Chapter 328 Kiss

Albert's eyes darkened even more. "Get in the car."

Yvette shook her head. "No way. Move aside..."

Before she could finish, the car behind Albert started honking like crazy. The noise made Yvette jumpy, but Albert just stood there, making it clear he wasn't budging until she got in.

The driver behind them stuck his head out and started yelling. Yvette sighed, "Move the car."

"Then get in." Albert opened the passenger door and practically shoved Yvette inside.

He slammed the door shut and started the car without another word.

Yvette felt uneasy. Albert didn't even ask for her address; he just drove.

"Where are we going?" she asked, annoyed.

Albert stayed silent, his expression icy.

They pulled up to the police station, and Yvette was confused. "Why are we here?"

Albert dragged her into an empty room. An officer handed him a document, which he tossed onto the table in front of Yvette without even looking at it.

"What's this?" Yvette asked.

"It's the accident report," Albert said, his voice low. "Read it. You'll see who hit who."

Yvette picked up the report and quickly realized it was David's car that lost control and hit Albert, not the other way around. It was just an accident.

She looked up at Albert. "Do you want me to apologize for misunderstanding you?"

"No." Albert's gaze was intense. "I just want you to know this wasn't about any conflict between David and me. It has nothing to do with you. You don't owe him anything."

Yvette frowned. "I'm taking care of him because I love my husband, not out of guilt. I'll stay by his side no matter what."

Her words had hurt him before, but this time, when she said "love," it felt like a knife to his heart.

Albert's eyes grew even darker, his voice colder. "You say you love David?"

"Yes," Yvette said calmly, though her hands were clenched under the table. "I love my husband. Is that so hard to believe?"

Albert's expression turned even grimmer. If Yvette felt guilty, he could help her get over it, even if it meant giving everything to David.

But she said she loved him.

How could he accept that?

Yvette didn't want to argue anymore. She left the report on the table and turned to leave.

Just as her hand touched the doorknob, Albert pulled her back.

She hit the door hard, and Albert's tall frame loomed over her.

Startled, Yvette pushed him away. "Albert, what are you doing? Let go of me!"

Albert placed his hands on the door behind her, trapping her without touching her.His eyes were like a deep, bottomless vortex, pulling her in.

Albert's voice was firm. "I'm not letting go."

Yvette's scalp prickled, and she glared at him. "You're insane. We're at the police station!"

Albert's voice was low and intense. "Say whatever you want, but I don't believe you don't love me anymore. You waited for me when I lost my memory. How could you just stop loving me? I don't buy it."

"I've told you a million times, I don't love you!" Yvette pushed him. "Stay away from me! Don't touch me!"

Feeling her push against his chest, Albert's patience snapped.

He grabbed her hands with one of his and held her chin with the other, kissing her forcefully.

The moment their lips met, Yvette felt his breath invade every inch of her body.

Her body went rigid, and she was stunned until Albert's tongue pried her mouth open, tangling with hers. She finally reacted.

She slapped his chest frantically, but Albert only kissed her harder, refusing to let go. Desperate, she bit him. Blood mingled between their lips, and Yvette couldn't tell if it was from her bite or the force of his kiss.

Albert pulled back in pain, resting his forehead against hers, rubbing it gently, his voice hoarse with desire. "Yvette, what do I have to do for you to forgive me? Just tell me, and I'll do it."

No matter what he tried, Yvette wouldn't forgive him, always keeping her distance. If it weren't for her, his patience would have run out long ago. He meant it—if she came back, he'd do anything.

But Yvette didn't seem to care. She turned her head away coldly, avoiding his touch.

"Albert, there's nothing to forgive. I don't love you. Please, let me go," Yvette's voice was pleading.

She didn't know what love was anymore. The memory of being on the brink of death while pregnant, and him refusing to save her, made her fear love.

Love had almost killed her once. She couldn't go through that again.

All she wanted now was a peaceful life with her two kids, free from the pain of so-called "love."

Despite Yvette's words cutting deep, Albert didn't hesitate. "No way. You can ask me to do anything, but I can't leave you, and I can't let you go."

He gripped her chin, forcing her to look at him. "Yvette, you're mine. You love me."

Yvette stared into his eyes, her body trapped by Albert. His obsession mirrored her past self.

Did he really love her now?

She didn't dare to believe it, nor did she dare to respond.

If he had treated her like this years ago, things might have been different.

But now, it was too late.

With determination, she said slowly, "I don't love you anymore. I don't."

As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.
