Chapter 348 Meeting Violet Again

Albert was taken aback for a moment, then carefully chose his words, "I've checked the birth records of the two children, you don't need to...say it like that."

He paused. "I want my own children, but that doesn't mean I won't protect BoBo and CiCi. I said I would treat them as my own, and I will."

Yvette forced a smile. "I was just joking."

Hearing Albert's words, Yvette felt a bit disappointed, but she couldn't blame him.

David had orchestrated everything perfectly, convincing the whole world that BoBo and CiCi were his children—Albert included. Now, even she couldn't prove the children's connection to Albert. The twins were identical, making it impossible to distinguish them, even with DNA.

Even if she forced Albert to accept it, he would always have doubts about the children's lineage, which would be harmful to them.

So, she still couldn't leave the children in the Valdemar Family.

Seeing Yvette's serious expression, Albert comforted her, "Once we have our own children, Grandma won't be able to oppose anymore."

He thought for a moment and said, "She is currently biased towards David from the children's perspective, but once our child is born, she won't be able to favor anyone."

Yvette nodded perfunctorily, but she didn't agree with Albert's words in her heart.

Albert's words made Yvette even more uneasy because she knew that if she got pregnant again, Cheryl would see her as even more unforgivable and would act against her more quickly.

Yvette turned over, even though she was in Albert's arms, she turned her back to him and clenched her fists.

The next morning, the stylist arrived as scheduled.

After all the makeup and styling were done, Yvette looked in the mirror and didn't recognize herself for a moment.

She was wearing a fishtail gown, the silver sequins on it shining brightly under the cold white spotlight, reflecting on her face and making her look luxurious and elegant.

The dress was form-fitting, showing off Yvette's curvaceous figure perfectly.

Yvette's beautiful curves caught Albert's eye, and a look of amazement flashed in his eyes, which darkened slightly.

While the stylist went to get something, Albert strode over to Yvette and couldn't help but wrap his arm around her slender waist.

Their bodies pressed together, and Albert's deep, husky voice sounded in her ear. "If it weren't for the auction dinner starting soon, this dress might not survive."

Yvette's body stiffened at his words. Just as she was about to speak, the stylist returned with a rustling sound outside.

She quickly pushed him away and let the stylist do the final touches.

The auction dinner was held in the hotel where they were staying.

The grand and bustling banquet hall was brightly lit. Although the auction hadn't started yet, people were already toasting each other, the rich aroma of wine wafting from the clinking glasses, filling the air.

Walking into the hall with Albert, their intimate posture immediately attracted many eyes.

Although many were not from Luken, they were clearly aware of some things about the Valdemar Group and Albert. Some women, upon seeing Yvette, showed meaningful expressions.

Yvette pretended not to notice those gazes but instinctively lowered her head, not wanting to be the center of attention.

Albert quickly noticed Yvette's evasive mood. He frowned slightly and lifted Yvette's chin with his fingers. "You are the star of today's auction, how can you keep your head down?"

Yvette's heart skipped a beat. "Why?"

"Because I want to buy something nice for the mistress of the Valdemar Group and make a stunning impression at the banquet." Albert's voice was full of certainty, making Yvette feel a bit dazed.

His expectations for the banquet far exceeded what Yvette had imagined, leaving her feeling more fear than anticipation. She forced a smile.

Albert leaned in and whispered in Yvette's ear, "Bid on anything you want today, as long as you like it, I'll get it for you."

Yvette lowered her eyes, her long lashes hiding the complex emotions in her eyes, and obediently nodded. "Got it."

Suddenly, there was a commotion nearby.

Someone else had arrived, and judging by the noise, it was someone important, finally diverting attention away from her.

Yvette instinctively looked over and saw someone unexpected: Violet.

At that moment, Violet was walking in with an older man. Her hair was elegantly styled, and her high-end evening gown made her look noble. She looked like a proud peacock, not even glancing in Yvette's direction.

Yvette was stunned, feeling that the man's back looked familiar, as if she had seen him before.

She instinctively looked back at Albert, only to find his expression calm, as if he had known all along.

Did he not care anymore? They had once been so in love.

Recalling their last encounter when they were kidnapped together, Yvette's heart ached even more.

Just then, Rebecca, the long-unseen daughter of the Morgan Group, suddenly appeared. Ignoring everyone's gaze, she rushed directly to Violet.

People around them started whispering.

Yvette then remembered that the old man was Rodolfo, the president of the Morgan Group, and Rebecca was his only daughter.

Rebecca was extremely angry, looking like she wanted to tear someone apart, and directly raised her hand against Violet, but Rodolfo kept stopping her.

Everyone's attention shifted from the auction to the gossip.

Rodolfo called out, "Rebecca! Don't be reckless! Violet is pregnant!"

Rebecca didn't care. "If you dare to bring this shameless woman to such a place, don't blame me for not showing you respect!"

Violet was such a proud girl, how could she be with an old man like Rodolfo?

Having spent so much money to redeem her, Albert couldn't let her be with another man—especially an old one.

Throughout the commotion, Violet remained calm. She looked indifferently at the furious Rebecca, with a faint, almost imperceptible sneer on her lips.

Thanks to Rebecca's constant troublemaking, Rodolfo became more and more biased towards her, feeling sorry for her grievances and scolding. He kept compensating the Swift Family, who had been on the brink of survival and had offered her to Rodolfo.

Her virginity, which she had kept for Albert, greatly pleased the fifty-something Rodolfo. He treated her like a treasure. After she got pregnant, he wanted to give her all the treasures in the world.

His spoiled daughter Rebecca was no match for her.

Violet's cold gaze swept the scene, landing on a familiar couple.

She'd recognize Albert and Yvette even if they turned to ashes.
