Chapter 419 Helping Violet Vent
David felt the tearing pain in his chest and took a deep breath. "Fiona, help me book the earliest flight from Luken to Eldoria, okay?"
Just as Yvette and the old professor were having an engaging conversation, the professor's assistant suddenly came over and interrupted them.
The assistant whispered something in the professor's ear, and he nodded excitedly.
Seeing Yvette's puzzled expression, the professor smiled and began to explain, "An old friend of mine from Novaria will be joining us for this dinner with his subordinates. We can have a more in-depth discussion then!"
As he spoke, the professor turned his head, his eyes lighting up. "They're here!"
Yvette followed the professor's gaze and saw a man walking towards them, with a face she knew all too well behind him.
Sylvia?
Yvette stood frozen, unable to hide the surprise in her eyes. "Sylvia?"
Sylvia was also visibly surprised. "Yvette?"
The professor seemed taken aback that they knew each other. "Acquaintances?"
"Yes, we've been good friends for many years," Yvette said with a smile.
The professor and his "old friend from Novaria" began to exchange pleasantries, while Sylvia pulled Yvette over to the food area.
Sylvia was overjoyed. "Yvette, what are you doing here? This is Eldoria! You came all this way?"
"I came with Albert to attend this dinner. The Valdemar Group seems very interested in this project. What about you? Why are you here?" Yvette said, looking at her, not planning to mention that she had spent a few years in Eldoria.
"I came on a business trip with my boss, the one who just brought me here." Sylvia pointed to the professor's old friend. "I wasn't planning to come because it's so far, but this project aligns perfectly with my current research topic, so I came. I'm glad I did, otherwise, how would I have run into you in Eldoria! Yvette, we can have a paid vacation for a few days!"
Sylvia looked around and asked Yvette, "Didn't you say you came with Albert? Where is he?"
"Socializing," Yvette said briefly.
In the garden of the banquet hall, Ingrid Valdemar clutched her dress, speaking in a low voice into her phone, "Violet, Albert really brought her here. You should have come with Mr. Morgan to put her in her place!"
Violet said, "I'm heavily pregnant now, it's inconvenient for me. It's not that Rodolfo didn't want to bring me. Don't worry, Ingrid. It's all in the past. I'm trying my best to move on, and you shouldn't hold a grudge either. Albert is the head of the Valdemar Family. If you offend him, your life won't be easy. There's no need to do this for me..."
"Who says there's no need!" Ingrid said with displeasure, "We've been friends for so many years. I've seen your love for Albert. He's my cousin, he won't do anything to me!"
Violet called out, "Ingrid..."
"Don't be so kind! Just wait!" Ingrid's eyes were full of dissatisfaction. "I'll find a way to help you vent your anger!"
Violet said, "No, Ingrid..."
The lack of strong opposition from the phone made Ingrid feel that Violet was worried about her. This thought deepened Ingrid's displeasure with Yvette. Why did Yvette have to come between Violet and Albert?
Without Yvette's interference, Violet would be her sister-in-law by now, and she wouldn't have had to marry that old man Rodolfo. Their long-standing friendship wouldn't have turned awkward. Angrily, Ingrid adjusted her shawl and stormed inside, only to be stopped by Albert as soon as she entered the villa.
Albert's aura was cold as he walked up to Ingrid, looking down at her. "What are you planning to do now?"
Albert's voice was icy, and Ingrid instantly felt a chill.
She looked up at Albert's handsome face, his deep eyes staring at her, and she couldn't help but shrink back.
Albert's cold sneer drew the attention of those around them.
Fortunately, this was Eldoria, and not everyone could understand Novarian.
Ingrid's face stiffened, feeling a bit embarrassed. She pouted. "Albert! What do you mean? I just want to talk to Yvette, is that not allowed?"
Albert sneered, his voice growing colder. "What do you want to do? She is your sister-in-law."
Albert's words were as cold as winter frost, without a trace of warmth, but Ingrid, driven by her sense of justice, couldn't hear the warning in his words.
"I don't consider her my sister-in-law! My only sister-in-law is Violet!" Ingrid crossed her arms, throwing a tantrum.
"Ingrid." Albert's eyes were indifferent, less friendly than looking at a stranger. "Before you throw a tantrum, think about whether the other person can tolerate you."
"Albert!" Ingrid stomped her foot. "We played together for many years as children. Are you really going to ruin our sibling relationship for this woman? We are blood relatives!"
Albert didn't want to waste any more words with Ingrid. He glanced at her. "If you continue to make a scene, don't blame me for not letting you into the banquet."
Ingrid was stunned. She had worked hard to get the invitation from her father, and Albert was going to keep her out for Yvette?
"You think you can just keep me out? This banquet isn't hosted by you! I..." Ingrid said, shaking her shoulders.
Albert frowned, slowly raised his hand, and a group of bodyguards appeared, cutting Ingrid off.
Ingrid was startled, standing there in disbelief. "Albert?"
Albert didn't give Ingrid another glance, instructing the bodyguards, "Watch Miss Valdemar. If she steps into the banquet, you're all fired."
"Yes!" The bodyguards responded in unison, a group of tall men standing in front of her like a wall, blocking her path.
Albert had already walked away.
Ingrid called out, "Albert! Albert! Albert!"
Blocked by bodyguards and watched by everyone at the banquet entrance, Ingrid felt deeply humiliated.
Yvette, that bitch, had bewitched Albert so much that he didn't even care about family!
Thinking this, Ingrid clenched her fists, growing even more resentful of Yvette.
But with the door in between, Ingrid couldn't enter the banquet. She couldn't help Violet vent her anger, and she had to swallow her own anger!
As she bit her lip in regret, she suddenly saw a familiar figure.
