Chapter 429 How? Embarrassed
Surrounded by Albert's bodyguards, it was no surprise Yvette's actions reached him quickly. She gazed at him silently.
Albert felt a slight stir in his heart.
He had been in the middle of a meeting with some business moguls interested in the project when a call from his bodyguard had thrown him off balance.
David had returned to Eldoria and showed up at the meeting Yvette attended.
Fortunately, the bodyguard informed him that David had only been in the private room for a few minutes before Yvette left.
Seeing Yvette obediently staying in the room now, Albert felt somewhat relieved.
His eyes were intense. "So, what do you want to do about this?"
Yvette looked at him, puzzled. "Do about what?"
"Ingrid," Albert raised an eyebrow slightly. "Should we send her to Sylvanor to expand the business?"
Yvette was stunned for a moment, then a smile appeared in her eyes. Remembering Sylvia's words, a warm feeling surged in her heart.
Since regaining her memory, she had never seriously considered Albert's current attitude towards her. She had been too caught up in the past hurts.
Sylvia was right; she needed to find evidence of the children's parentage and make it public as soon as possible.
It was not only a responsibility to the children but also to put Albert at ease.
With this in mind, Yvette raised her slender arm, hooked it around Albert's neck, and leaned in closer. "Albert, isn't this a bit like something a foolish king would do?"
Albert's lips curved up, and he followed her movement, wrapping an arm around her waist while his other hand played with her hair. "You do look like someone who could enchant a king right now."
As soon as he finished speaking, Yvette seemed to want to confirm his words. She stood on tiptoe and lightly kissed his lips.
She smiled and said, "Like this?"
Albert's eyes darkened, and he lifted her with one arm, heading towards the bed.
Yvette's body tensed, knowing what he intended to do. She nervously tightened her grip around his neck.
Her body nestled in his strong arms, and she buried her head in his chest.
The sun was shining brightly outside, but they were about to...
Sensing her shyness, Albert looked down at her and chuckled softly. "What? Feeling shy?"
"How could someone who enchants be shy?" Yvette's voice was soft. "The king won't be able to get out of bed."
Albert paused, raising an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"
His voice carried a hint of warning, making Yvette realize she might have been too bold.
She buried her head deeper and mumbled, "I was just joking."
Albert said, "Then I need to show you how funny it really is."
In the end, Yvette couldn't laugh at all. Despite the bright room, she fell asleep immediately after they finished. Half-asleep, she felt Albert cleaning her up and holding her. Using the last bit of her energy, she opened her eyes to look at him.
Albert was looking down at her, a satisfied smile in his eyes.
Yvette's mind was still clear. She snuggled against Albert's chest and mumbled, "Tomorrow, I really need to go shopping with Sylvia."
Albert kissed her smooth forehead. "Okay."
Albert wanted to say more, but Yvette's breathing had already steadied—she was asleep. With work still to do, he carefully got up.
The last time Yvette mentioned leaving the estate to go shopping with Sylvia, Albert had felt uneasy.
But recently, Yvette had become more cheerful and distanced herself from David, which reassured him. Since she wanted to go out and relax, he should agree. After all, she hadn't taken a break since regaining her memory.
With this in mind, Albert went to the suite's study and made a call. "Send me pictures of the new dresses from Elegance Threads."
Vincent on the other end sounded surprised, "Are you buying them for Mrs. Valdemar? Should I follow the usual CEO routine and get them all? Give her a surprise?"
Albert frowned. "No, just send me the pictures. I'll choose one."
"Oh." Vincent sounded a bit disappointed, as if he was hoping to see Albert's usual grand gestures. "Got it."
After hanging up, the pictures quickly arrived on Albert's phone.
Albert swiftly chose a silk dress that suited Yvette's calm and graceful temperament. It wasn't limited to formal occasions and would be perfect for everyday outings.
Albert sent the picture back to Vincent and texted: [This one. Deliver it to the estate. She needs it for tomorrow.]
Vincent replied: [Understood.]
Albert put down his phone and started reviewing the meeting notes and proposals from various groups regarding the project.
But despite the words in front of him, Albert couldn't focus.
Frowning, he picked up his phone text Vincent again: [Send the other dresses to the wardrobe at the house in the country.]
Vincent answered: [Yes, Mr. Valdemar.]
Yvette slept from afternoon until the next morning. When she slowly opened her eyes, she found herself alone in the large room. She walked to the window, pulled back the curtains, and let the morning sunlight flood in. Taking a deep breath, she got ready and stepped out.
Sylvia was already waiting at the door, looking visibly anxious.
Sylvia asked, "Yvette, are you sure this will work?"
"I've thought about it a lot. You're right. Given David's cautious nature, the evidence must be with him." Yvette frowned, her expression serious. "His villa in Eldoria holds many secrets. I've seen him acting suspiciously there more than once."
Sylvia asked, "Are you planning to go to his house?"
"Yes." Yvette's face was somber. "I noticed his odd behavior early on, but I thought it was just personal matters he didn't want me to know about."
Sylvia looked at her worriedly. "Are you sure the evidence of the children's birth is in that villa?"
"I'm not sure, but I have to try." Yvette took a deep breath. "If I find the evidence proving the children are Albert's, I believe he will be very happy."
"Of course!" Sylvia said earnestly. "If he knows the children are his and that you've always belonged to him, he'll be over the moon!"
"Yes." Yvette's eyes grew more determined.
Sylvia added, "But Yvette, what if someone at the villa sees you and tells David?"
"It's fine. Since he brought me back, only an old housekeeper remains at the villa." Yvette paused and said, "And he has a habit of leaving the villa every Tuesday from nine to twelve to go to church for prayers."
