Chapter 191 We Are Definitely Geting Divorced
Yvette's words hit Sylvia like a ton of bricks, and she needed a second to process.
"Wait, you were drugged? What kind of drug?" Sylvia asked, her voice full of worry.
Yvette filled her in on both incidents. She paused, choosing her words carefully. "Last time, I thought it was just because I was drunk, but this time, I didn't drink at all."
Both times, Sylvia had been the one to take Yvette out, which freaked her out. "Didn't you say you blacked out last time?"
"Yeah, but this time I only had some sparkling water." Yvette pursed her lips. "It must've happened when you took that call and I went to the restroom. Someone must've spiked my drink."
Sylvia was so scared it took her a while to snap out of it. "Do you have any idea who did it? How are you feeling now? How did you handle the drug?"
Sylvia bombarded Yvette with questions, and Yvette looked down. She didn't want to get into it, so she vaguely replied, "Luckily, nothing irreversible happened."
"I'm so sorry, Yvette!" Sylvia felt super guilty. "Both times, it was me who took you there. We should avoid places like that from now on."
Yvette thought about what Albert had said. 'Is it really her fault?' she wondered.
"Okay, you get some rest. I'll find time to bring your bag over," Yvette said.
Sylvia replied, "I was planning to visit your mom at the hospital tomorrow anyway. See you there."
"Alright."
The next morning, everyone showed up for the morning meeting on time.
When Violet walked in, Sissy quickly waved her over to sit next to her. Sissy leaned in close to Violet's ear, saying, "Violet, guess what I saw after I hung up the phone yesterday?"
"What did you see?" Violet asked while organizing her notebook.
Sissy was about to spill but felt a sudden pressure. She looked up and met Albert's gaze. His cold eyes swept over Sissy's face, making her shiver and swallow her words.
Sissy instinctively shook her head, forgetting what she was about to say. Just then, the leader took the stage and started the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the leader announced the shift adjustment plan, which shocked Sissy. "If anyone has any questions, you can ask me after the meeting," the leader said.
As soon as he said this, everyone looked at Sissy, waiting for her reaction. After all, being suddenly taken off so many shifts would upset anyone unless they requested it themselves.
Just as everyone expected, Sissy couldn't wait until after the meeting and stood up immediately. "Why have I been taken off so many shifts this week?"
The leader looked down, confirmed her situation, and nodded. "Yes, I'm aware. You are on the same flight as Albert several times this week. If you have any questions, please confirm with him first and then come to me. Alright, everyone, let's wrap it up."
Hearing this, Sissy was dumbfounded. She never expected Albert to do this. She finally understood that Albert's words, "This isn't over," were serious.
Violet frowned, glancing between Sissy and Albert. "Sissy, what's going on? Want me to ask for you?"
Sissy's hands were clenched into fists at her sides. She swallowed hard and shook her head helplessly. "No need."
Sissy didn't dare to confront Albert. She couldn't oppose him because if he revealed what happened last night, she'd be done for.
Violet, clueless about the real story, saw Sissy's collapse and helplessness and decided to stand up for her. "Even if you made things tough for Yvette, he can't treat you like this!"
Ignoring Sissy's attempts to stop her, Violet stormed over to Albert. She blocked Albert, who was about to leave, and looked up at him angrily. "Albert, I heard from Sissy. She just made things a bit difficult for Yvette. Do you really need to use your position to get back at her?"
"A bit difficult?" Albert sneered, his tone dripping with disdain. "Is that what she told you?"
"Yes, Yvette suffered a little, and you're making it hard for her at work because of that?" Violet persisted, blocking Albert's way. "Can't Yvette endure a little hardship?"
Albert cast a cold glance at Sissy in the distance, and he said to Violet in a chilling tone, "Tell her that if I can find someone to do to her what she did to Yvette yesterday, I'll let her resume her shifts."
Sissy, who had come to stop Violet, turned pale upon hearing this. She immediately ran over and tugged at Violet's arm, her voice trembling and on the verge of tears. "Let's go, Violet. Let's just accept the shift arrangement."
Violet was puzzled. "Didn't you say you just made things a bit difficult for her? Let him do the same to you if it means you can get your shifts back."
Sissy shook her head vigorously. "I'll just take it as a break, Violet. Let's go."
Sissy pulled Violet to leave, but Albert stepped forward and blocked their path. Sissy looked up in panic and met Albert's piercing gaze.
Albert said in a deep voice, "If this happens again, it won't just be a suspension."
"I understand." Sissy averted her gaze, keeping her head down and not daring to say more.
Albert gave her one last warning look before walking away. Albert's cold aura puzzled Victor, who had just arrived.
Victor had heard about Sissy's situation and, seeing Albert and Sissy talking, curiously asked, "What's the conflict with Sissy? What did she do?"
"She was behind what happened yesterday." Albert's words were brief, but Victor immediately understood.
He looked at Albert in surprise. "You mean, she was the one who drugged Yvette?"
"Yes."
Victor opened his mouth but couldn't respond for a while. "Yvette must have felt terrible after being drugged. Did anything happen between you two?"
Albert frowned but kept walking, retorting, "So what if something did?"
"That's not the worst outcome," Victor said. "Couples often reconcile after such incidents. If you two had sex again, wouldn't that help you reconcile?"
Albert's mind flashed with Yvette's disgusted and resistant expression and her tearful cry of "David," making his aura even colder.
Albert sneered, "There's no reconciliation. We are definitely getting a divorce."
