Chapter 401 Teasing
Albert's brow furrowed slightly. "Found it?"
Vincent said, "Yes, that person captured the last person to enter and leave her room back then. I'm going to meet him tonight."
There was a surge of emotion in the depths of Albert's deep eyes, and his voice unconsciously became hoarse. "Who is it?"
Vincent replied, "That person used to be a detective. After capturing the last person to enter and leave your mother's room, he moved away from Luken. I'm going to get the photos from him tonight and find a way to continue the investigation."
"Okay." Albert's Adam's apple bobbed up and down, reminding, "Arrange a morning schedule to cover it up. James and Lisa have been watching closely lately."
In recent years, James and Lisa had almost assigned people to guard Albert and his subordinates closely, just to prevent him from finding out the truth about his mother's death.
Thinking of this, Albert squinted his eyes slightly, and a dangerous light radiated from his eyes.
No one could stop him from finding the truth.
Vincent said, "Rest assured, I have arranged a routine business trip. Tomorrow morning, I will inspect the project in the neighboring city."
"Okay," Albert responded in a deep voice.
Albert then realized that he was a bit too tense. Vincent had always been reliable and trustworthy, and there was no need for him to remind him so much.
Being too tense about everything could lead to problems. Albert slowly exhaled and didn't ask further.
Vincent's hesitant voice came cautiously. "Mr. Valdemar, I have to leave now. But, your health..."
Albert had been affected by a strong aphrodisiac, and Vincent was still worried.
Albert's thin lips pressed slightly. "I'm fine now."
Vincent suddenly understood. "Congratulations."
Albert was so angered by the teasing in his words that his face turned gloomy, and he hung up directly.
There was news that Yvette went to the mall.
When he heard this news, David's eyes flashed with a trace of surprise.
He had clearly heard that Yvette had been put under house arrest by Albert. How could she go to the mall so quickly?
A vague premonition rose in his heart. As a man, David could almost guess what had made Albert change his mind so quickly.
His Adam's apple slid lightly, and David concealed the look of resentment in his eyes.
David's hands were faintly trembling. He lit a cigarette and hid himself in the swirling smoke, as if this could relieve some of his emotions.
Thinking back to when his relationship with Yvette was still "good," he was just a bystander in her and Albert's relationship.
She would complain about the faint smell of smoke on Albert, but that complaint was more like a coquettish act.
When she lost her memory, he took her to Eldoria, and he would also light a cigarette to relieve his irritation.
Yvette, however, showed disgust towards the smell of smoke on him, saying it was bad for the baby in her belly and hoped he wouldn't smoke anymore.
But he remembered that when she complained about Albert, she said, "Smoking is bad for his health."
Thinking of all these things, David still felt like there was a heavy stone blocking his chest.
He didn't even dare to ask "why," because the answer was obvious and one he didn't want to accept. she didn't love him.
David's face turned gloomy. He pressed out the cigarette butt and stood up.
Almost immediately upon arriving at the mall, David spotted Yvette on the first floor, leisurely strolling with several bags in her hands. A closer look revealed they were children's items from BoBo and CiCi. Controlling his still not very agile legs, David slowly walked toward her.
But after just two steps, David stopped again when he saw Yvette walk into a luxury men's clothing store. The clerk enthusiastically greeted her, but Yvette, looking awkward, waved her hand to indicate she didn't need help.
She walked to the tie section, her expression focused, her gaze moving up and down.
Finally, Yvette's hand stopped on a dark-patterned gray tie.
It was suitable for Albert, low-key yet flamboyant.
David found the scene extremely glaring. He almost instinctively averted his gaze and began to regret coming to find her.
He shouldn't have come.
David turned to leave, but the image of Yvette's gentle profile flashed in his mind, and jealousy quickly rose in his heart.
His steps to leave paused, and he turned back to face Yvette.
Albert had lifted Yvette's house arrest.
Although there were several bodyguards following her, both openly and secretly, she could at least leave the house.
Last time, she had promised to pick up BoBo and CiCi but missed the appointment because of his house arrest.
Although the two children didn't say anything, their disappointment was evident when they returned that day.
Just now, Yvette had tried to go out and was pleasantly surprised when no one stopped her.
She almost immediately decided to pick up the children!
It was still early, so Yvette went to the mall to buy gifts to "apologize" to them.
Since it was time to change seasons, Yvette also picked out two sets of clothes for the children.
Passing by a luxury men's store, Yvette's gaze was suddenly drawn to a tie, and she unconsciously walked in.
Yvette looked at the tie in her hand, imagining how Albert would look wearing it, and her tightly pressed lips softened.
"Wrap this up for me, please," Yvette said to the salesperson.
Taking the wrapped tie from the salesperson, Yvette was about to leave.
When she turned around, she met David's deep and unreadable eyes.
Yvette's steps paused, and the smile on her lips instantly disappeared, her brows furrowing slightly.
Remembering their last meeting, Yvette felt even more repulsed by David in front of her.
At such a close distance, Yvette met his gaze but didn't speak first.
It was David who broke the silence between them. "It seems that whoever you're with, you buy ties for them."
David's meaningful words and his eyes with hidden intentions made Yvette extremely uncomfortable.
She frowned but didn't speak.
David smiled, his expression seemingly normal, but Yvette saw a flash of mockery in his eyes. "You once bought me a tie of this color too, remember?"
Yvette's gaze towards David became sharp.
She had indeed bought David a similar tie before, but at that time, Yvette was in a state of amnesia and didn't remember who her husband really was.
On David's birthday, as his "wife," she subconsciously chose a tie that didn't match his gentle temperament.
Yvette tugged at the corner of her lips, a coldness appearing, with a hint of anger. "You're wrong. I bought it for my husband. You were just pretending to be my husband. So..."
