Chapter 370 I Am the Patient's Wife

Yvette sat at the emergency room entrance, holding the two children in her arms, lost in thought. Each time she remembered Albert falling from the third floor to protect them, her heart ached.

Even though he didn't believe that BoBo and CiCi were his children, he was still willing to use his body to protect them.

She was very touched and also very scared, afraid that Albert might lose his life because of this.

Falling from the third floor while protecting the two children in his arms, the danger was imaginable.

If something really happened to Albert, how would she explain it to the Valdemar Family? How would Cheryl blame her?

Yvette held the two children tightly, her body trembling constantly.

CiCi, frightened, had cried a lot and was now leaning weakly against Yvette.

BoBo, who had been keeping his eyes open, was now extremely tired, clutching Yvette's clothes tightly.

BoBo seemed to sense Yvette's sadness, turned around to look at her, and asked cautiously, "Mommy, Uncle Albert bled so much, does it hurt a lot?"

Yvette's lips moved. "Probably."

As soon as she spoke, Yvette realized how hoarse her voice was.

CiCi blinked. "Mommy, did Uncle Albert get hurt saving us? He really bled a lot, even BoBo's pants have blood on them."

Yvette looked down and saw the dried bloodstains on BoBo's pants, feeling very uncomfortable. "Yes, he saved you. You should like him."

"I do." CiCi hugged Yvette's neck and said seriously, "Uncle Albert is actually very nice, even though he can be stern sometimes. But Daddy can be stern too, and we still like Daddy. Uncle Albert saved us, so we like him too."

Yvette was stunned. "David is stern with you?"

"Yes." CiCi shrank her neck and said a little aggrievedly, "But Daddy won't be stern with us in front of Mommy, because he's afraid you will be unhappy."

Yvette frowned and asked BoBo, "Does he only get stern with you when you do something wrong?"

BoBo pouted slightly and said calmly, "Sometimes Daddy is in a bad mood and gets a little stern."

Although Yvette had long known that David wasn't as good to the two children as he appeared to be, knowing that he would be stern with them when she wasn't around still made her feel a bit displeased.

David was the kind of person who could show different sides to different people, truly a master of acting.

As she was thinking, BoBo suddenly tugged at Yvette's clothes. "Mommy."

Yvette came back to her senses and looked at BoBo. "Yes?"

BoBo pursed his lips, seemingly considering whether to say something.

Yvette looked at his puzzled eyes and gently guided him. "Sweetie, you can ask Mommy anything."

"Okay." BoBo nodded. "Mommy, I want to ask, you said last time that we should treat Uncle Albert as our dad, does that still count?"

Yvette was taken aback. "You don't want to?"

"It's not that." BoBo said seriously, "If Mommy really wants us to treat him as our dad, and he saved us, I think I can slowly get used to it."

Yvette looked at BoBo's little face, feeling a bit shocked.

There might still be some inexplicable attraction between biological father and children.

BoBo, who had always looked up to David as a role model, was starting to waver.

Yvette's mind was a bit confused. She patted BoBo's head. "Mommy hasn't decided yet. Let me think about it, okay?"

BoBo replied, "Okay."

Yvette kissed the two children's faces, and the three of them seemed a bit down.

At this moment, Vincent finally arrived.

Vincent nodded. "Mrs. Valdemar, the matter with Tyrell has been handled. The money has been recovered, and the people have been caught. He and his accomplices will be punished accordingly."

Yvette's eyes reddened again, and she nodded. "Thank you."

"I also understand the situation with Mr. Valdemar's injury." Mentioning Albert's injury, Vincent's eyes also reddened slightly. "After we went upstairs, our men were already laying down mats just in case. But things happened too quickly and suddenly, the mats weren't fully laid out when Mr. Valdemar..."

Before Vincent finished speaking, Yvette's tears had already fallen.

"According to them, Mr. Valdemar could have adjusted his landing point, but for the children's safety, he didn't dare to use force." Vincent took a deep breath. "But fortunately, you and the children are safe, so Mr. Valdemar should be relieved."

Yvette's face turned even paler. "I hope he's okay."

After what seemed like an eternity, the emergency room door finally opened.

Yvette immediately held the two children and stood up to meet the doctor. "Doctor! How is he?"

Yvette looked at the doctor nervously, her eyes full of worry and hope.

The doctor took off his mask. "The patient is not in life-threatening condition, but due to the high-altitude fall with a heavy load and almost no cushioning, there are fractures and open wounds that will require further treatment. But there's one more thing..."

Yvette's eyes reddened, and she looked up at the doctor. "Please, go on."

The doctor raised his hand and adjusted his glasses. "May I ask your relationship with the patient?"

Yvette's lips moved slightly. "I am his wife. You can tell me directly."

The doctor nodded. "Then please hand the children to someone else and come to the office with me. I'll explain the details there."

Hearing this, Yvette's legs went weak, and she almost fell.

Fortunately, Vincent reached out to support her.

As a former doctor, Yvette naturally knew what it meant when a doctor asked to talk in the office.

She slowly squatted down, controlling her emotions, and said to BoBo and CiCi, "Sweeties, you stay here with Vincent for a while. Mommy is going to talk to the doctor, okay?"

BoBo and CiCi looked a bit panicked but still nodded obediently.

Yvette handed the children to Vincent and followed the doctor into the office.

Standing in front of the doctor's desk, Yvette's heart skipped a beat, and a sense of foreboding spread through her.

She took a deep breath. "Doctor, is there a problem with his injuries?"

"There's a bit of a concern." The doctor, seeing Yvette's unstable emotions, spoke cautiously, "It appears that his spine is injured."

Yvette's back stiffened, and her voice began to tremble. "Is there a risk of paralysis?"
