Chapter 417 Mrs. Valdemar, Seems Somewhat Familiar

Despite their endless arguments, their bodies were still incredibly compatible.

Albert gently bit her earlobe to finish, then carried her into the bathroom.

Yvette was so exhausted that she couldn't even lift a finger. After taking a bath, she lay down on the bed and almost instantly fell asleep.

She slept almost until the afternoon.

When Yvette woke up, the thick curtains in the room completely blocked out the light. She saw Albert sitting on the nearby sofa, the computer in front of him the only light source. Its cold glow outlined his chiseled face with a halo.

His expression was focused and serious, his fingers moving quickly on the keyboard, staring intently at the computer screen, seemingly working.

The room was very quiet, with only the sound of Albert's fingers tapping on the keyboard.

This quiet and steady atmosphere made Yvette feel a long-lost sense of relaxation. She lay on the bed without moving, quietly watching Albert.

At this moment, time seemed to stop, the whole world disappeared, leaving only the two of them.

How wonderful it would be if there were no messy things between them, only this moment?

A faint bitterness spread in Yvette's heart because she knew it was impossible.

Yvette didn't want to break the tranquility of this moment. She gazed at his profile.

But it seemed her gaze was too intense, and Albert suddenly turned his head.

Their eyes met in the faint computer light, and Albert raised an eyebrow. "Awake?"

Yvette blinked. "Yep."

Albert lowered his eyes, typed a few more words, then got up and walked towards Yvette.

He sat down by the bed, glanced at his watch. "You slept for seven hours."

Yvette replied, "Oh."

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

The assistant assigned to Albert by the branch office walked in.

"Mr. Valdemar, here are the clothes you requested." The woman put down two bags and said softly, "The food will be delivered in five minutes."

The woman had a Novarian face, a hot figure, long wavy hair, and a tight-fitting uniform skirt, making her a sexy woman.

Yvette instinctively glanced at the assistant twice.

Albert waved his hand. "You may leave."

A trace of reluctance flashed in the woman's eyes. "Yes, Mr. Valdemar."

After the woman left, Albert immediately dialed a number. "Please assign me a male assistant, thank you."

It seemed the other party agreed to his request, and Albert hung up.

Yvette was a bit confused. "What happened to her?"

The female assistant had only been in the room for a minute or two, and Yvette didn't think she had done anything wrong.

Hearing this, Albert didn't lift his head, his voice tinged with sarcasm. "As expected of a branch led by David, trying to gain favor in this way."

Over the years, Albert had seen all kinds of women, and he immediately understood the look in that woman's eyes. It was resentment towards him for bringing Yvette.

Yvette probably didn't like this woman either, otherwise, she wouldn't have looked at her so warily.

He thought she would be happy that he sent her away.

Thinking of this, Albert curved his lips and handed the bags the woman brought to Yvette. "There's a banquet later, change into this dress and accompany me."

Yvette frowned. "A banquet? With whom?"

Albert didn't explain much, only vaguely said, "Some business partners."

"Oh," Yvette responded.

A lavish banquet was held in the most luxurious villa.

The venue was decorated like a dream, with huge crystal chandeliers shining brightly on the ceiling, casting a warm glow.

Dressed in a gown, Yvette walked into the banquet hall, holding Albert's arm.

The gown highlighted Yvette's graceful figure perfectly, lightly wrapping her curvaceous body without being vulgar.

Her skin appeared more delicate under the bright lights, enough to attract everyone's attention. Her long hair was pinned up, revealing the elegant lines of her shoulders and neck.

Their appearance became the highlight of the banquet, drawing everyone's gaze.

Those gazes varied, each hiding different thoughts.

Soon, the entire banquet centered around Albert, with people greeting him.

Everyone exchanged pleasantries, talking to Albert while constantly glancing at Yvette.

Finally, a local group president joked with a smile, "Mr. Valdemar, you usually don't have women around you. Who is this lady you brought this time?"

Albert seemed to be waiting for this question, a smile flashing in his eyes. "My wife, Yvette."

Everyone was shocked, looking at each other in surprise, and the previously lively banquet fell into a moment of silence.

Suddenly, a female voice broke the silence, "Ms. Orlando? Oh no, Mrs. Valdemar, you look familiar."

Yvette looked up, her body slightly stiff.

The woman speaking was Niki Lynn, one of the vice presidents of the Valdemar Group's Eldoria branch.

In the company, she was in the same faction as David and had met "Jessica" several times, occasionally chatting.

Yvette's eyes flickered, and she smiled awkwardly. "Really?"

Albert's cold gaze swept over Niki, and being skilled at reading people, Niki immediately smiled and said, "I must have mistaken you for someone else. Mrs. Valdemar looks very much like a friend of mine."

"Really?" Albert said coldly, "You must not be familiar with Novarian faces, seeing similarities everywhere."

Albert's tone was unfriendly, but Niki didn't dare to show dissatisfaction.

"You're right, Mr. Valdemar," Niki said, holding her forehead. "I need to get to know more Novarian girls, but they are all so beautiful."

Everyone continued chatting as if nothing had happened.

Albert withdrew his arm from Yvette's and wrapped it around her waist, leading her aside.

Albert bent down slightly and whispered in Yvette's ear, "I'll take you to get something to eat."

"No need, I'm not hungry." Yvette's face was a bit pale.

Niki wasn't a fool and could naturally guess who she really was.

Yvette had anticipated this moment, but she didn't expect it to come so soon.

"You said you weren't hungry when you just woke up and only ate a little." Albert's voice turned colder. "You should eat more."

Yvette felt a bit helpless. "Got it, I'll go eat. You don't need to worry about me."

Yvette pushed him away and had just taken two steps when Albert's cold voice came from behind. "Yvette."

Yvette turned back. "What?"
