Chapter 485 Yvette Woke Up
Albert's gaze was as cold and deep as a winter lake.
When he spoke, his voice was so chilling that no one dared to make a sound.
James was momentarily stunned, not expecting Albert to show up at the Valdemar Group so casually.
He felt a bit awkward, cleared his throat, but didn't dare to openly contradict him.
After all, Albert was the one in charge now.
Even if he wasn't in the best state and wasn't managing the Valdemar Group much, it didn't change the fact that he had absolute authority there.
A sharp-eyed senior shareholder immediately spoke up, "We've been waiting for you to come back for a long time. Seeing you pull yourself together and return to the Valdemar Group puts us at ease!"
Everyone seemed to have been awakened and quickly chimed in.
"That's right, without you here, we couldn't move forward. Only with you can our work progress!"
"Mr. Albert Valdemar, we've been eagerly awaiting your return to take charge!"
James gritted his teeth in frustration. He knew these people were fickle, but he didn't expect them to switch sides right under his nose!
They had just told him much the same, but now, when speaking to Albert, their tone softened and their flattery grew more extravagant.
James glared at a few of them, but they ignored him, looking firmly at Albert, afraid their loyalty wouldn't be noticed.
Albert let out a cold snort, fully understanding the situation.
His gaze fell on James, his eyes revealing a sharp determination, a symbol of absolute authority.
James's face changed slightly. Over the past few years, Albert had kept him so firmly under his thumb that he'd almost lost the will to fight back.
He had only just begun to regain a bit of authority, but Albert had already managed to reassert himself.
He was unwilling to accept this and spoke again, his tone now dripping with sarcasm.
"Oh, Albert, it seems you recovered quickly with all your experience?"
Mentioning Yvette, Albert's expression changed slightly, but he remained expressionless.
He knew James was trying to provoke him.
"She came back to continue being the lady of the Valdemar Group. How could I fall at such a time?" Albert said lightly. "I am the one in charge of the Valdemar Group, so I naturally have to shoulder the responsibility. Didn't you hear? Only with me here can the Valdemar Group continue to operate smoothly."
Albert let out a cold laugh. "The current Valdemar Group isn't something just anyone can handle."
His voice echoed through the conference room, each word driving home his authority.
Under Albert's intense gaze, James's face turned pale. He was unwilling but had to lower his head.
Albert was right; he couldn't compete with Albert now.
Unless...
As James was thinking, Albert stood up straight, glanced at everyone, and said, "From this moment on, all work will proceed as usual. You can coordinate directly with Vincent."
After speaking, Albert adjusted his dark gray tie with subtle patterns and left the conference room, leaving everyone inside looking at each other in confusion.
James watched Albert's stern and authoritative back, his face contorted with anger.
He couldn't compete with Albert now, but as long as Yvette was alive, there would be a day she returned!
Yvette was like a ticking time bomb. Once she returned to her position as Albert's wife, her father's crime of killing Sarah would be brought up again.
As long as he wanted to protect Yvette, Albert would eventually be brought down!
In front of the Hayes Mansion, a modest sedan was parked under the moonlight.
Bodyguards in black uniforms, holding advanced detection devices, meticulously checked the car's interior.
These devices were the latest portable scanning equipment, capable of detecting various anomalies inside the vehicle, from metal objects to non-metal objects, from dangerous items to contraband, nothing could escape their detection.
Every tiny corner and crevice, those carefully hidden listening devices, were all exposed under the scrutiny of these devices.
Four drivers waited nearby, their faces expressionless but their eyes filled with vigilance and tension.
Gabrielle, worried, saw Felix still randomly arranging the driving order for the four drivers and couldn't help but complain, "Felix, you're being too cautious. Arranging this every day is too troublesome."
Felix handed the draw lots to the four drivers and glared at her.
Gabrielle didn't dare say more and swallowed her complaint.
After the four drivers received their orders, Felix and Gabrielle got into the car. Felix then said in a deep voice, "Albert will definitely target us. What do you know? Without caution, we'll be discovered sooner or later!"
Thinking of Albert's cold and powerful presence, Gabrielle shivered and finally didn't dare to complain anymore.
In the spacious and bright CEO office, Albert's gaze fell outside the glass window, quietly watching the bustling cityscape.
Sunlight streamed in through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, casting light on his face, highlighting his chiseled features.
Vincent knocked and entered, walking up to Albert and nodding slightly. "Mr. Valdemar, there's news from the Hayes family."
Albert frowned slightly. "Speak."
"Felix is indeed cunning, not the usual nice guy he appears to be," Vincent said gravely. "He has four or five drivers at home. After leaving the Hayes Mansion, each driver only knows the small segment of the route they need to drive."
Albert asked, "What about eavesdropping?"
Vincent replied, "Impossible. His detection devices work multiple times. The equipment we arranged can't be used, so even if the drivers know their route, they can't relay the information to us in real-time."
Albert frowned, silent.
Vincent continued, "Moreover, for the last segment, he drops off the drivers and drives himself. So we have no way to track his location."
Albert let out a cold laugh, curling his lips.
When he went to the Hayes Mansion, he was fooled by the couple's act. But after returning, Albert calmly analyzed the situation. Even if his grandmother didn't want him to find Yvette, there was no need to direct him to trouble others.
Sure enough, following the Hayes family led to results.
Their caution indicated that Yvette was in their hands!
Felix parked the car a few miles away from the suburban villa, and the couple walked to the villa.
As soon as they entered the villa gate, a servant hurriedly greeted them.
"Mr. Hayes! Mrs. Hayes! She's awake, she's awake!"
Felix and Gabrielle were stunned.
Gabrielle instantly became excited. "Has Clifford woken up?"
"No," the servant said. "The young lady has woken up!"
