Chapter 436 So Unwilling
"Yvette, I want a baby."
Albert's voice was low and husky, filled with a magnetic desire, as he whispered softly in her ear.
Yvette didn't respond, just endured it.
Feeling Albert's breath of desire, Yvette, in a daze, recalled the conversation between BoBo and CiCi before bed.
As the two kids were about to fall asleep, BoBo suddenly asked, "Mommy, will Daddy still be our daddy in the future?"
Yvette was instantly wide awake, stunned for a moment before asking, "BoBo, why do you ask that?"
"We haven't seen Daddy for a long time. We're living in his house now, right?"
Yvette knew he was referring to Albert. She nodded, unsure of how to explain to BoBo. "Yes, it's his house. Do you not like him?"
"No!" BoBo quickly replied. "I was just asking. He's... okay, I guess."
BoBo's expression was as usual, but Yvette understood her child. She saw a hint of shyness on his face, which probably meant he liked Albert.
Yvette was moved. Could this be the natural bond between father and son?
Yvette thought for a moment. "BoBo, tell Mommy. If you had to live with him all the time and couldn't see Daddy, would you be sad?"
BoBo's expression was conflicted. He carefully chose his words. "Yes, but Mommy, I want to live with you."
"You will, you'll live with Mommy." Yvette touched BoBo's head, moved. "Mommy will always live with you and CiCi."
"Then it's okay. Maybe in the future, CiCi and I won't be sad about not seeing Daddy." BoBo blinked and looked up at Yvette. "Mommy, will you have more brothers or sisters with him?"
"I don't want to, but..." Yvette said honestly, "Mommy can't promise. Would you mind?"
BoBo asked, "Will the brother or sister be as cute as CiCi? If so, I wouldn't mind. They're all Mommy's babies."
Albert's kisses moved from Yvette's forehead slowly down to her nose and then to the corners of her eyes.
He tasted the slight saltiness of her tears.
Albert stopped, looking down at her.
Yvette had her eyes closed, with faint tear marks in the corners.
Albert's breath grew heavier. "Do you really not want this?"
Yvette couldn't speak; she just shook her head repeatedly.
Albert frowned deeply, finally pulling away and lying beside Yvette.
Yvette got up and hurried to the bathroom.
Albert watched her retreating figure, his expression growing colder. He grabbed a few tissues from the bedside table, wiped himself, put on his pajamas, and took a shower in the master bathroom.
Returning to the study, he continued reading the dense, cold text, finding it better than being with Yvette and feeling frustrated.
---
On Friday afternoon, the kindergarten was filled with laughter and joy. Yvette, dressed in a pink pinafore dress fitting the kindergarten's style, came to attend BoBo and CiCi's parent open day.
The kindergarten was decorated in bright colors and was full of childlike fun. Yvette walked in, blending perfectly with the environment.
Since the teachers usually brought the kids to the gate after school, Yvette had never been to BoBo and CiCi's classroom.
She looked around, searching for signs in the kindergarten, but still managed to get lost.
Suddenly, she heard a child crying.
Yvette turned to see a tall man trying to hold a little girl's hand, but the girl was crying and shaking him off, looking very upset.
The man was at a loss. "I brought you a toy car. What is wrong with it?"
"I don't want it! I don't want a toy car!" The girl cried, then saw Yvette's glowing headband and immediately pointed at it. "I want the headband! I want the headband!"
Yvette understood their "dispute" instantly.
For today's event, the teacher had said each child should bring a gift for another child.
It seemed this dad brought a toy car, but his daughter didn't like it and didn't want to give it as a gift.
Yvette couldn't help but smile. She walked over to the father and daughter, taking off her headband.
She squatted in front of the girl, offering the headband. "Do you want this?"
The crying girl gradually stopped, not as willful as with her dad. Seeing Yvette, she shyly nodded but didn't reach out.
"If you like it, I'll give it to you, okay?"
The girl, still shy, tugged at her dad's sleeve. "I want that..."
The man looked apologetic. "I'm sorry, I didn't know what she liked. If you're willing to give her the headband, can I trade you the toy car?"
"Of course, the toy car is much more valuable." Yvette smiled, then said to the girl, "Sweetie, come here. Since your dad agreed, you can take it. Let me help you put it on."
The man was about to say something when the girl rushed to Yvette, lowering her head. "Thank you!"
After putting on the headband, Yvette kindly took a photo with her phone and showed it to the girl. "Do you like it?"
"Yes! I love it!" The girl was thrilled, hopping towards the classroom.
Yvette watched her go, smiling. She checked the time and realized there were only a few minutes left before the teacher's scheduled time.
Yvette nodded politely to the man and was about to leave when she accidentally stepped on a small stone.
She stumbled, and the man quickly came to help, but he also stepped on the stone, causing them both to fall sideways.
The man lunged forward, and Yvette's flawless face suddenly loomed large before him.
Her skin was delicate, with a faint blush, and her eyes sparkled like two brilliant gems.
The scent of her hair filled the man's chest, and he immediately heard his heart beating erratically.
Yvette was startled, pushing the man away. "Sorry, sorry, I have to go."
Watching Yvette's hurried departure, Clifford Hayes was momentarily dazed.
He hadn't expected to find such a beautiful teacher at his niece's kindergarten.
Clifford chuckled to himself. He should have helped his sister with the kids sooner.
