Chapter 637 Taking Wife and Children on a Trip

Albert stopped in his tracks, his brow furrowing as he looked at Violet with undisguised disgust written across his face.

He had intended to walk around her and continue on his way, but she positioned herself directly in his path, blocking his progress.

"Security, remove her," Albert said coldly, his voice laced with impatience.

"Albert, I really have something important to discuss with you—it's about Yvette!" Violet said firmly, her tone brooking no retreat.

Albert's brow furrowed deeper, showing no inclination to engage in conversation. He waved his hand dismissively, signaling for security to escort her away.

The security guards, who had rushed over at Albert's initial command, received their new directive and stepped forward, reaching out to take hold of Violet.

But Violet clutched Albert's sleeve tightly, refusing to let go, while her other hand continued rummaging through her bag for Yvette's medical records.

"Don't you want to know? It's about Yvette's health!" Violet said urgently, barely restraining herself from shouting.

What she needed to tell him was far too serious—with so many people around, if someone with ulterior motives overheard and twisted her words, the situation could spiral out of control.

Violet's behavior only increased Albert's irritation. He frowned and forcefully shook off her grip.

The security guards seized the opportunity to pull her aside. Violet continued struggling to reach Albert, but was ultimately restrained by the guards.

Albert brushed off the sleeve where Violet had grabbed him, not sparing her another glance as he strode directly into the building.

Violet stood frozen in place, still clutching Yvette's medical records in her hand, her face etched with frustration.

Back in his office, Albert found Vincent already waiting for him.

"Mr. Valdemar," Vincent said respectfully, pulling out Albert's chair.

Albert settled into his desk chair, maintaining perfect posture.

Sunlight streamed through the half-open window, casting shadows that accentuated the sharp angles of his serious expression.

His gaze was steady and focused as his fingers flew across the keyboard, as if racing against time itself.

"Is there anything else?" Albert asked in a low voice.

"Yes, Mr. Valdemar."

Learning that Albert was truly planning to go on vacation had thrown even the typically composed Vincent into a panic.

To organize all the work that absolutely required Albert's completion, Vincent had pulled an all-nighter, finally managing to sort everything out.

Albert was scheduled to catch a flight that afternoon. Vincent was desperately trying to use this window—while Albert finished packing—to get him to sign contracts that could only be executed through the internal network.

For other meetings and collaborations, Vincent would find ways to delegate them to capable staff members. If all else failed, they would simply have to be postponed until Albert's return.

Just thinking about his workload during Albert's absence made Vincent's spine tingle with dread.

Vincent asked cautiously, "Mr. Valdemar, will you keep your phone on while you're away?"

"Of course," Albert replied without looking up, his fingers moving with practiced efficiency.

"Good," Vincent exhaled with relief, finally feeling somewhat at ease.

Albert worked in silence until the moment he shut down his computer and finally looked up.

"But if you call me for anything that isn't genuinely important, you'll face the consequences."

Vincent felt like crying—what was the difference between that and keeping his phone off?

At the airport, Albert walked hand in hand with Yvette, each of them holding BoBo and CiCi's hands as they made their way to the departure gate.

The family of four wore radiant smiles of happiness.

Albert was dressed in a crisp casual outfit, his expression relaxed and at ease. Though he wasn't visibly smiling, there was an unmistakable warmth radiating from him.

Yvette wore a comfortable ensemble, and her usually pale cheeks were touched with a healthy flush, her eyes bright with anticipation and excitement.

As they moved through the crowds, BoBo and CiCi were thrilled by this fascinating environment. They gazed curiously at the airport's various facilities and flight information screens, their eyes sparkling with anticipation.

CiCi's eyes widened as she asked, "Mommy, have we been to an airport before?"

"Of course," BoBo said matter-of-factly. "We flew back to Luken, didn't we?"

"I think it was this same airport—I remember now!" CiCi exclaimed excitedly. "This airport is so new and beautiful!"

Hearing their children's chatter, Albert and Yvette exchanged amused glances.

The children were already bubbling with excitement, and they hadn't even reached the beach yet.

Most of their luggage had been shipped directly to their destination, so they were traveling light with just their carry-on essentials.

Once aboard the plane with the two children, BoBo and CiCi found their seats and settled in.

The first-class cabin was spacious and comfortable, with luxurious seats that allowed them to sit comfortably with plenty of legroom.

They stowed their belongings and got settled.

CiCi pointed out the window and said, "BoBo, I want to look at the clouds from here later. I saw it in a picture book once—clouds look really beautiful from an airplane!"

"Okay!" BoBo was just responding when a man's voice came from behind them, "Albert!"

Albert turned around to see Victor approaching in his uniform.

Victor smiled and said, "I heard from the crew that you were taking this flight, but I couldn't believe it was really you!"

Victor then turned to greet Yvette. "Yvette, it's been too long."

Yvette smiled back. "It has been a while."

Sensing the gentle warmth emanating from Albert, Victor raised an eyebrow in surprise. "We're heading to the coast, you know. Don't tell me you—Mr. Workaholic himself—are going on a beach vacation?"

"That's right," Albert replied with his usual understated tone. "I'm taking my wife and children on a trip."

Though Albert's tone was casual, Victor detected a hint of pride in his words.

"Well, well, taking the wife and kids on vacation. The rest of us can only dream," Victor said with mock envy.

He looked down at the two children—faces that were nearly identical to Albert's.

Crouching down to their eye level, Victor extended his hand for a handshake. "Hello, BoBo and CiCi. It's been a while. Do you remember me?"

BoBo looked curiously at Victor in his uniform, his eyes shining with admiration and wonder. "I remember you, Mr. Thomas. CiCi and I met you when we came back with Mommy!"

"Smart boy!" Victor ruffled BoBo's hair. "You're definitely your father's son."

Then Victor turned to CiCi. The little girl, who usually appeared lively and cheerful, was now hunching her shoulders and staring at him with wide eyes.

Victor felt a bit awkward. "What's wrong, sweetheart? Are you afraid of me?"

CiCi blinked, then suddenly blushed. "You're... you're really handsome."
