Chapter 529 Always Together
Albert's words seemed to perfectly soothe Yvette's restless heart as she leaned against him, her breathing steady and calm. He had the housekeeper bring up some oatmeal porridge and helped her eat half a bowl.
Though Yvette struggled with her appetite, she forced herself to finish the entire bowl for the sake of her health and recovery. She was determined to regain her strength so she could hold her two children again like before. More nourishment was essential for her body to heal faster.
While Yvette remained uncertain about what medications Doyle had administered, she understood her own body well enough to recognize the slow but steady improvement in her condition.
After their meal, Albert gently lifted Yvette into her wheelchair and pushed her downstairs for some fresh air.
Sunlight filtered through the spacious garden of the villa, casting dappled shadows across the pebbled pathway. A few golden rays broke through the treetops, leaving soft gilded traces on their figures.
Albert seemed to be in good spirits as he glanced up at the sunlight, then looked down at Yvette with a gentle smile.
"Finally my turn to push you around," he said softly.
Yvette knew he was referring to the time when he had pretended to be paralyzed, and she had been the one pushing his wheelchair.
She raised an eyebrow playfully. "Finally? Have you been waiting for this day?"
"No, that's not what I meant," Albert replied, suddenly flustered as he realized his poor choice of words. His eyes betrayed a moment of panic as he hurried to explain, "I meant that I finally have the chance to take proper care of you."
Pleased with her successful teasing, Yvette covered her mouth and laughed. Realizing she had been joking, Albert wasn't annoyed but simply smiled and affectionately ruffled her hair.
In the sunlight, Albert's shadow stretched long, covering Yvette's own. Their silhouettes intertwined, each dependent on the other. They both cherished this rare moment of ease and relaxation, something they hadn't experienced together in far too long.
"Mommy, Daddy!" Two bright voices suddenly called from behind them.
Albert and Yvette turned simultaneously to see their two children running toward them, their faces radiant with innocent joy. They gathered around Albert and Yvette, chattering excitedly about the dreams they'd had the night before.
CiCi was particularly thrilled, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she hugged Yvette's legs. "Mommy, I dreamed about you last night! BoBo said he did too when he woke up!"
BoBo nodded in confirmation. "Yes, Mommy, we both dreamed about you!"
"Did you really?" Yvette's almond eyes brightened at the children's presence. She gently stroked their heads, smiling warmly. "What did you dream about?"
"I forgot, but being with Mommy made me very happy!" CiCi's sweet smile returned to her face. "Mommy, BoBo and I want to be with you and Daddy forever!"
BoBo blinked, adding somewhat shyly, "I think CiCi is right!"
Albert stood nearby, momentarily speechless. After a pause, he managed a soft, "Okay."
Yvette smiled, her heart filled with gratitude and happiness, though tinged with a bittersweet emotion she dared not reveal. "Alright, we'll do just as you say."
The family of four sat together in the garden, their laughter and joy echoing through the air as they savored this precious moment. Their happiness was contagious, touching the hearts of the household staff and filling the entire home with warmth and affection.
