Chapter 393 Sleeping with Mom and Dad

Albert watched as Yvette gently held the two children, their eyes a bit dazed from just waking up and a little frightened.

Yvette asked softly, "What's wrong, my darlings? Why are you awake at this hour?"

BoBo pouted. "CiCi had a nightmare and woke up crying. I couldn't comfort her. She insisted on sleeping with Mommy."

BoBo's voice grew quieter, finally sounding his age. "If CiCi isn't there, I'm scared alone too. Mommy, can you come and sleep in our room tonight?"

Yvette looked at the two children, her lips pressed together in sympathy. "Of course! Mommy will stay with you!"

Albert was moved by the scene.

He really shouldn't have talked about those things in front of the children. Yvette loved these two kids, and if he loved Yvette, he should genuinely accept them too.

Yvette turned back and said in a negotiating tone, "I'll stay with the kids tonight, so we'll go ahead."

As Yvette stood up to take the two children away, Albert suddenly stopped her and half-squatted to pick them up.

His usually stern face softened with a faint smile, like the first snow melting. "BoBo, CiCi, how about you sleep with Daddy and Mommy tonight?"

The two children were stunned, seemingly unaccustomed to Albert's new title. They blinked, exchanged curious glances, and looked at Yvette, not daring to speak.

Albert looked at the children's lively expressions and couldn't help but smile. "CiCi, didn't you just have a nightmare? Daddy can fight the monsters. Do you want Daddy to chase away the monsters from your dreams?"

CiCi's face lit up with joy. "Really?"

She looked at Yvette with some anticipation. "Is that okay, Mommy?"

Yvette looked embarrassed. "Isn't that inappropriate?"

Albert's smile faded slightly as he glanced at Yvette. "Do you want to argue in front of the kids?"

Albert didn't wait for her response. He carried the children back to bed.

He thought the children might be unhappy and cause a fuss. But when Albert gently comforted them and coaxed them to sleep, they obediently nestled in his arms.

Seeing Yvette still standing by the bed, Albert said softly, "Your mommy is being naughty, staying up so late."

BoBo immediately defended Yvette, "Our mommy is very good! Mommy, come on!"

CiCi lifted her little head from Albert's arms and smiled at Yvette. "Mommy, come to bed!"

Yvette pressed her lips together. "Coming."

The next morning, Yvette walked the two children to their nearby kindergarten, as she always did.

On the way back, Yvette kept thinking about the scene of Albert sleeping with the children last night, lost in thought.

Just then, her phone rang. It was a local unfamiliar number.

Yvette casually answered, "Hello, who is this?"

"Yvette, it's me." The gentle and soft voice on the other end made Yvette pause.

Yvette frowned slightly, her voice cold. "David?"

"Yes." David didn't seem to notice Yvette's cold tone. "Yvette, I'm back."

No wonder it was a local number.

Yvette pressed her lips together, not speaking.

David had long sensed Yvette's resistance and finally sighed. "Do you really not want to receive my calls?"

Yvette didn't answer his question, only asked coldly, "What do you want?"

"Yes." David's tone was calm. "I know Albert is throwing you a return party. He will announce your identity at the party, right?"

Yvette, who was walking, stopped in her tracks and answered defensively, "You should ask Albert about that."

David said, "No need to ask. I've already received the invitation. I'm just worried that your and the children's identities are a bit awkward now. The only thing I can do is restore your identity. That's why I came back."

Yvette asked skeptically, "What's wrong with my identity?"

David said softly, "Don't worry. I mean, I'm willing to help you cancel the identity of Jessica Valdemar."

David's words made Yvette unhappy. She frowned, her voice becoming colder and more dissatisfied. "I was never Jessica Valdemar. That identity has nothing to do with me. I've always been Yvette."

Yvette didn't want to bring up the past, but thinking about how David had deceived her with the identity of Jessica Valdemar during her amnesia, she couldn't stay calm.

Yvette tightened her jaw, intending to hang up. "If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now."

"What about the children?" David said unhurriedly. "They are my legitimate children, still under my name."

Yvette's body stiffened, her heart skipping a beat. It felt like her weakness was firmly grasped.

David continued, "After you return to Albert, have you thought about how people will talk about the children? When they grow up, they will still be one of the Valdemar Family's heirs, under the spotlight. Do you want them to carry such a stain for life?"

Yvette tightly gripped her phone until her fingertips turned white.

Yvette's breathing became shallow, and she could hear the static on the phone, but she remained silent in response to David's words.

Suddenly, David spoke again, "I can transfer them to your name and erase all records in Stellaria."

Yvette felt an inexplicable panic. "What's your purpose? Why are you doing this?"

David's tone was filled with sadness and disappointment. "After all these years, don't you know how I feel about you? What purpose could I have? I just love you and the children."

Yvette didn't want to hear David's high-sounding words. "What do you want?"

"Yvette." David asked softly, "Can you meet me with the children? I'll handle your identities."
