Chapter 263 The Dispute Between Yvette and Violet

Facing Violet's accusations, Yvette just gave a nonchalant smile.

She shrugged and said coolly, "I'm just laying out the facts. Didn't think you'd get so worked up. We're married, having sex is part of the deal."

Yvette eyed Violet thoughtfully and asked, "Do you really think he'd stop sleeping with anyone just for you?"

Yvette knew that while Violet could handle Albert marrying her, she couldn't stand his obsession with Yvette.

After all, as the first female pilot of North Airlines, Violet had been with Albert for years without ever getting intimate.

In front of Violet, Albert had always been a man of strong self-control and low sexual desire.

Violet could convince herself that even if Albert married Yvette, he didn't love her. However, his insatiable longing for Yvette was a side of him that Violet had never witnessed before.

No matter how much it hurt, Violet could only grit her teeth and bear it.

Because Yvette was not only Albert's wife but also the mother of his child.

Violet was so mad her hand shook as she reached for her coffee. "He's just doing his husbandly duties. If you really had him hooked, why would he be willing to divorce you?"

Yvette blinked and smiled. "Husband's duties? Have you forgotten why we got married?"

Violet's face went pale instantly.

How could she forget? Albert married Yvette because she was pregnant.

"You took advantage of him when he was heartbroken. If I hadn't left, he never would've been with you."

Violet got more and more agitated as she spoke.

Yvette frowned, knowing Violet had a point. Whether he mistook her for someone else or not, he "loved" Violet back then.

A flash of embarrassment crossed Yvette's face, and she stared into Violet's eyes. "Ms. Swift, no matter why he was with me, you forced me to divorce him so you could marry Albert while we were still married, and you call me shameless."

Yvette raised her voice, "I want to know, how can a mistress call a legal wife shameless?"

Yvette's words resonated loudly enough in the café that the customers turned to observe, murmuring and gesturing amongst themselves.

Violet's body stiffened, not expecting Yvette to say this in front of so many people. She shrank her shoulders. "You did it on purpose!"

"If you didn't provoke me, I wouldn't bother to scold you." Yvette chuckled, raising her hand to take a sip of water.

Yvette put down the water and stood up. "Alright, we've met. I'm leaving. I don't need to pay for my water, please pay for your coffee yourself. Goodbye."

Yvette left the café with a cold expression, and Violet, wanting to follow, was halted by the waiter requesting payment.

The surrounding whispers grew louder, and Violet reluctantly paid the bill before rushing out of the café.

She jogged a few steps and finally caught up with Yvette by the roadside.

Violet grabbed Yvette's arm. "I'm not done talking!"

Yvette was suddenly pulled, and she turned back angrily. "What do you want? Isn't this embarrassing enough?"

She thought Violet would arrogantly lecture her, but to her surprise, Violet clung to Yvette's hand, looking pleading.

"Yvette, for the sake of us being colleagues before, can you help me?" Violet's eyes welled up with tears, her voice breaking. "I'm really in a tough spot right now. After leaving Albert, you can marry anyone you want, but it's different for me."

Yvette was taken aback, staring at Violet in confusion.

Violet's chest heaved slightly. "If I don't marry Albert, I'll have to marry someone I don't love to save my family's company. Please, Yvette, help me."

Yvette was shocked by Violet's desperate plea.

She looked exactly like her former self.

Yvette and Violet's struggle was fully observed by three men in a car not far away.

The trio squinted at them, unwilling to divert their gaze even for a second.

One of the men, Bradley Harrison, asked, "Is that Micah's niece?"

Another man, Patrick Richardson, looked at the photo and then at the two women. "The face in the photo Lisa sent is clear, but you can't see the faces of these two women clearly. It should be one of them."

Seeing Yvette and Violet still struggling in the distance, the men kept watching while discussing.

"Who would have thought, after all these years, Micah is still alive."

"Not only is he alive, but he's also betraying Lisa with his niece. Damn it!"

"They're coming over, stop talking!" One of the men straightened up. "Which one is it? Who do we grab?"

The man in the passenger seat, Peter Nelson, looked at the photo again. "Who can tell? Just grab them both. We'll release the one who isn't her in a place without surveillance."

"Alright."

Yvette's expression darkened.

"Violet, are we that close? Even if we're not enemies, we're not friends either. What does it have to do with me if you marry someone you don't love?"

Violet was relentless, following Yvette. "Yvette."

As they were struggling, a car door suddenly opened as they passed by.

Yvette instinctively moved aside, afraid of blocking the person in the car.

But before she could move away, Patrick and Bradley suddenly got out of the car and grabbed her.

Yvette was startled and instinctively turned back, only to see Violet being shoved into the car before her.

"Help..."

Before Yvette could finish her sentence, Patrick covered her mouth and nose and shoved her into the van.

At the Valdemar Group office, Vincent stood trembling in front of Albert and said cautiously, "Sorry, our men lost track of Ms. Swift. But we are sure she has found information about Micah."

Albert's face was stern as he glanced at Vincent, who swallowed hard and continued, "Our men are already investigating where she went after shaking off the tail. We should have news soon."

Albert rubbed his temples and waved his hand, signaling Vincent to leave.

Strangely, for some reason, he had been feeling inexplicably uneasy since earlier.

The phone on the desk rang, and Albert picked it up. "Speak."

"Mr. Valdemar?" Patrick's sneer came from the other end. "Your men are looking for Ms. Swift, right?"

Albert's hand froze at his temple, and he frowned. "Who are you?"

A loud slap came through the phone, followed by Violet's crying voice. "Albert, save me."

Albert opened his mouth to speak, but then he heard another woman's faint moan from the other end.

His body stiffened, the voice was so familiar it made his heart tremble.

It was Yvette's voice!
