Chapter 423 You Are Not Obedient Today
Yvette's words made Sylvia a bit anxious. "Even if he doesn't believe you, can't you explain it over and over again?"
"You should know Albert's temperament." Yvette lowered her eyes, hiding the flicker in them. "All the evidence shows that the time the child was conceived was after I disappeared following the kidnapping. He believes the evidence and will only believe that the child was conceived after I was with David."
"Fuck!" Sylvia cursed in anger. "I never thought that the gentle and refined David would take you away from Albert in such a way, give you a fake identity, and make the whole world believe that your two children are his."
"Sylvia," Yvette said helplessly. "he changed my identity, probably to prevent Albert from finding me."
Sylvia asked, "So what if he finds you? Can he harm you?"
Yvette's eyes flickered slightly. "At that time, Albert wanted to divorce me and marry Violet."
"What?" Sylvia looked at her in disbelief. "How is that possible?"
Yvette said, "I saw the prepared divorce papers and the plane ticket to send me abroad."
Sylvia was extremely shocked. "What exactly is Albert trying to do?"
"I don't know, so at that time, I was indeed trying to leave the Valdemar Family." Yvette opened her mouth. "And later, during the kidnapping..."
At this point, Yvette suddenly stopped.
She collected herself and didn't continue.
Sylvia was puzzled. "What happened during the kidnapping?"
Yvette replied, "When I was kidnapped, the two children in my belly were ones Albert didn't want."
Sylvia asked, "Didn't want?"
"Yes." Yvette swallowed, feeling despair even as she recalled it. "At that time, he insisted on divorcing me and forbade me from getting pregnant."
Albert had said that if she got pregnant, he would personally take her to get an abortion.
"What? Albert is such a bastard!" Sylvia was furious. "How could he say such a thing?"
"So, it was thanks to David changing my identity that I wasn't found." Yvette said helplessly, "I initially thought he changed the children's birth dates to avoid gossip, but now I think he did it for this moment."
For the day when Yvette regained her memory, everything would be exposed, and he could use the children to threaten her.
Sylvia looked at Yvette with pity. "Yvette, I didn't expect you to live such a life in the Valdemar Family. How did you and Albert end up like this?"
"Why?" Yvette smiled bitterly. "Maybe we were just never meant to be, never on the same wavelength."
Sylvia was silent for a while, then suddenly looked up at Yvette and hugged her. "It's okay, Yvette. Since you said you still love Albert, why not try to start over?"
Yvette's body stiffened, unsure if she heard correctly. "Start over?"
"Yes!" Sylvia nodded firmly. "Since the DNA can't determine whose children they are, find a way to clear this up! You're their mother; you can't let them never know who their biological father is, and you can't let their father never acknowledge them, right?"
The night was deep.
Since it was late, the owner of the manor had the important guests stay overnight.
Albert, appearing in high spirits with his deep eyes showing signs of drunkenness, was supported by Yvette as they returned to their room. After a bath, they lay down on the bed.
Yvette was a bit tired and was about to sleep when Albert's strong arm suddenly wrapped around her waist, forcing her to turn and face him.
The smell of alcohol enveloped Yvette, filled with an undeniable intimacy.
Yvette raised her hand to push him away, wanting some distance between them.
Being so close, she could only smell his scent, making it hard for her to breathe.
But Albert, drunk, was even more stubborn than usual, holding her slender waist and pressing her against him.
Yvette sensed something was wrong and looked up in panic, only to find his deep eyes full of dominance.
Yvette scolded, "Go to sleep!"
Albert leaned in, their lips almost touching. "You were naughty today."
Yvette's cheeks flushed, and she turned her head. Albert's cool lips brushed her cheek, still slightly damp from the bath.
Yvette whispered, "No."
"I told you to stay within my sight." Albert held her chin. "You were hit on by Eden."
Yvette didn't expect him to still be hung up on that. She pursed her lips. "That was an accident."
"I don't like accidents," Albert said he didn't like accidents, but he really didn't like her being hit on.
She was his, the woman he had finally regained, and he wouldn't let go easily.
Yvette wanted to argue, but the strong scent of alcohol on him made her stay silent.
She softened her voice. "Got it."
Albert paused, stroking her smooth hair. "Good."
This compliant Yvette pleased Albert, her resistance to him lessening.
Albert turned over, pressing down on her, and in the dim light, lowered his lips.
"I'm tired!" Yvette turned her head, avoiding his kiss. "Can we wait until we return home?"
Albert was silent for a moment, then lay back on the bed. "I'll continue with this project tomorrow. You can wait for me in the room or walk around the manor with Sylvia. As my wife, many places here will be open to you."
Yvette looked back at him. "I want to go out."
Albert's aura instantly became cold. "Where?"
Yvette thought for a moment and said, "Sylvia said there are a few famous spots in Eldoria she hasn't visited. If you don't need me to accompany you, I'd like to go with her."
Yvette wasn't lying, but Sylvia's words had given her other ideas.
Since they were in Eldoria, she thought, everything was destined.
Maybe she could take this opportunity to find proof of BoBo and CiCi's true birth dates.
Albert initially didn't want Yvette to wander around since Ingrid was also in Eldoria. But thinking of Sylvia's promise to protect Yvette and not wanting to disappoint her, he relented.
Today, she seemed to understand not to leave his sight and was so obedient afterward.
He should trust her.
Albert squinted. "Okay, I'll arrange for someone to protect you."
Yvette's eyes flickered, hidden in the darkness. "Okay."
