Chapter 424 The Time of the Child's Birth

At the entrance of the banquet hall, Sylvia walked alongside her superior.

Sylvia looked up at the luxurious building in front of her, then turned to ask her superior, "Mr. Anderson, how long is this gathering going to last today?"

This superior was the deputy director of Sylvia's hospital and also her former mentor, who had practically watched Sylvia grow up.

Atlas Anderson glanced at Sylvia. "What? Planning to cause a scene at the banquet again?"

Sylvia smiled awkwardly. "Oh, come on, how could I..."

Atlas snorted, "Don't think I didn't see you yelling and fighting with someone at the entrance of the manor yesterday. That was someone from the Valdemar Family. I always knew you were bold, but I didn't expect you to be so reckless."

"Mr. Anderson," Sylvia said guiltily. "She was bullying my friend. I was just expressing my dissatisfaction, not looking for a fight."

Atlas pretended to be stern. "You better behave yourself. We are here to represent our hospital and secure this project. If you mess things up, watch out!"

"Alright, alright, I know. I'll try not to cause you any trouble!" Sylvia pouted. "I just had plans with a friend today, and this banquet came up last minute. I need to let her know."

Atlas checked his watch. "It'll probably be after dinner."

Sylvia said, "Got it, thanks, Mr. Anderson!"

Before going in, Sylvia stepped out to call Yvette, "Yvette, I have a banquet here, and it probably won't end until the afternoon. Just wait for me in the room, and I'll come find you when it's over."

Yvette seemed to be somewhere noisy. "Okay."

Sylvia asked, "Are you outside?"

"Yeah." Yvette's breath was a bit unsteady. "I have to go in now. Anyway, we're all in the manor, so we'll meet after it's over."

Sylvia said, "Alright."

After hanging up, Sylvia followed Atlas into the banquet hall.

As they walked, Atlas reminded her, "Although it's called a banquet, it's actually a gathering of international doctors to discuss the project's development direction and technical support. Stay focused and do your job well."

She replied, "Yes, Mr. Anderson."

When Sylvia walked in, a group of doctors had already gathered, chatting about today's banquet.

"I didn't expect so many doctors from different countries to gather here, and they're all experts. This gathering is worth attending!"

"The Valdemar Group is really generous, turning a small gathering into such a grand banquet!"

"Yeah, it's great to be here, and the attendance fee the Valdemar Group offered is high too."

"Why isn't Mr. Valdemar here?"

"This is a gathering of doctors to discuss research and technology. The business tycoons are at another venue discussing their business plans."

Sylvia pouted. She thought everyone was here to discuss research and technology, but it turned out they were all gossiping.

Bored, she went to the side, grabbed a glass of juice, and listened to the conversation while sipping through a straw.

At that moment, a doctor with a glass of wine sat down next to the group of doctors.

This foreign male doctor was clearly a bit drunk, surrounded by the essence of alcohol, and his speech was slurred. "Speaking of generosity, I think Albert is not as generous as his brother."

"His brother?" The other doctors asked curiously, "Do you mean David from the branch company?"

"Yes." The male doctor finished his drink, looking even more intoxicated. "Let me tell you, I was the one who took care of Mr. David Valdemar's wife during her pregnancy and childbirth. He paid me a huge fee for taking care of her! Now that's real generosity!"

David's wife... Sylvia's body tensed as she listened.

Wasn't this male doctor talking about Yvette?

The other doctors asked, "Really? Don't be bragging! How much was it?"

The male doctor laughed. "The house I bought in the Eldoria wealthy district was paid for with that fee."

The foreign male doctor's words shocked everyone, and they looked at him with envy.

"Really?"

"Mr. Valdemar is so good to his wife!"

"Yes! He is really good to his wife!" The male doctor recalled. "Actually, his wife was always in good condition, so I took a day off to go on vacation with my wife and kids. But just then, he said his wife was emotionally agitated and went into labor early. I had to leave my family..."

Other doctor asked, "How could you go on vacation with your family when his wife was about to give birth?"

"It was still early before the due date!" The male doctor shook his head, looking a bit scared. "And it was almost the holidays. When I'm busy, I don't have time to take them out. Who knew something big almost happened? If I hadn't rushed back in time, you wouldn't be seeing me now!"

"Yeah, Mr. Valdemar cares so much about his wife and kids. If something had happened, his generosity would have been buying a villa for a hitman in the wealthy district..."

As everyone chatted casually, Sylvia tightly gripped her glass, not daring to relax for a second, afraid of missing any crucial information.

When she heard the word "holiday," Sylvia felt a sense of realization.

Since Yvette said the child was Albert's and David had changed the child's birth date, the real date must be different from the recorded one!

As long as she figured out what holiday it was and found evidence related to the child's birth and that holiday, everything could be resolved!

Thinking of this, Sylvia was both excited and nervous. She had initially wanted to leave but stayed until everyone finished chatting.

When the doctors broke into smaller groups, Sylvia cautiously approached the male doctor.

Sylvia smiled and handed him a drink. "Hi, care for a drink?"

Sylvia's sweet appearance and proactive approach made the male doctor's eyes light up. He accepted the drink. "Hello, pretty girl."

Sylvia asked, "Because you mentioned taking your wife and kids on vacation during the holiday, I was curious, what holiday was it?"

"Holiday?" The male doctor thought for a moment. "Christmas."

Sylvia's throat tightened. "Christmas?"

Christmas, a holiday in late December, meant the child was born in early or mid-December!

"Yes, Christmas." The male doctor smiled, downing the drink Sylvia handed him, his eyes gleaming with temptation. "Pretty girl, if you like, I can take you there for vacation this Christmas..."
