Chapter 390 The Inevitable Married Life

The sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting a dappled pattern.

The earth seemed to be covered with a light layer of gold, making people feel warm.

Vincent parked the car downstairs.

Yvette was about to open the car door and step out when Albert got out first and opened the door for her.

Yvette didn't say much, got out of the car, and didn't look back at him.

Vincent followed behind Albert. "Mr. Valdemar, you haven't fully recovered yet. Let me help you."

"No need." Albert waved his hand casually and followed Yvette.

Ever since Yvette discovered that he had deceived her, the atmosphere between them had been tense.

Watching her walk away still a bit angry, Albert began to feel guilty again.

Albert stepped forward and grabbed Yvette's wrist. "Still angry?"

Yvette clenched her fist, letting him hold her, but didn't answer his question. "Didn't I say? We'll talk about it when your leg is better."

Last time, Albert pretended to faint from pain to keep her.

Through his anxiety and persistent entreaties, he got Yvette to promise to talk when his leg was better.

Albert looked down at her, the shadow of his long eyelashes falling on his lower eyelids. "I'm already better. No matter how long you want to be angry, I'll wait for you."

Yvette frowned and looked up at him. "Albert, if you don't want to make me angry, then stop talking. Don't say these things in front of the children."

Albert's thin lips pressed together, and he didn't ask further. Since she hadn't said she was leaving, he felt a bit more at ease.

When they entered the house, the tense atmosphere around them dissipated a lot.

BoBo and CiCi were sitting on the balcony reading and sunbathing. Hearing the door, they looked up.

Seeing Yvette and Albert, the two children immediately put down their books and ran towards them.

"Mommy!"

BoBo and CiCi excitedly threw themselves at Yvette, almost knocking her over.

Albert reached out to help, but Yvette had already embraced the two children.

Yvette kissed the children's faces, her eyes slightly red with excitement. "Did you miss Mommy?"

CiCi nodded vigorously. "Yes, yes! We missed you a lot! We listened to you, went to kindergarten, and behaved at home!"

BoBo hugged Yvette's neck, burying his head in her chest. "Mommy, I missed you too."

"Mommy missed you too!" after saying that, Yvette glanced back at Albert. "I can hold the kids, just take care of your leg."

Hearing Yvette's words, BoBo and CiCi lifted their heads from Yvette's neck and looked at Albert timidly.

Under the children's gaze, Albert's face stiffened slightly, not knowing how to face them.

BoBo blinked and looked at Albert for a while before suddenly asking, "Is your leg still not better?"

Albert's throat tightened. "What?"

CiCi looked worried. "Does your leg still hurt? Didn't the doctor fix it? How about BoBo and I give you a massage later? When our legs hurt, Mommy massages us."

Albert then realized that BoBo and CiCi were concerned about his leg.

Albert's Adam's apple moved slightly, a touch of emotion flashing across his face.

"I'm better now. With more rest, it won't hurt anymore. Thank you for your concern." Albert's usually cold voice softened, the clean tone carrying a gentle breath.

His already pleasant voice, now filled with tenderness, reached Yvette's ears like a feather lightly brushing, making her feel a tingling sensation.

Yvette didn't turn around but seemed to see the gentle expression on his face.

CiCi, not sensing the subtle atmosphere, just smelled the reassuring scent on Yvette and kept rubbing her soft little face against Yvette's chin like a cute kitten.

Yvette was amused and started playing with the children.

Albert stood still, watching Yvette and the children laugh and play, thinking of the children's concern for him, a long-lost warmth surged in his cold heart.

Night fell. After putting the children to sleep, Yvette went to her room to shower. As soon as the water hit her body, the bathroom door suddenly opened.

Yvette thought it was the children waking up to find her, so she opened the glass door of the shower a bit, intending to coax them back to bed.

But when she opened the glass door and stuck her head out, she unexpectedly met Albert's deep eyes.

Why did he suddenly come in?

Yvette was startled, looking down at her naked body. She instinctively turned her back to him, not wanting Albert to see, even forgetting to close the glass door.

With the bathroom lights fully on, suddenly being naked in front of Albert made Yvette feel unnatural, hunching her shoulders and not daring to look back at him. "Why didn't you knock before coming in?"

Yvette's voice carried a hint of complaint. Albert was blocking the shower door, leaving her no chance to grab a towel to cover herself, making her feel flustered and awkward.

Albert raised an eyebrow. "Why are you hiding? It's not like we haven't done things in the bathroom before."

It was precisely because they had done things in the bathroom before that Yvette felt uneasy!

Yvette swallowed. "With your leg in this condition, what could happen?"

Albert was a bit dissatisfied with her doubt. "How about we try now and see if anything can happen?"

As he spoke, Albert pushed open the glass door of the shower with one hand and unbuttoned his shirt with the other.

Albert's stance completely unnerved Yvette.

Yvette had already admitted that she was Yvette, his wife, and marital life was unavoidable.

Yvette was a bit nervous. "No need!"

She knew that doubting Albert was the biggest mistake she had just made.

Yvette, naked and trapped in the shower, couldn't even grab a towel, feeling like a fish on a chopping board, at Albert's mercy.

Yvette quickly changed her tone. "I know you can, but I need to shower now!"

Even without turning around, Yvette could still feel Albert's burning gaze sweeping over her naked body from top to bottom.

Albert didn't push further. His leg indeed couldn't get wet, making it unsuitable to do such things in the bathroom.

He slightly curled his lips and asked her meaningfully, "Then I'll wait for you to finish your shower?"
