Chapter 407 The Person Who Was Hard to Find, Don't Lose Them Again

A dart flew straight towards the dartboard, hitting the bullseye.

Doyle looked at Albert with pride. "We doctors have steady hands."

Albert stood still, throwing his dart. Doyle's dart was hit and fell to the ground, looking particularly forlorn.

Doyle cleared his throat awkwardly. "Forget what I said. I shouldn't have come with you, just to humiliate myself."

Albert rotated his wrist. "You said it yourself, this is one of the few sports I can do."

Doyle said, "That's because the other activities you mentioned were horseback riding, swimming, and diving. Tell me, with your body just recovering from a serious illness, which one can you handle?"

At that moment, Albert's phone rang. Seeing it was his bodyguard, he instinctively furrowed his brows, knowing the bodyguard never called without a special reason.

Did something happen to Yvette or the kids?

Albert's brows furrowed slightly, and his eyes suddenly turned cold.

He answered the call, "Speak."

"Mr. Valdemar, we've discovered something and need to report to you." The bodyguard's voice was low and respectful, as it always was when reporting to him.

Albert turned slightly, his tall figure standing in the twilight.

The bodyguard's hesitant voice came through the phone. "We just followed Mrs. Valdemar to the same mall as last time. We've confirmed that we were deliberately diverted last time. This time, they tried to divert us again, but we discovered it."

Albert stared intently at the distant dartboard, playing with a dart in his hand, not responding immediately.

The bodyguard knew he was thinking, so he waited patiently.

After a while, Albert finally spoke, his voice as cold as ice, "David's people?"

"Yes," The bodyguard replied seriously. "It's the same group of people, so the ten minutes we were diverted last time were likely also them."

Albert asked, "What did you see?"

"Sorry, Mr. Valdemar," the bodyguard explained. "This time we were only diverted for five minutes. When we returned to Mrs. Valdemar, she had already separated from the other party."

Albert's face remained expressionless, but there was a turbulent undercurrent in his eyes. He lowered his gaze, his eyelashes concealing his emotions.

The dart in his hand was gripped tighter, as if it could pierce his palm at any moment.

"Keep watching," Albert finally spoke, his voice slightly hoarse.

The bodyguard didn't hesitate and immediately responded, "Yes, Mr. Valdemar."

Albert stood alone. When he opened his eyes again, the dissatisfaction and suspicion were suppressed. Yvette had met with David again. A hint of coldness flashed in Albert's eyes.

Doyle, who had watched the whole scene, was frightened by the cold aura around him and cautiously asked, "What's wrong?"

Albert's expression returned to normal. "Nothing."

Expressionless, Albert threw his dart. This time, it veered off course and fell straight down. Doyle sensed Albert's dissatisfaction and immediately understood why.

He had met Albert more than three years ago when Albert was tirelessly searching for his wife, to the point of ruining his health.

But strangely, Doyle rarely saw any emotional fluctuations in him.

So the only thing that could affect Albert's emotions was likely something related to Yvette.

Doyle walked over to Albert. "If you can truly accept what happened in the past, then don't get angry over these things. As long as there are no messy issues in the present, don't be too obsessed."

Albert's body stiffened, neither admitting nor denying it.

His silence told Doyle he was right. "David clearly has genuine feelings for her. As long as you don't mistreat her because she was once your wife, everything won't be that difficult."

Albert's face changed slightly. After a while, he looked up. "Not difficult?"

"Of course not." Doyle paused. "But for you, it's not that simple either."

Albert said, "Go on."

"Do you love her?" Doyle looked into Albert's eyes. "If you do, tell her."

Albert's thick eyebrows instantly furrowed.

Doyle knew these were things Albert had to figure out on his own. He patted Albert's shoulder. "Don't lose the person you worked so hard to find again."

As the sky darkened, the living room lights glowed even warmer. Yvette and the kids, BoBo and CiCi, sat on the rug, each engrossed in their own book, yet sharing the same quiet moment.

Albert walked into the living room, watching the warm yellow light shine on Yvette and the children, feeling an inexplicable sense of warmth. That indescribable feeling, accompanied by a deep sense of satisfaction, rose from his heart.

Seemingly disturbed by his footsteps, BoBo and CiCi looked up at Albert simultaneously.

The two children smiled brightly, their innocent faces glowing. That kind of affection didn't need words to express.

Yvette also turned to look at him, their eyes meeting in the air.

The simplicity and purity of this moment moved Albert.

Doyle was right; he couldn't lose the person he had worked so hard to find again.

Albert was about to walk over when his phone suddenly vibrated twice. It was a message from Vincent, with a link attached.

Thinking it was work-related, Albert walked into the unlit study, the phone's glow illuminating his face. His eyes fixed on the screen, he opened a link to today's interview with David, whose handsome face, confident eyes, and gentle smile filled the screen.

The reporter's question made David's smile deepen. His long fingers unconsciously stroked a dark-patterned gray tie on his chest.

A sharp-eyed reporter noticed his small gesture and teased. "I see Mr. Valdemar always touches this tie. Is it very important?"

"Tie?" David seemed surprised by the question. He smiled. "It is quite important. I always feel that touching it gives me some courage and confidence."

The reporter sensed some gossip and asked meaningfully, "Oh? So it's a special gift! Was it given by someone special?"

"No." David's eyes sparkled with satisfaction, but his tone was humble. "But, it is from someone special."

The reporter asked, "Who?"

David answered, "My wife and children picked it out for me..."
