Chapter 344 Albert, please protect us

Snapping out of her sorrow, Yvette knew she couldn't afford any distractions. She had to stop the person in front of her from taking the children away. If she didn't, she might never see them again.

Yvette reached out to block them, but the leading woman tilted her head slightly, and her subordinates immediately received the signal and quickly stepped forward to block Yvette.

Desperately trying to stop them, Yvette struggled, but they had the numbers. Several had already passed her and were about to open the children's room door.

She hated herself for being useless, for not escaping earlier, and for letting the children get caught up in this mess.

Just as Yvette was falling into despair, a sharp voice interrupted the people trying to break in.

"Stop." Albert strode in and said coldly, "I dare anyone to move."

Cheryl's subordinates ignored Yvette, but they wouldn't dare ignore Albert. A powerful figure in the Valdemar Family, Albert called the shots in Cheryl's absence.

Everyone knew Albert could overthrow Cheryl but chose to respect her.

The leading woman quickly nodded. "Mr. Valdemar."

Albert's gaze swept over the group and finally landed on the person blocking Yvette. "What? My words don't count?"

"Your words count." The woman quickly waved her hand, summoning the others back, and stood in front of Albert with her shoulders hunched. "Mr. Valdemar, we were just following Mrs. Cheryl Valdemar's orders. Please don't make it difficult for us."

Albert's lips curled into a cold smile. "If you want to take the children, fine."

Hearing this, Yvette was stunned and looked at Albert in shock.

Albert paused and then said, "As long as you wanna go against me."

The group exchanged glances, looking panicked, and no one dared to take responsibility.

Albert suppressed his anger. "Get out!"

Seeing Albert protecting Yvette, the group didn't dare to act rashly. After all, making a living in the Valdemar Family and standing against the person in power was extremely foolish.

The leading woman lowered her head even more. "Sorry, Mr. Valdemar, we didn't think it through."

After speaking, the group hurriedly left.

The living room finally returned to peace. Yvette, who had been holding on, finally relaxed, her legs giving way, almost collapsing to the ground.

Recalling the scene of those people trying to forcibly take the children, Yvette was still terrified.

If the children were taken, Yvette didn't know how desperate she would become.

Seeing Yvette's pale face, Albert's expression also became serious.

He walked up to Yvette, looking down at her trembling eyelashes due to fear. "Do you understand now?"

Yvette, in a daze, didn't react for a moment.

"Do you understand why I wanted to announce to the world that you're back?" Albert said in a deep voice, "It's not just to tell everyone that my wife Yvette is back, but also to protect you."

Yvette's throat tightened. She opened her mouth but couldn't say anything.

Albert raised his hand, gently lifting her chin with his finger, making her delicate face face him. "There's no one in the Valdemar Family you can fight against, whether it's Grandma, David, or those relatives. Without my protection, you can't do anything."

A deep sense of powerlessness overwhelmed Yvette's heart. Albert was right; without protection, she couldn't take a step in the Valdemar Family.

Unable to protect herself, let alone the two children, Yvette felt the pressure of fate. The children were easily used as hostages against her. Desperate to escape the Valdemar Family, she knew she needed Albert's protection.

All of this, Yvette had to bear alone. For the sake of the children, she had to seek the shelter of someone powerful.

And in the Valdemar Family, it was clear that Albert was that person.

Yvette took a deep breath, controlling her trembling body, and slowly raised her head.

Her slightly raised face was pale, and her once lively eyes were now filled with stubborn tears.

Yvette's eyes glistened with moisture as she took a shaky step forward, her hair falling on her pure white nightgown, looking both tragic and fragile.

"Albert." Yvette seemed to have made a difficult decision, her fingertips digging into her palms, her voice tinged with a slight sob. "Please protect us."

Yvette didn't realize how much strength it took to say those words until she felt completely drained, body and soul, the moment she spoke.

Seemingly moved by Yvette's words, Albert stepped forward and without hesitation, embraced Yvette.

Feeling Albert's presence surrounding her, Yvette's body stiffened but she didn't resist.

Her breathing seemed to disappear, and except for her trembling eyelashes, she looked like a lifeless, broken puppet, at the mercy of others.

Realizing everything she had was fake left Yvette feeling utterly empty.

She once thought David truly liked her, silently protecting her for so many years, but when he was in trouble, he abandoned her first.

She thought Cheryl was the only one in the Valdemar Family who genuinely liked her, the only one who was good to her.

Whether she was Albert's wife Yvette or, after losing her memory, became David's wife "Jessica," everyone called her the most despicable person, except Cheryl, who let her follow her heart and wished her happiness.

She had no loving family, so from the beginning, when Cheryl was sincere to her, she poured a lot of emotions into Cheryl.

But now, Cheryl wanted to forcibly take the two children away from her.

Yvette's eyes were empty, but she heard Albert's deep, pleasant voice in her ear. "Do you know how long I've waited for you to say that?"

Albert's voice carried a barely noticeable joy as he confessed his feelings to Yvette, "Before today, honestly, I was always a bit reluctant to accept you and David's children. But today, I realized how important they are to you. I love you. So I will love everyone you love. From now on, I will protect you all. Not even Grandma can separate our family."

Yvette's nose tingled, and she couldn't hold back her tears.

Who could she trust? The Valdemar Family was a dangerous place.

Why did Albert have to get involved with her? And why did she with him?

Yvette tried to hold back her tears, but they flowed uncontrollably. Her body trembled, and Albert gently released her, revealing her tear-streaked face.

Albert raised his hand, cupping her face, wiping away the continuous stream of tears, and softly comforted her, "Don't cry. With me here, this will never happen again."
