Chapter 85 Why is Yvette Here?
Even though Victor had called Albert several times to urge him, Albert had never called to urge Yvette.
She declined his offer to pick her up, saying the service should be up to par and that she would take a taxi herself.
After that, Yvette never contacted him again.
Albert couldn't find a reason to force her anymore.
Afraid that Yvette might not find him when she arrived, Albert parked the car at the entrance to wait for her.
Yvette's recent attitude towards him was quite harsh, making Albert a bit agitated. He got out of the car and lit a cigarette.
Albert took a deep drag and slowly exhaled.
Amid the swirling smoke, Yvette appeared in a black dress, gradually approaching as the smoke dissipated.
Albert was stunned and took a moment to react, his body straightening up from leaning against the car door.
His Adam's apple moved slightly, and Albert frowned deeply. He looked at her with a furrowed brow, taking the cigarette from his lips.
Albert's jaw tightened, his face darkening. With a stern expression, he extinguished the cigarette, unable to stop frowning.
Yvette didn't notice the change in Albert's expression and walked up to him on her own.
Although he had put out the cigarette, the smell of smoke still made her frown. It seemed he had been smoking a lot lately.
Albert was much taller than Yvette and looked down at her from his height.
She was wearing that very sexy black dress again. The dress had a low neckline and was form-fitting, showcasing Yvette's beautiful figure. Due to his occupation, Albert had been dealing with many beautiful flight attendants, but he found Yvette's style to be exactly his preference.
After getting pregnant, Yvette's chest had become fuller, and with the square neckline, a slight bend would reveal her cleavage. Her fair and delicate skin further stimulated his desire.
It seemed she had taken his casual remark seriously. She had dressed up nicely today, with matching accessories and heavier makeup than usual, exuding a dignified and glamorous beauty. From the moment she appeared, every man, regardless of age, had their eyes on her.
Albert's gaze darkened subtly.
Yvette sensed Albert's mood shift. Although he didn't say anything, his displeasure was written all over his face.
Yvette glanced at him in confusion. "What's wrong?"
Albert raised an eyebrow and said in a low voice. "Why are you wearing that dress?"
Yvette looked down at herself, "I don't have many formal dresses, so I chose this one because you said it looked nice."
Not expecting his reaction, Yvette asked seriously, "Is there a problem?"
Albert irritably glanced at her full chest and slender waist.
If there was a problem, there indeed was one.
Yvette said, "If you're not satisfied, I can go back and change."
With that, Yvette turned to hail a taxi.
Albert pulled her back. He replied coldly, "No need. Let's go."
Inside the private room.
Victor and his group had already arrived, chatting casually.
One of the group asked,"Violet, didn't Victor say Albert would come too? Why didn't you come with him? You came by yourself?"
Another guy remarked, "Albert is getting more and more outrageous. Do men always change after being in a relationship for a long time?"
Violet smiled awkwardly and ambiguously replied, "I couldn't wait to see you all, so I came by myself."
Everyone continued to criticize Albert, but it was all in jest.
"Albert is so lucky to have such a considerate and generous girlfriend."
"Violet, you shouldn't spoil him too much. I'll help you teach him a lesson later."
Everyone sided with Violet, making her feel at ease and accepting their words.
She was wearing a white dress today, the type Albert liked seeing her in when they were in school.
Thinking of Albert, Violet responded to everyone while occasionally glancing at the door, feeling anxious.
She had gone to great lengths to get Victor to invite Albert out under the pretense of a dinner gathering. She had to seize this rare opportunity to clear up the misunderstandings between them.
She believed Albert didn't stop loving her; he was just hesitant because Yvette was pregnant and they were married.
Violet reminded herself inwardly, 'He couldn't have fallen for Yvette. That wasn't how he acted when he liked someone.'
Violet looked at the door, still no one coming in, feeling a bit disappointed.
She pondered, 'Will he not come?'
Just as Violet was feeling desperate, there was a sudden knock on the private room door.
Violet became excited, watching as the door slowly opened, and Albert's tall and handsome figure appeared. She was so happy she almost cried.
"Albert's finally here!"
Everyone in the room stood up to greet Albert, and Violet also stood up excitedly.
But the next second, Albert stepped aside, revealing Yvette in a form-fitting black dress behind him.
Violet was stunned.
Walking down the long corridor, Yvette was pulled along by Albert, forced to follow him.
Looking at his tall and broad back, Yvette wanted to ask who his friends were several times but couldn't find the right moment.
At the door of the private room, Albert stopped.
Yvette looked at him in confusion, and the next second, Albert suddenly turned and adjusted the square neckline of her dress upwards.
Her chest was covered, but the bulging effect was just as sexy.
Albert was a bit annoyed.
Pushing open the door, they walked in together.
People inside were calling Albert's name enthusiastically, coming out to greet him. As they got closer, everyone noticed there were two people, leading to some awkwardness and hushed discussions.
"Albert, who is she?" A woman's voice asked, one of the friends' wives, looking back at Violet.
The question quickly plunged the room into an awkward silence. Everyone exchanged glances, their eyes filled with suppressed curiosity, darting between Albert, Yvette, and Violet.
Victor, who organized the gathering, was also stunned to see Yvette behind Albert.
'Albert actually brought Yvette?!'
Bringing his wife to meet Violet would make Violet very uncomfortable.
Seeing everyone suddenly turn from enthusiastic to silent, Yvette finally looked up, still unaware of the reason for their unease.
She looked at the crowd in the room, her gaze and hands restless.
She didn't know most of the people there, but finally spotted some familiar faces.
There was Victor.
And Violet.
Yvette frowned and glanced back at Albert.
She thought to herself, 'What was he thinking? Bringing me to a gathering with Violet, was he trying to embarrass me on purpose?'
