Chapter 334 Did David Give Yvette an Aphrodisiac?

Walking out of Virgil's house, Yvette still felt a bit breathless despite no longer feeling cramped and uncomfortable.

Looking up at the bright sun overhead, Yvette felt no warmth. Her heart and limbs were cold. She had always thought she could start over, but now she realized it was all a lie.

David and Albert were indeed brothers, both willing to sacrifice others' lives to achieve their own goals.

What should she do?

Wandering aimlessly on the street, Yvette heard a child's cry nearby. It snapped her out of her confusion. She couldn't fall; she still had two children. She had to leave the Valdemar family.

In the Valdemar Group President's Office, Albert finished a conference call, took off his headset, and rubbed his temples. With David's situation, Vincent had been busy consulting experts and professors, leaving most of the work for Albert to handle.

Fortunately, the doctor for David was already in place. Once David's leg was healed, he could no longer morally blackmail Yvette. She wouldn't have to live in that damned guilt every day.

At that moment, there was a knock on the office door.

"Come in," Albert said.

The next moment, Vincent walked in and stood in front of Albert's desk, looking serious.

Albert glanced at him, rarely seeing him with this expression, and asked, "What's wrong?"

Vincent reported in a deep voice, "While contacting doctors and looking into Mr. David Valdemar's matters, I came across some other information that I think you need to know."

Albert said, "Go ahead."

Vincent said, "Mrs. Valdemar went to see Virgil."

"Virgil?" Albert frowned in confusion.

"The Virgil who was with Mr. David Valdemar," Vincent explained. "Originally, this Virgil had bought a ticket to return to Stellaria, but for some reason, he appeared in Luken. So I investigated a bit and found out that Mr. David Valdemar had sent people to trouble him."

Albert raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. "How much trouble?"

Vincent said, "It looks like they wanted to eliminate him completely."

Albert pursed his lips in silence, just staring at Vincent, waiting for him to continue.

"He wanted to silence Virgil," Vincent hesitated for a moment before finally speaking. "I sent people to find Virgil, but he was cunning and escaped again."

Albert closed his eyes slightly. "Didn't find out anything? Why did Yvette see him?"

"When we had him under control, he confessed that Mr. David Valdemar had drugged Mrs. Valdemar before, and when she found out, he made Virgil take the blame. Later, to silence him, Mr. David Valdemar..."

Albert's expression immediately turned cold. "What kind of drug?"

Vincent answered, "Aphrodisiac."

Recalling the time he saved Yvette at the Valdemar Family, Albert's back stiffened. He had suspected James, Lisa, or Cheryl of administering the drug, never considering it was David. Anger surged, his hands clenching into fists, but then he suddenly paused.

Why would David give Yvette such a drug? Wasn't Yvette now firmly claiming to be Jessica, David's wife?

If they were a loving couple, why would David need to drug her?

So, has their relationship broken down?

Thinking this, Albert's anger instantly turned into ecstasy.

David must have returned to Stellaria alone because their relationship had suffered a huge rift.

It seemed Yvette's harsh words were just to provoke him, showing she still cared.

Smiling, Albert felt hope burn brighter in his heart. As long as Yvette and David weren't truly in love, he had a chance. Having liked him for so many years, he was confident he could win her back.

Albert immediately stood up and hurriedly instructed Vincent, "We still need to catch Virgil; it seems he knows a lot."

Vincent answered, "Yes."

"By the way, replace the nannies for Yvette's two children with our people, and arrange for a few bodyguards to guard them 24/7," said Albert.

Vincent asked in surprise, "Are you worried about Virgil seeking revenge and harming Mrs. Valdemar and the children?"

"No," Albert didn't explain further and quickly left the office.

Virgil was now hiding and struggling to survive, with several groups of people after him. How would he dare?

Thinking Yvette would try to escape now that she knew, he wouldn't give her the chance.

On the way home, Yvette felt like she was walking on soft cotton, unable to touch the ground.

Opening the door at home, BoBo and CiCi rushed out of the room and clung to Yvette, refusing to let go.

Seeing the unease in her children's eyes, Yvette felt a bit strange.

They had recently gotten used to living in Luken, staying with the two nannies from the Valdemar Family, so why were they suddenly so uncomfortable?

"What's wrong, babies?" Yvette patted their heads.

BoBo and CiCi still looked upset but couldn't say anything.

Only BoBo pouted a bit, feeling aggrieved. "Mommy, the new nanny said Daddy can't take us to Stellaria for now, is that true?"

Yvette felt a pang of anxiety. "New nanny?"

She looked up and saw two somewhat unfamiliar faces standing at the door, watching the three of them.

After a while, Yvette finally recognized these two servants; they were from Albert's house when she woke up after fainting in the hospital!

A bad premonition surged, and Yvette comforted her children while looking at Manuel.

"Where did the two nannies who took care of BoBo and CiCi go?" Yvette asked anxiously, with a hint of dissatisfaction. "Why did you change the children's nannies without my consent?"

Manuel stood aside, hands clasped, stammering, "Sorry, Mrs. Valdemar. Mr. Albert Valdemar ordered the change; we were just following orders."

Frowning with undisguised anger, Yvette put down the children and turned to confront Albert. But as she approached the door, a few bodyguards appeared from nowhere, blocking her way.

Yvette looked at them in astonishment. "Who are you?"

The leading bodyguard nodded. "Mrs. Valdemar, we are the bodyguards responsible for your and the children's safety."

Yvette's heart pounded wildly, and she struggled to control her emotions. "What does this mean? Is Albert trying to imprison me?"

She then realized that she had alerted the enemy and couldn't escape.
