Chapter 307 Could These Boy and Girl Twins be His Children?

In the Valdemar Group's President's Office, a humidifier puffed out white mist while sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Albert finished his coffee just as Vincent knocked and walked in.

Vincent was about to speak when he noticed the bruises on three of Albert's fingers.

"How'd you get hurt?"

Albert glanced at his hand. "Just a minor injury."

He hadn't expected Yvette to slam the door so hard, injuring his hand.

Her expression at that moment flashed through his mind.

He was wrong; Yvette wasn't a harmless little kitten but a tigress.

Albert shrugged off the injury and casually asked, "Did James and David notice anything weird later?"

Vincent reported seriously, "Nope, they didn't doubt the info and are still searching in the neighboring city."

Albert looked at Vincent with satisfaction, his eyes showing approval. "Good."

Vincent noticed Albert's expression and couldn't help but say, "This isn't a long-term solution. They're married now; can you keep standing between them?"

Albert frowned and looked at him displeasedly. "Don't say things you shouldn't."

Vincent hadn't been gone long when there was another knock on the office door.

Albert didn't look up. "Come in."

"Mr. Valdemar."

A woman's voice caught Albert's attention. Looking up, he spotted a woman in a Valdemar Group uniform with two children. Recognizing their familiar, tender faces, he was momentarily stunned.

The woman, an employee of the Valdemar Group, looked at Albert in panic. "Mr. Valdemar, these two kids were at the office door looking for their parents. When I asked who their daddy was, they pointed to your picture on the wall."

Albert frowned slightly. The two kids couldn't read and probably didn't know the difference between his and David's names.

Lester and Christina exchanged glances, both looking at Albert uncertainly.

Should they call this man "daddy" or not?

Lester thought for a moment and asked, "Do you love mommy?"

Albert pressed his lips together and replied meaningfully, "Yes."

"Daddy!!" The two kids smiled at each other and ran towards Albert.

The female employee, realizing she had stumbled upon some big news, bit her lip excitedly but didn't dare make a sound.

Albert frowned, not expecting this reaction from the two kids. Before he could instruct the employee to escort them out, she bowed and exited the office.

Lester and Christina had already clung to him. Albert, with a dark expression, said discontentedly, "You've got the wrong person."

Christina didn't believe him and nimbly climbed onto Albert, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "You are daddy, the handsome daddy in a suit."

Albert felt a bit uncomfortable. His expression was tense, but he didn't actually dislike it.

Lester, more composed, stood beside him. "Only daddy would say he loves mommy."

Albert's body stiffened, and his tone dropped, making the atmosphere around him colder. "Does your daddy always say that?"

Lester nodded but sensed something in Albert's tone. He frowned and asked suspiciously, "Are you Albert? Then why did you say you love mommy?"

Albert's expression froze for a moment and he only replied, "Yes."

Lester's expression instantly turned unhappy. "Why are you pretending to be daddy?"

"Who would want to pretend to be him?" Albert didn't soften his tone just because Lester was a child. He asked coldly, "Why are you two running around the company? Who brought you here?"

Christina, still not fully understanding, hugged Albert's neck and said, "Mommy and the nanny brought us here today. Mommy had to work, so she left us with the nanny. But then the nanny disappeared, and we saw daddy's picture, so we asked that person."

Lester's young face turned serious. "Even if we found the wrong place, you should make sure we're safe, right?"

Albert snorted, put Christina down, but didn't argue. "Fine, stay here quietly. I'll call your mommy to come get you."

Lester said, "Okay, thank you, Albert."

As Albert took out his phone, he couldn't help but notice Lester's mature demeanor and speech, which was unusual for his age.

On the other end of the line, Yvette's deliberately lowered voice brought Albert back to reality.

"Hello? Who is this?"

"It's me," Albert said in a low voice. "Your two kids are with me."

Yvette gasped. "Don't you dare touch them!"

A vein on Albert's forehead throbbed slightly. He said with restraint, "You lost your kids, and now you're accusing me of harming them?"

Yvette asked in surprise, "Where's the nanny?"

"I don't know," Albert replied coldly. "I have work to do. Come get them as soon as possible."

Yvette's voice remained low. "I'm still discussing a project. Since they're in your office, please watch them for me."

Although she used words like "please," her tone was undeniably firm.

Albert was about to refuse, but Yvette had already decisively hung up.

He frowned and put down the phone. As he glanced up, he was met with two sets of wide eyes, causing the words to dismiss them to disappear.

Albert cleared his throat. He never liked children and didn't want to deal with them. He pointed to the office sofa. "You two sit there quietly and don't move."

"Okay."

Lester and Christina obediently walked to the sofa, sat down with their hands on their laps, and waited quietly.

Albert lowered his head to review documents, but the children's big, watery eyes kept distracting him, making it impossible to concentrate.

Low efficiency was worse than doing nothing.

Albert threw down his pen and asked casually, "Is your mommy happy in Stellaria?"

Christina, seeing that the grumpy Albert was willing to talk to them, immediately became happy. "Yes! And Mommy loves us and daddy very much, and we all love mommy."

A hint of sadness flashed in Albert's eyes, but he quickly concealed it. "Does he treat your mommy well?"

Christina said, "Very well, very well. Daddy treats us and mommy very well! He kisses us every day when he comes home!"

Albert felt as if his heart was wrapped in a fine net, the growing sense of suffocation making it hard to breathe.

Albert lowered his gaze. He shouldn't have asked.

Seeing that Albert was no longer paying attention to them, Christina still wanted to talk to him.

"Albert! Mommy said yesterday that when we return to Eldoria, we can't bathe together anymore. Albert, when did you and daddy start bathing separately?"

Albert had no intention of responding. Lester explained, "Dummy, daddy and Albert are both boys, so they can bathe together until they grow up."

"Oh!" Christina nodded. "Because I'm a girl and you're a boy, we can't bathe together after three. "

"That's right."

Albert suddenly looked up. "Are you almost three years old?"

"Yes!" Lester beamed. "Just two more months, and we'll be three!"

With only two months to go until they turned three, Albert's heart clenched. The timing coincided with Yvette's prenatal check-up report. Could these twins be his?
