Chapter 294 You Are Yvette

His face was right in hers, his strong hand gripping her neck. She tried to fight back, but his cold, overpowering presence was too much.

She raised her hand to push him away, but his strength was unreal.

She turned her head to dodge him, but his slender fingers had already grabbed her chin.

Albert's soft, scented lips locked onto hers, his tongue skillfully exploring. His hand slid from her neck to her waist, pulling her closer as the kiss deepened.

The sound of gasps filled the air, drowning out the intimate noises from their lips and teeth.

Yvette snapped back to reality and bit down hard. Albert winced and pulled back, giving her the chance to shove him away.

Albert stumbled back, propping himself up with one hand, leaning back to look at her.

Yvette's cheeks were flushed, the blush spreading to her ears and creeping up to the tips.

Albert knew that panicked and embarrassed look all too well.

He leisurely raised his hand, rubbing the stinging spot on his lower lip.

Sure enough, it was bleeding.

Albert stayed indifferent, but a hint of amusement flickered in his eyes.

Yeah, no matter how mad Yvette got, she would never hit or bite him. But the Yvette from the countryside years ago wouldn't have held back.

Thinking of those past times, Albert's expression softened a bit. He lifted his eyelids to look at her. "You dare to bite me."

Yvette trembled with anger, panting. "Mr. Valdemar, is this how the Valdemar Group treats its female employees?"

"No," Albert said calmly. "I only treat you this way, Yvette."

A gasp came from nearby.

Who wouldn't know that Albert's missing wife from years ago was named Yvette?

Seeing Yvette's furious expression, Albert slowly straightened up, leaning forward towards her, his gaze deepening.

He knew how much Yvette resisted him now, but he couldn't let her slip away again.

No matter what deal she had with David, he would find a way to bring her back to his side.

She was his.

Albert stood up, reaching out to grab Yvette's arm.

Yvette's scalp tingled, and she quickly dodged. "I'm not Yvette, don't touch me!"

She never imagined Albert would pull this stunt in front of so many colleagues. Everyone knew she was David's wife, yet he was claiming she was his wife right in front of everyone.

Yvette grabbed her bag and stood up in a panic. "Mr. Valdemar, I am Jessica, your brother's wife. Please mind your behavior."

Yvette turned to leave, but before she could exit the room, she felt a tight grip on her wrist.

Albert said in a deep voice, "Did I say you could leave?"

Albert caught up to her, pulling her into his arms and leading her out.

Yvette struggled in resistance. "Albert! Let go!"

Yvette's body stiffened. She looked back at the men for help, but they all wore shocked expressions, too afraid to step forward and stop Albert.

Despair gripped Yvette as Albert's familiar scent enveloped her. Panicked, she struggled, but Albert gave her no chance, dragging her to the car. The car doors locked with a click, and despite her repeated attempts, they refused to open, causing Yvette to lose her composure.

"Albert, what do you want from me?" Yvette's voice was shaky, tears threatening to spill. "I've told you, I'm not your wife! What do I have to do to make you believe me?"

Her hands trembling, Yvette started unbuttoning her shirt to prove herself. "I don't have the scar you mentioned on my chest. I'll show you, isn't that enough?"

She didn't care about anything anymore. Even though it felt wrong to expose herself to Albert, she just wanted to clear things up and get away from him.

But Albert didn't even glance her way, staring straight ahead. "There's no need to look. Whether you have that scar or not, you are Yvette."

Yvette was on the verge of breaking down. "Where are you taking me?"

"Your old home."

Albert unlocked the door and led Yvette into the Orlando house. As the lights flicked on, she squinted, her eyes adjusting after the long, dark hallway.

She didn't believe she was the "Yvette" Albert spoke of, yet she still followed him.

Her extreme resistance had somewhat eased the moment Albert said he was taking her "home."

Yvette knew she had some hope of regaining her memory and remembering her family. If coming to this home could help her recall something, it would be worth it.

But looking at the unfamiliar decor of the house, Yvette felt a bit disappointed. She still couldn't remember anything.

Looking around, she froze at the sight of a large photo on the living room wall—a family of five.

Yvette's feet moved involuntarily towards the photo, staring at the face identical to hers.

She instinctively raised her hand, lightly tracing the contours with her fingertips.

But the moment she touched the cold glass, Yvette withdrew her hand, pretending nothing had happened and lowering her gaze.

Albert led Yvette to her room. "Your home is right here! This is your room."

Yvette looked up at Albert and slowly spoke, "Albert, stop being stubborn. I've told you, I'm Jessica."

"It's not me being stubborn; it's you not admitting it," Albert said firmly. "But whether you admit it or not, you are my wife, Yvette."

Yvette shook her head weakly. Albert stepped forward, trying to get closer to her, but she reacted strongly, stepping back half a step.

She didn't want any more physical contact with Albert. She had to admit that every time he got close, she had to rely on her rationality to push him away, to avoid falling for him.

Albert's gaze darkened, a stormy emotion brewing in his eyes.

His jaw tightened, and he stared unblinkingly at Yvette.

He pointed. "In this house live your family. Your mother, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew."

Yvette pressed her lips together, her breathing tinged with pain.

Albert continued, "If you don't believe it, wait. In thirteen days, they'll be back. You can do a DNA test, and the truth will be revealed. Genes don't lie."

Yvette opened her mouth to argue, but it felt like a hand was choking her throat, preventing her from uttering a single word.

Albert smirked slowly. "Yvette, you can try to run. No matter where you go, I'll bring you back."
