Chapter 336 Yvette and David Have Been Sleeping in Separate Rooms

The moment Virgil saw Albert, he trembled violently, his face and lips turning pale. If Vincent hadn't supported him, he would have collapsed in fear.

It wasn't until Albert raised an eyebrow and looked down at him, saying indifferently, "Virgil?" that Virgil realized the man in front of him was not David, but Albert.

The sudden relief made Virgil's body sway, unable to support himself.

Albert took in his reaction, his sharp profile exuding indifference, and a faint sneer played at the corners of his lips.

It seemed David really wanted to eliminate him completely; otherwise, he wouldn't be so scared.

Albert moved his index finger slightly, and Vincent immediately nodded, took out an envelope, and handed it to Virgil.

Virgil panted heavily, looking defensive. "What's this?"

"Open it and see," Vincent said.

Virgil opened the envelope suspiciously, and Albert's low voice came to his ears."This is a ticket to Vesperia and your new identity. A house, a car, money, everything has been arranged for you, enough for you to live a prosperous life," Albert said with a slight smile. "Most importantly, David will never be able to threaten you again."

A glimmer of hope appeared in Virgil's desolate eyes, and he swallowed hard. "Really?"

"Of course." Albert lifted his chin slightly. "You should know what I want."

Weighing the pros and cons, Virgil's face shifted with complex emotions. He realized he was doomed either way. After being loyal to David for so long and working tirelessly, only to be hunted down in the end, he decided he might as well tell Albert everything.

If Albert could really do what he said, then going to Vesperia would be a new beginning!

Even if Albert ended up betraying him like David, his revenge could still make the two brothers turn against each other.

A bloodthirsty light flashed in Virgil's eyes. "What do you want to know? I'll tell you everything I know."

Albert's lips curled into a contemptuous smile, his cold eyes like knives. "I want to know about their life in Eldoria."

"David took Ms. Orlando to Eldoria. No, at that time, she was Jessica Valdemar, David's wife. The first time I saw her, she was in a state of amnesia," Virgil began, trying to distance himself from the situation, fearing Albert's pursuit.

Albert repeated, "Amnesia?"

So it was true!

No wonder he couldn't find her; David had deliberately hidden her while she was amnesiac! Albert's heart ached as if gripped by a hand when he thought of their separation.

He asked, "And then?"

"Ms. Orlando saw many doctors for her amnesia, but there was no progress. It was clear David loved her, and their relationship was good," Virgil said, looking puzzled. "But they never shared a room."

Albert's deep eyes seemed to contain a raging storm. He pressed his thin lips together and asked in a deep voice, "Are you sure, not even once?"

"I'm very sure," Virgil explained. "Because David came to me, saying that after Ms. Orlando's amnesia, she was very unfamiliar with him and unwilling to share a room, so he asked me to get some strong aphrodisiacs."

Virgil thought for a moment and continued, "But it seems they were never used. If they were used after returning to the country, then they weren't used before... Later, Ms. Orlando got pregnant. I guess she might not have resisted David anymore. As her belly grew, it was normal to have separate rooms for the child's sake."

Albert's face was half in the sunlight and half in the shadow, making it hard to read his expression, but his voice was inexplicably hoarse. "In Eldoria, always?"

Virgil answered, "Yes."

Falling into deep thought, Albert straightened his back. If Yvette was already pregnant with his child before she disappeared and had never slept with David, then the children's parentage was in serious doubt.

Albert questioned, "When exactly were Yvette's two children born?"

Virgil thought carefully and then answered, "Ms. Orlando's prenatal check-ups were all personally accompanied by David. The due date was in January, but I didn't see the children born. I was sent on a business trip in December. When I returned in January, the children were already born. I saw the birth certificate; it was in January."

The last bit of hope was shattered. From the timeline, they couldn't be his children. Maybe Yvette stopped resisting David later, and the aphrodisiacs he prepared were never used.

Albert closed his eyes, hiding his disappointment.

"You said Yvette had amnesia. When did she regain her memory?" Albert asked.

"I'm not sure about the exact time, but one thing I'm certain of," Virgil said confidently. "Ms. Orlando didn't regain her memory before returning to Luken. David was always reluctant to come back."

Albert's face showed a slight surprise. "So, she was still amnesiac when she first returned to Luken?"

Virgil answered, "Yes."

Recalling the unfamiliar look in Yvette's eyes when they first reunited, Albert had initially thought she was pretending out of hatred. But it turned out to be amnesia. Thinking of Yvette suffering the same pain as before, Albert felt a sting in his heart. He had wronged her.

Albert's Adam's apple moved slightly, filled with self-reproach.

Fortunately, he had desperately kept her by his side. No matter when she remembered him, he would take responsibility.

All of this started because of him, and he had to compensate her a hundredfold, a thousandfold.

Albert nodded, his eyes regaining their coldness. "If you remember anything else, contact me. You will receive a sum of money for every useful piece of information."

Virgil was already immersed in the joy of revenge and rebirth. "Thank you, Mr. Valdemar!"

Albert gestured to Vincent and turned to leave.

From what Virgil said, aside from initially getting pregnant, Yvette had never shared a room with David. No wonder that night felt so inexperienced and tight, like the first time. It had been so long, yet her body was still familiar with him, just like before.

Thinking of this, the jealousy that had grown in Albert's heart finally subsided a bit.

The emotions in Albert's eyes gradually calmed down, and he began to focus on thinking.

Now that Yvette was staying in Luken, he had to resolve her identity issue as soon as possible. He wanted her to return to him openly and honorably. "Are Yvette's family arrangements in place?"

Vincent replied, "As per your instructions, they won't be leaving Luken anytime soon."

Albert adjusted his cuff. "It's time to bring my Yvette back."
