Chapter 290 Albert! I Am Your Brother's Wife!

Hearing the name again, Yvette had calmed down a lot, but she still froze for a moment.

So, Yvette was Albert's wife, and David liked her as well?

Since that hug in the VIP lounge at the airport last time, Yvette had a rough idea, but hearing the truth from Albert still surprised her.

Yvette suppressed her shock and looked up, meeting Albert's slightly inquisitive gaze.

Yvette politely smiled at Albert but didn't say much.

Albert's eyes narrowed slightly, and he asked coldly, "Jessica, are you here as the project manager or as the wife of the president of the Las Veges branch?"

Yvette was taken aback, not expecting Albert to speak so bluntly in front of Dominic. She chuckled lightly. "Of course, I'm here as the project manager. Let's keep it professional."

Yvette's outward enthusiasm but actual distance subtly widened the gap between them.

She handed the materials and documents to the two of them, intending to start discussing the project directly, "It was indeed our fault before, so we've come up with a new plan. You two can take a look."

"Wait." Albert lifted his eyelids. "Let's have a meal together first. It's easier to talk business when we're more familiar with each other."

Dominic looked at the two in surprise, finally understanding their relationship.

So Jessica was actually the wife of David, the president of the Las Veges branch? And he had just dared to ignore her, so outrageous.

Dominic, full of embarrassment, raised his glass and said politely, "Mr. Valdemar is right. I didn't realize we were all family. Let me toast to you!"

Albert stared fixedly at Yvette, and even though Yvette had mentally prepared herself, she still felt uncomfortable under his intense gaze.

She raised her glass to toast but smiled apologetically. "Dominic, my two kids are downstairs with the driver. I need to take care of them tonight, so I can't drink with you. This meal is on me. I hope you both enjoy it."

Yvette put down her glass and stood up. "You two sit for a while. I'll go check why the food hasn't arrived yet."

She wanted to leave to escape Albert's gaze, which made her feel a chill down her spine.

As she stepped out of the private room, a tall figure blocked her path. Yvette looked up to see Albert, imposing in his dark suit, which accentuated his slender build.

Yvette's lips stiffened, and she took a half-step back defensively, fearing he might do something dangerous like last time.

Albert stood still in front of her, his hands at his sides, his eyes still holding that hidden turbulence.

Yvette tried to sidestep him, but Albert also moved, blocking her path again.

As the project manager, Yvette didn't dare to offend him, so she looked up and smiled. "Mr. Valdemar, I'll just go and hurry them up."

"Jessica." Albert's deep eyes flashed with a hint of restraint. "What was your name before you went to Las Veges?"

Yvette sighed, feeling a bit helpless. "I get what you're saying, but I'm sorry, I'm really not your wife."

Albert frowned, his eyes locked on her face, trying to read every expression. "What do you know?"

"Ever since David rescued me and I moved up from the bottom, I've just been Jessica. I've only been David's wife and the mother of BoBo and CiCi," Yvette said seriously. "I hope you find your wife soon."

With that, Yvette didn't want to say more. Their relationship shouldn't be discussed further.

As Yvette finished speaking, Albert grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the adjacent unoccupied private room, dimly lit by a faint glow from the wide-open window. Alone with Albert in the dark room, she hesitated to scream, worried about Dominic or the staff hearing, the situation feeling absurd.

Yvette's back hit the wall heavily, and in the dim light, she heard Albert's low, hoarse voice. "I'm looking."

Yvette's body stiffened as Albert's strong arms encircled her.

With the cold, hard wall behind her and Albert's warm body in front, Yvette felt extremely tense.

She raised her arm to create distance, but his firm chest and racing heart only flustered her more.

Forced to look up, in the dim room, through the light coming in from the window, she looked at Albert in front of her.

They were so close that Yvette could feel the heat from his body through the fabric of their clothes.

Their breaths mingled, and Yvette, both nervous and angry, tried to push Albert away with her arm, but he didn't budge, keeping her firmly trapped.

Yvette's body trembled slightly, and she lowered her voice in anger, "Albert, let go!"

Albert smirked at Yvette's unmistakable blend of anger and embarrassment!

Albert glanced at her arms pressed against his chest, then grabbed her wrists with one hand, pinning them above her head.

Yvette had a noticeable scar on her chest from when she accidentally fell into a pit while they were playing in the countryside.

At that time, Yvette thought her heart had been pierced because of the bleeding and cried her heart out.

As long as he confirmed that the scar on Yvette's chest was still there, he would tell her that he remembered everything.

Albert didn't care how inappropriate his actions were; his only thought was to confirm if Jessica was indeed Yvette!

Jessica was wearing a high-collared shirt, and he raised his hand to unbutton it.

As he neared the truth, his hands trembled. A cool breeze hit her neck as the top button came undone, and Yvette shivered, her mind screaming that Albert was crazy!

Yvette gritted her teeth, and since her hands were pinned, she suddenly lifted her leg.

Albert instinctively dodged, loosening his grip, and Yvette's hands were instantly freed.

Albert tried to grab her again, but Yvette reacted faster, raising her hand and slapping him hard.

Breathing heavily, Yvette buttoned up her shirt and glared at him. "Albert! I am your brother's wife!"
