Chapter 440 Trying to Trick Him, David Is Still a Bit Naive

At this moment, Albert was like a raging bull, ready to charge at David any second.

But David didn't flinch. He kept his usual smirk, though his eyes were cold as ice.

He stared at Albert, waiting for him to make a move.

Albert's anger boiled over. He stood up and stormed over to David, grabbing him by the collar.

He glared down at David, his eyes blazing with fury.

David's collar crumpled under Albert's tight grip.

"What? You wanna fight?" David looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. "You really wanna throw away everything we've been through?"

"Everything we've been through?" Albert sneered. "When did we ever have that?"

"Is that so?" David smiled. "Then why don't you hit me?"

Albert's voice was icy. "You trying to provoke me?"

David replied, "Of course not. I'm just doing what needs to be done. I ruined her dress, so I gotta make it right. Don't you agree?"

"Fine." Albert suddenly calmed down, taking the bag in his hand. "I'll take it."

A flicker of surprise crossed David's eyes, which Albert caught instantly.

At that moment, Albert understood why David had come.

He gave David a cold glance, then turned and left the room with the bag.

As he passed a trash can, Albert didn't even look at it before tossing the bag inside.

David was too naive if he thought he could fool him.

In the spacious, luxurious car, Albert sat in the back seat, his gaze heavy as he looked out the window, his reflection showing a deep, brooding face.

In the front passenger seat was Vincent, who had just arrived from the States.

Vincent sat there, lips tightly pressed together, trying not to disturb the oppressive atmosphere.

Albert's fingers unconsciously gripped the edge of the seat, tapping rhythmically, creating a faint sound.

The veins on the back of his hand stood out, pulsing with his movements, exuding an indescribable pressure.

The car's atmosphere was stifling, the air heavy and hard to breathe.

Outside, the scenery blurred past the window, forming streaks of light and shadow.

Vincent stole a glance at Albert in the rearview mirror, finally unable to hold back.

"Mr. Valdemar, the contract is almost finalized. Do you want to wait for the final details here or take Mrs. Valdemar back home first?"

Vincent spoke cautiously, unsure of Albert's intentions.

Recently, while handling matters back home, he'd heard rumors from Eldoria that Albert's wife was in some scandal.

At first, Vincent didn't pay much attention. After all, Albert had asked him to help pick out clothes, even taking his advice to buy everything except the silk gown and store them in their home wardrobe.

But then Yvette called, asking him to relay a message. When he came to Eldoria to handle the contract, Albert's face had been dark the entire time.

The way things were unfolding left Vincent unsure, afraid to make any assumptions or change the schedule.

Sure enough, Albert's gaze remained outside, but his tapping fingers suddenly stopped.

"No rush," Albert said coldly. "There's still unfinished business."

Vincent didn't dare say more. "Understood, Mr. Valdemar."

The car slowly pulled into the Valdemar Group's Eldoria branch parking lot.

Albert led Vincent upstairs, where the branch's vice presidents and legal team were already waiting.

As Albert arrived, everyone greeted him. "Welcome! Mr. Valdemar!"

Albert's face was expressionless, nodding slightly, but his eyes caught a familiar figure.

His gaze landed on Niki, who immediately felt a chill down her spine. She bowed respectfully. "Hello. Mr. Valdemar."

"We've met," Albert said in a deep voice.

"Yes," Niki replied under pressure. "At last week's banquet, I represented the Eldoria branch and had the honor of meeting you."

Albert grunted in acknowledgment, withdrawing his gaze, but Niki was still terrified.

At the banquet, she had foolishly remarked that Yvette looked familiar, earning a cold stare from Albert.

Vincent stepped forward. "Today, we coordinated with other groups and international medical representatives. There are some contract amendments to address. Is the legal team ready?"

"Yes. This way, please." Niki gestured, leading Albert and Vincent to the conference room.

Albert took a few steps and checked his watch. "You go ahead. I need to make a call."

"Of course."

Albert turned, pulling out his phone to call the bodyguard watching over Yvette at the estate.

As he passed an open office door, he heard two women arguing inside.

"Shut your mouth, Aimee! Stop spreading rumors. I've worked with Jessica for years. I know her well. She isn't the kind of person you're saying she is, okay?"

Aimee scoffed. "Just a coworker. How do you really know what she's like?"

"So what? It's none of your business. Even if Mr. Albert Valdemar's wife looks like Jessica, they can't be the same person!"

Aimee retorted, "In this world, only twins like the Valdemar brothers can look identical. Why can't it be possible?"

"Have you seen her? You know how close she and Mr. David Valdemar are! They have a happy family with two lovely kids. Why would she leave that for Mr. Albert Valdemar?"

Aimee replied, "I've heard Jessica had some ambiguous marks on her before. She shyly said they weren't, but everyone knew they were signs of a good relationship with her husband, right?"

"But..."

"Alright, dear, no need to argue. I just find it surprising that she could be with both Mr. David Valdemar and Mr. Albert Valdemar. That's all..."

Albert stood at the door, his face darkening.
