Chapter 646 Hold On—Is Mom Being Hit On?

Yvette's smile spread across her face—Albert was becoming more and more thoughtful.

"You're really so good to us!" she said softly.

Albert's voice carried a hint of regret and jealousy. "I wasn't there for you all those years."

Yvette caught the underlying meaning in his words and laughed softly, the sound like a gentle breeze across still water—warm yet playful.

She suddenly asked, "Are you jealous?"

Albert hadn't expected her to confront him so directly and found himself momentarily speechless.

"Jealous?" CiCi looked at Albert curiously. "Daddy, are you jealous of Uncle David? But isn't he your brother? He helped raise me and BoBo!"

CiCi's words left both Yvette and Albert stunned. "What?"

Yvette stared at CiCi in disbelief. "CiCi, who taught you to say that?"

CiCi pointed at BoBo, completely oblivious to any problem with her words. "BoBo told me, and I thought about it—I think BoBo's right!"

BoBo looked up at Yvette and Albert, his thin lips—so similar to Albert's—pressed together. His serious gaze seemed to be searching their eyes for the truth.

Just as the atmosphere seemed to grow heavy, Albert suddenly let out a soft laugh.

"Yes, BoBo's right." Albert's voice carried a hint of resignation. "Fine, I admit it—I am a little jealous. I wish I could have been the one by your side all those years."

Despite Albert's efforts to hide his emotions, regret still managed to slip through.

The wave of melancholy that washed over him made both BoBo and CiCi feel sad.

"It's okay, Daddy! From now on, you'll be the one with us!"

"Daddy, is that why you were willing to leave your work behind to bring us to the beach?"

Albert looked at the children's soft, adorable faces and nodded. "Yes."

"You're the best daddy in the whole world!" CiCi said earnestly. "Me and BoBo, and Mommy—we're all going to love you so much!"

CiCi's voice was sweet yet serious, melting Albert's heart.

He smiled slightly. "I love you all too."

Yvette felt her heart flutter, her eyes downcast as warmth spread through her chest and settled deep within.

Sunlight danced across the rippling ocean, each golden ray scattering like a handful of diamonds tossed into the water.

The breeze carried the briny tang of the sea, laced with the faint, fishy scent drifting from far-off fishing boats—the unmistakable breath of the ocean.

Today, they had come to the bay everyone talked about. The shore was alive with people—families, couples, children—while waves crashed against the rocks in a steady rhythm, blending with bursts of laughter and playful shouts.

All around them, people chased one another through the surf, their voices rising and falling like the tide. Albert and Yvette, with BoBo and CiCi in tow, moved easily among the crowd, soaking in the joy of the place.

Overhead, white clouds drifted lazily across the blue, mirroring the white sails scattered across the horizon. Seagulls wheeled and called, diving now and then to skim the water before climbing back into the open sky.

The sheer vitality of it all filled Yvette with a quiet, soaring joy.

BoBo and CiCi each clutched a small bucket and shovel, their prizes inside—shells, tiny crabs, and sea snails gathered like treasures from the tide.

The two children were sweating from play when CiCi suddenly looked up at them. "Daddy, Mommy, I need to use the bathroom."

BoBo chimed in, "Me too."

"Come on then." Yvette waved them over. "But you might need to hold it a little longer—the restrooms are quite far."

"Really far?" CiCi's face scrunched up. "I don't think I can wait much longer."

Yvette looked concerned. "Then we'd better hurry."

Before Yvette could finish speaking, Albert had already scooped up both BoBo and CiCi, striding toward the restrooms.

Seeing this, Yvette immediately broke into a jog to keep up.

Albert glanced back at her. "It's pretty far. Stay here and watch their 'treasure'—I'll take them."

With his long legs and large strides, Yvette realized after a few steps that she couldn't keep pace.

"Alright, I'll wait here for you all."

The sky was sapphire blue, sunlight dancing on the ocean's surface in rippling waves. The sea breeze gently caressed BoBo and CiCi's faces, bringing refreshing coolness.

The two children emerged from the restroom, running and chasing each other, their laughter echoing in the sea breeze.

With so many people around the beach, Albert didn't feel comfortable letting them walk alone, so he quickened his pace to follow behind them, their footsteps leaving a trail of prints in the sand.

"Daddy, look! There's a little crab crawling over there!" CiCi pointed excitedly toward the distant beach. "It's so amazing!"

BoBo and CiCi held hands and ran over eagerly, carefully observing the little crab's every movement.

"BoBo, why does the little crab walk sideways?" CiCi asked while staring at the crab.

"Because..."

Albert was curious to hear BoBo's answer, but no continuation came.

He looked at BoBo questioningly, only to find him staring off into the distance.

"Daddy!" BoBo noticed Albert watching him, a flash of panic crossing his eyes.

"What is it?"

Albert followed BoBo's gaze and saw Yvette standing face-to-face with a strange man, apparently in conversation.

Albert's expression darkened slightly, his brow furrowing.

BoBo's voice carried a hint of awkwardness. "Who is Mom talking to?"

Hearing this, CiCi's attention shifted from the crab to Yvette in the distance, asking curiously. "Is Mom being hit on?"

Albert's face grew stern.
