Chapter 647 Waiting for My Husband and Children

Golden sand stretched beneath their feet as gentle waves lapped at the shore, bringing cool sea breezes with each rhythmic crash.

Yvette stood on the beach, gazing toward the distant horizon as if admiring the scenery.

She occasionally glanced back toward the shore, brushing away strands of hair the sea breeze had tousled, searching for three familiar figures.

Suddenly, a man's shadow blocked her view.

The man wore sunglasses and casual summer clothes. "Excuse me, can I get to the seafood market from this direction?"

Yvette turned, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, and nodded. "Yes, just keep walking straight along this path."

The man smiled with relief. "Thank you!"

"You're welcome." Yvette replied politely. Since he was blocking her view, she took half a step back to move around him.

Having gotten his answer, the man didn't immediately leave. Seemingly oblivious to Yvette's slight discomfort, he removed his sunglasses.

He wore a warm smile, his eyes showing clear interest as he looked at Yvette. "I really appreciate your help. I don't suppose you'd be interested in joining me for dinner? We could chat a bit?"

Yvette looked surprised, glancing around before pointing to herself in confusion. "Are you talking to me?"

"Of course." The man smiled, meeting her eyes. "You seem to be traveling alone?"

Yvette realized the man probably assumed she was single and had approached her under the guise of asking for directions.

"I'm sorry, I think there's been a misunderstanding," Yvette quickly explained. "I'm not traveling alone—I'm waiting here for my husband and our two children."

The man raised his eyebrows in surprise. "You're married?"

"Yes." Yvette nodded.

The man hesitated for a moment but didn't seem ready to give up. "I see. Well, would you mind if I kept you company while you wait? We could chat to pass the time."

Yvette felt uncomfortable. The man probably thought she was lying about being married just to avoid having dinner with him.

Yvette smiled helplessly and explained politely, "Really, that's not necessary. I'm fine waiting by myself."

Her voice was gentle but carried an unmistakable firmness.

The man finally understood that Yvette was genuinely rejecting him. He smiled awkwardly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean any harm. I was just hoping to make a friend. I hope you and your family have a wonderful trip."

Yvette nodded slightly. "Thank you, and you as well."

Just then, two clear voices interrupted their conversation.

"Mommy!"

Yvette turned to see Albert walking toward her with long strides, holding BoBo and CiCi's hands.

With Albert's long legs and large steps, BoBo and CiCi had to jog to keep up. The sight made Yvette smile.

The man, who had been about to leave, stopped and looked at the approaching trio in surprise. "Is that...?"

"Yes." Yvette's guarded tone softened, taking on a note of pride. "That's my husband and our two children."

The man was speechless for a moment. "Well, that explains it."

"Daddy, hurry up! Mommy looks like she's having such a nice chat with that man!"

Seeing Albert's lack of response, CiCi grew anxious, tugging on his hand with all her might.

Even the usually composed BoBo couldn't sit still. He held Albert's hand and looked up at him. "Daddy, aren't we going over there?"

Albert pressed his lips together. "Should we go over now?"

"Of course!" CiCi said urgently. "If we don't go now, what if that man takes Mommy away! BoBo, help me pull Daddy over there!"

The two children frantically tugged Albert in that direction, and he finally started walking toward Yvette.

Albert strode directly to Yvette's side, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and standing beside her.

Tall with broad shoulders, he towered over the other man considerably.

His presence carried a subtle intensity, almost intimidating, as his eyes fixed on the stranger.

The man immediately felt unsettled under Albert's gaze and no longer dared to look at Yvette.

BoBo and CiCi rushed over to Yvette, each wrapping their arms around one of her legs while eyeing the man warily.

Yvette smiled warmly, stroking the children's hair with eyes full of love and tenderness.

"Mommy!" BoBo and CiCi clung to Yvette. "What are you doing, Mommy?"

"I was talking with this gentleman."

Yvette was about to explain that the man had been asking for directions, but he was already growing uncomfortable under the scrutiny from Albert and the children and couldn't stay another second.

"I should get going." The man's voice carried a nervous edge.

The man looked awkwardly at Albert and the children. Their obvious defensiveness and territorial behavior left him feeling embarrassed.

He turned back to Yvette. "I won't disturb your family vacation any longer. Goodbye."

"Goodbye." Yvette's attention was focused on BoBo and CiCi as she responded absently.

Watching the man hurry away, BoBo and CiCi made no effort to hide their displeasure.

CiCi looked up at Yvette. "Mommy, who was that man? Why was he talking to you?"

"That gentleman was looking for the seafood market," Yvette explained with a smile. "He couldn't find it, so he came to ask for directions. He probably could tell we went there last night, so he thought I might know the way."

BoBo relaxed slightly. "Did you tell him how to get there, Mommy?"

Yvette nodded. "Of course."

"Mommy's always so helpful—she definitely would have told him." CiCi's tone was matter-of-fact.

Yvette smiled and touched their faces, picking up the bucket from the sand. "Do you still want this?"

"Yes!" BoBo reached for it. "We just saw a little crab—we want to catch it!"

"Me too!"

BoBo and CiCi grabbed their buckets and ran off. Yvette watched their retreating figures with amusement.

Children were like that—their emotions came and went like summer storms.

Yvette blinked, then suddenly looked up with a teasing expression. "That was quite the move, Albert."
