Chapter 303 Please Take a Good Look, This Is My Wife

Yvette was fuming; she never thought Albert would think like that.

He was oblivious to the terror of her escape from danger, the challenges of giving birth and raising two kids while grappling with memory loss. Not only was he ignorant, but he also weaponized those words to inflict pain.

Thinking about the kids, Yvette shut her eyes in despair; she didn't want to deal with him anymore.

Yvette felt like she had fallen into an ice cave. She moved her stiff, cold limbs and let out a bitter laugh.

She lifted her eyelids and spoke coldly, "Yeah, I married David, slept with him, had two kids. So, Albert, just leave me alone. I'm not Yvette; I'm Jessica, David's wife."

Even though Albert had said those words first, hearing Yvette confirm them still felt like a punch to the gut.

He tried not to think about Yvette's life with David over the past three years. He told himself that as long as Yvette came back, nothing else mattered.

Seeing her with David, he couldn't help but remember their moments together. Her shy, sweet demeanor wasn't his alone anymore; David had shared it too.

Thinking of this, he clenched his fists, and his possessiveness made him want to kill David right then and there.

Suppressing his emotions, Albert said, "You better not be saying this to provoke me, or I can't promise I won't make David and those two brats disappear in a fit of rage."

"You dare!" Yvette knew Albert well: if he threatened the kids, he meant it. Yvette said fiercely, "David, the kids, and I are a family. If anything happens to them, I'll kill you myself." She could stab his heart without hesitation with a sharp blade.

"You'd kill me for David?" Albert said through gritted teeth. "Yvette, you've gone too far."

Yvette's eyes were cold as she mercilessly pushed Albert away.

She got out of bed, straightened her clothes, and her eyes and brows were filled with coldness.

"I hope you stay away from me in the future."

After saying this, Yvette didn't give Albert another glance and left the room.

Albert watched Yvette's resolute and indifferent back, clenching his fists tightly.

He thought, 'Live a peaceful life with David? Yvette, don't even think about it.'

Unable to find Yvette, David felt a sense of foreboding.

Clutching his fists, with veins slightly bulging on his forehead, he refrained from overtly displaying his unease. Just as he was exiting the banquet hall, he collided with Yvette, who hurried in. In passing, David reached out and seized her wrist.

A flash of panic crossed Yvette's face, but she swallowed nervously when she saw it was David. "David."

David stared at Yvette. Her clothes were not disheveled, but her hair was slightly messy. Anxiety gripped him as their eyes met, her red-rimmed gaze intensifying his tension.

Before Yvette could answer, a figure followed her into the banquet hall. David looked up to see Albert adjusting his collar, red nail marks on his neck. Instantly, David's gentle face darkened, his eyes turned icy, and his demeanor became cold.

David clenched his fists, seething with anger, yet he attempted to maintain a calm tone as he questioned Yvette with genuine concern, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"

Yvette shook her head, trying to stay calm but avoiding his gaze. "Nothing, where are the kids?"

David suppressed his emotions, trying not to let Yvette see his rage, and answered calmly, "Inside."

"Then let's go in," Yvette said.

Entering the banquet hall, Yvette followed David to the table where Lester and Christina sat, waving excitedly from a distance. "Mommy!"

Yvette smiled at the two kids and was about to go over when her arm was suddenly grabbed.

Instinctively, Yvette turned around to see Albert's large hand gripping her arm tightly.

Albert's voice was low. "You sit here."

Yvette frowned. "Why?"

Albert's tone was firm. "My wife should sit next to me."

Yvette stared at him in shock as gasps behind her revealed the unfolding drama.

She took a step back, suppressing her emotions, and tried to speak calmly, "Mr. Valdemar, I've told you every time we meet, you've got the wrong person. I'm not your wife."

Albert lifted his eyelids and gave David a cold glance, letting out a cold laugh. "David is the one who's mistaken."

"Albert," David's voice seethed with barely contained anger as he positioned himself in front of Yvette, obstructing Albert's view. "Take a good look, she's my wife!"

Albert's provocation was too obvious, and David had to use all his strength to suppress his anger.

The two stood face to face, their eyes cold, neither willing to back down.

At this tense moment, Lester got down from his chair, walked over to them, and tugged at Albert's clothes. "Uncle Albert, she's my and CiCi's mommy, my daddy's wife."

Albert's pupils contracted slightly as he looked down at the serious little face that bore some resemblance to him, feeling a lump in his throat, unable to speak for a moment.

David let out a cold laugh, put his arm around Yvette's shoulders, and looked at Albert coldly. "As the head of the Valdemar Group, you're not even as sensible as a two or three-year-old child."

David exuded the confidence of a victor. He tilted his head, lips nearing Yvette's forehead. She instinctively wanted to pull away, but with so many eyes on them, every move was scrutinized.

She was now David's wife, Jessica.

Yvette smiled, pretending to go along, but subtly tilted her head, so David's lips barely brushed her forehead, not quite landing a kiss.

From Albert's angle, they looked very intimate, like a real couple.

Albert clenched his fists, his pupils darkening.

He pressed his thin lips together, restraining the emotions and violent possessiveness surging within him.

He was aware of Yvette's animosity towards him, acknowledging his past misdeeds. He yearned for her return, eager to make amends, but not through this vengeful approach.
