Chapter 587 They Are Albert's Biological Children

"Mommy, are we really Daddy's children?" BoBo and CiCi stared wide-eyed, tears threatening to spill, their faces a mixture of shock and confusion.

Yvette gazed at her children, her heart a storm of emotions. She took a deep breath, feeling the waves of feeling crash within her. More than anything, she wanted to gather them into her arms.

She had tried so hard to protect this secret, hoping the children could grow up in a stable environment. Adult complications shouldn't burden children's lives. But Yvette had clearly underestimated the devastating power of gossip and how far it could reach.

Now, faced with this harsh reality, she had no choice but to tell them the truth about their origins.

Gently stroking their heads in comfort, she bit her lip and cautiously asked, "Would you like to be Albert's biological children?"

BoBo and CiCi's expressions turned suddenly serious. They exchanged a glance before turning their attention back to Yvette.

"Mommy, just tell us—is it true?" CiCi's voice rose with urgency. "BoBo and I always thought we were Mr. David Valdemar's real children!"

Yvette's heart skipped a beat as she observed the shock written across their innocent faces. Her throat tightened as she spoke softly, "You are Albert's biological children."

Tears immediately spilled down BoBo and CiCi's cheeks. "Really?" they asked in unison.

Watching their emotional reaction, Yvette realized that despite their young age, her children understood more than she'd given them credit for. She should have found an appropriate way to discuss this with them earlier, rather than being forced to reveal it now, after they'd been bullied by classmates.

Her reluctance had only caused them more pain.

Filled with guilt, she carefully explained, "Yes! When you were born, I was in Eldoria while Albert was in Luken, and we couldn't be together. He asked David to look after you on his behalf."

BoBo nodded with partial understanding. "Mommy, did Daddy not want us in Luken because he didn't like us back then?"

"No, that's not it at all," Yvette shook her head. "When you were still in my tummy, I was injured and lost my memory. I forgot the way back to Luken. Now that I remember, we can live with your father. Would you like that?"

BoBo and CiCi exchanged another glance, each recognizing the same thought in the other's eyes. They nodded emphatically, with a solemnity that seemed like a promise to Yvette. "Yes, we would!"

CiCi's eyes reddened as she asked in a trembling voice, "Mommy, can we stay together with Daddy from now on?"

Yvette felt a lump in her throat, her heart swelling with relief. She had been so cautious, afraid to tell the children, worried that adult complications would affect their psychological well-being. Yet they had accepted the truth so readily, even seeming to cherish it all the more.

"Yes, we'll stay together," she promised.

Hearing her words, BoBo and CiCi threw themselves into her arms, hugging her tightly. Their fierce embrace spoke volumes about their love for her.

Back home, Yvette couldn't stop thinking about the incident at preschool. Though the children's spirits had lifted, they had still been hurt. As their mother, their pain was her pain.

She picked up her phone and checked the time. It was still early; Albert would be mid-flight with his phone turned off. She wouldn't be able to reach him.

Lost in thought, she was interrupted when BoBo and CiCi came running over. "Mommy!"

Yvette set her phone down, doing her best to hide her unease.

CiCi tugged at her sleeve, looking up with barely contained excitement. "Mommy, when is Daddy coming home? Why wasn't he here to pick us up today?"

"CiCi, don't you remember?" BoBo explained. "He's on a business trip. He won't be back for a few days."

CiCi immediately pouted, clearly disappointed. "That long?"

Yvette raised an eyebrow. "You're missing him already?"

"Yes!" CiCi nodded emphatically. "Of course we miss him! He's our daddy!"

Seeing the unmistakable pride shining in CiCi's eyes, Yvette felt touched. Clearly, Albert had done well in the time they'd spent together, earning the children's trust and affection.

As they settled on the sofa, Yvette was about to ask for more details about the preschool incident when BoBo looked directly into her eyes.

"Mommy, why didn't you tell us before that he is our real father?" His voice carried confusion and a hint of caution.

CiCi interjected, "Didn't Mommy say she forgot everything?"

"After I remembered, I was trying to figure out how to tell you," Yvette took a deep breath, deciding to speak to them as maturely as possible. "If I had told you before you fully liked and accepted him, wouldn't that have been upsetting? Could you have accepted that a stranger—the stern Albert—was actually your biological father?"

BoBo and CiCi still looked slightly puzzled. "So you were waiting until we really liked him to tell us?"

"Wasn't it better for you to get to know him on your own terms? To understand him, come to like him, and be willing to accept him naturally?" Yvette asked gently.

Though not fully comprehending, the children's eyes sparkled with understanding—a reflection of their unwavering trust in Yvette.

CiCi hugged her tightly. "Mommy, we love you, and we love Daddy too!"

BoBo furrowed his brow, still bothered by the day's events. "So Eric was wrong, and he needs to apologize to us!"

Yvette pressed her lips together. "BoBo, I'll try, but I can't guarantee Eric will apologize. Will you be angry if he doesn't?"

"Of course!" BoBo raised his fist. "But Mommy, I know what to do. I won't play with Eric anymore. Dad always says, 'Never argue with fools!'"

Yvette looked surprised. "When did he say that?"

"When we were reading stories together," BoBo replied with admiration. "I think he's right."

Yvette smiled warmly, touching their cheeks affectionately.

Seeing the children's moods had improved, she watched as they went hand in hand to read books. After a moment's thought, she picked up her phone and stood.

Albert had told her that if anything happened, she could turn to Cheryl.

Yvette dialed the number. "Grandma," she said when the line connected.
