Chapter 325 Albert also didn't rest all night and hasn't eaten yet

Yvette's face was ghostly white, her lips colorless, as she crumpled into Albert's arms.

"Yvette, Yvette!" Albert was freaking out.

Luckily, they were already at the hospital, so Albert scooped her up and rushed into the ER.

The doctor said she was just super stressed and exhausted from staying up all night, and that her body wasn't in any serious danger. Albert finally let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

Cheryl looked scared too, way older and more worn out than usual. "David's already in bad shape, Jessica can't have anything happen to her."

Manuel was there, trying to calm Cheryl down. "Ma'am, don't worry, everything will be okay."

Albert's eyes were dark as he stared at Yvette's pale face and furrowed brows, even while she was passed out. He bent down to pick her up.

Cheryl was about to stop him, but seeing how worried and tense Albert was, she let her hand drop.

After thinking it over, Cheryl finally let Albert take Yvette home.

Yvette had no idea how long she slept, only that it was a deep, dreamless sleep, like she'd lost a chunk of her memory.

When she finally woke up, the first thing she saw was the IV drip hanging above her.

Her eyes followed the clear tube down to the back of her hand.

"You're awake?" Albert's tired voice came from beside her.

Yvette's body went stiff, and when she turned to see Albert sitting next to her, she realized she wasn't in the hospital anymore.

She gasped and tried to sit up, but Albert gently pushed her back down.

"Don't move," Albert said, frowning. "You're on an IV."

"Don't touch me," Yvette snapped, disgusted.

Albert's jaw tightened, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face, but he didn't back off. "If you stay still, I won't touch you."

Yvette glared at him before lying back down.

The room was simple yet elegant, clearly expensive, but it wasn't the Valdemar Mansion or Albert's place on the east side of the city.

Judging by the fancy decor and the model airplanes in the display case, it seemed to be Albert's place.

Yvette frowned. "Why did you bring me here? This isn't where I should be."

She vaguely remembered being in the hospital, a false alarm with David's vitals, and then Cheryl showing up out of nowhere.

With everything happening at once, she felt overwhelmed.

But how she ended up at Albert's house, she had no clue.

Albert, seeing her lie back down, sat down too. "You fainted."

He watched her for a moment, then said carefully, "You stayed up all night without eating, and your body couldn't handle it."

Yvette didn't care about any of that. Her voice was hoarse as she asked, "How's David?"

Even in her state, all she cared about was David.

Albert's heart clenched, and he couldn't hide his irritation. "You fainted. Can't you worry about yourself for once instead of him?"

"I'm fine," Yvette said, trying to get up again. "I need to go to the hospital."

Albert said, "Grandma and Manuel are there, and they've got the best doctors in the country. Can't you just stay here and rest?"

"I said I'm fine," Yvette insisted. "I need to be there, or I won't be at ease."

Albert called out, "Yvette!"

Her stubbornness felt like a dull knife grinding against his heart.Ignoring the hurt look on his face, Yvette used her teeth and one hand to yank out the IV needle. She didn't care if it bled; she sat up, but her legs felt like jelly, barely able to hold her up.

"Yvette! Lie down!" Albert was frantic.

Yvette acted like she didn't hear him.

Thinking about David still lying in that hospital bed, his fate uncertain, she forced her weak body to get up and head for the door.

Footsteps followed her, and before she could reach the door, Albert had already grabbed her.

Seeing Yvette's stubbornness, Albert's veins bulged slightly on his forehead. He wanted to tie her to the bed.

After a few moments of restraint, he just blocked her way, his voice cold as he commanded, "Eat something, and I'll take you to the hospital."

Yvette looked at Albert skeptically, wanting to fight him, but she was too weak. Waves of dizziness hit her, and despite the deep sleep, her body was still too weak to support her.

She finally calmed down a bit, realizing she needed to rest well, or she wouldn't have the energy to take care of David when he got back to the regular ward.

She glanced back at the big bed not far away and turned to walk back.

After just two steps, Albert's face darkened, and he directly picked her up, carrying her to the bed with a commanding presence.

His swift actions startled Yvette, bringing back countless similar memories, making her tense up. "What are you doing, Albert?"

Albert's gaze swept over her face, gently placing her on the bed, but his tone remained cold. "I'm just putting you back on the bed, Yvette. I wouldn't do anything to a woman as sick as you!"

Sneering inwardly, Yvette knew it was always Albert who maliciously speculated about others. Too weak to argue, she turned her back to him, ending the conversation.

Albert watched her cold demeanor, exhaling slowly. "I've asked the housekeeper to prepare some food. I'll take a shower, and then we'll eat together."

While Albert freshened up, Yvette forced herself to the dining room and sat down to eat at the prepared table.

Albert, now changed, rushed out of the room, his tense expression relaxing upon seeing Yvette still there.

Albert sat beside her, and the housekeeper brought his utensils, placing them in front of him.

Just as he was about to reach for them, Yvette put down her fork, her gaze firm. "I've finished eating. Can you take me to the hospital now?"

Albert's expression changed slightly, pausing for two seconds before getting up to grab the car keys without a word.

The housekeeper instinctively spoke up, "Mrs. Valdemar, let Mr. Valdemar finish his meal first!"

Yvette had fainted and rested a bit, but Albert hadn't slept a wink, hadn't eaten a bite, and he was still injured.

The housekeeper looked at Albert with concern. "Mr. Valdemar hasn't eaten or rested at all..."

"Are you very hungry? Then don't go to the hospital, I'll go by myself," Yvette interrupted, not wanting to hear more.

It was Albert's persistent entanglement that led to the car accident. He was fine here, but David's life was hanging in the balance.

All of this was because of her, and the moral pressure and unspeakable guilt made it impossible for her to stay out of it and pretend nothing was wrong.

She got up and headed for the door.

Albert shot a warning glance at the housekeeper, grabbed the keys, and followed Yvette.

"I'm not hungry," Albert said.
