and Gabrielle were instantly overjoyed, "What did he say?"
"He asked, how is Ms. Orlando? Is she okay?"
