Chapter 639 Arriving at the Seaside

The Beach

The azure sky stretched endlessly above the sparkling blue ocean, dotted with pristine white clouds drifting lazily overhead. Seagulls soared in the distance, their cries carried on the gentle sea breeze.

The salt-tinged air filled Yvette's lungs as she breathed deeply, spreading her arms wide to embrace the refreshing ocean wind.

Golden sand shimmered under the warm sunlight. The crystal-clear water lapped gently at the shore as Albert and Yvette walked hand in hand along the beach, feeling the soft, warm sand beneath their feet. In this moment, it felt as though they were the only two people in the world.

Excited squeals broke the peaceful silence. Yvette turned to see BoBo and CiCi eagerly kicking off their shoes and racing toward the water's edge.

Watching the children run across the sand, collecting shells and smooth stones, Yvette's smile grew warmer and more tender.

In the distance, seagulls danced across the waves, their calls mingling with the children's laughter to create nature's perfect symphony.

Yvette turned to Albert, her eyes filled with gratitude. She knew he had sacrificed so much to make this trip possible.

Squeezing his hands tighter, she whispered, "I'm so glad you insisted we come."

Only now, experiencing this moment firsthand, did she truly understand how precious it was. If his work had kept them home, if her condition worsened later, this would have been their family's greatest regret.

BoBo and CiCi's laughter drifted on the ocean breeze, filling the entire beach with pure joy.

Albert and Yvette found themselves caught up in their children's happiness, sharing a knowing smile.

Albert's lips curved upward, his entire demeanor relaxed and carefree—a stark contrast to his usual tense, business-focused self.

"I'm your husband and BoBo and CiCi's father. This is what I should do—what I owe you all."

The word "owe" made Yvette pause.

She understood he was referring to all those years he'd been absent from their lives. Though he couldn't reclaim that lost time, he was determined to make up for it however he could.

Touched by his words, Yvette pressed her lips together softly and gazed toward the horizon.

She felt the salty breeze on her skin, heard the rhythmic crash of waves against the shore, saw the golden sand and turquoise water, and witnessed their children's unbridled joy.

She wished she could freeze this moment forever.

"Mommy! The water feels so nice and cool!" CiCi called out.

"Daddy! This place is amazing!" BoBo shouted with glee.

The children seemed completely absorbed in their seaside adventure, and their infectious happiness spread to Albert and Yvette.

"All we need to do is treasure every single moment, right?" Yvette smiled.

"Exactly." Albert nodded, releasing her hand to wrap his arm around her waist, pulling her closer.

Vincent had truly outdone himself—the secluded, uncommercial beach he'd found was perfect, with hardly any other visitors.

When Yvette shyly tried to step away, Albert murmured, "There's no one around."

Her cheeks flushed pink from her face to her ears as she glanced toward BoBo and CiCi.

"The children are right there," she protested gently.

Albert nodded toward the kids. "They're completely absorbed in building their sand castle. They won't notice."

With a mischievous smile, he tightened his arm around her waist while his other hand cupped the back of her neck, leaning down to capture her lips.

His warm breath grew closer, and Yvette felt her resistance melting away. Just as their lips were about to meet, her phone rang sharply.

Yvette stiffened and quickly pushed him away, fumbling for her phone. Noticing Albert's expectant gaze, she automatically put the call on speaker.

"Mrs. Valdemar, which beach are you and BoBo and CiCi on exactly?" Beatrice's confused voice filled the air. "I've been searching everywhere but can't find you."

"You're coming? You mean you're already here?" Yvette asked, bewildered.

From the corner of her eye, she saw Albert's expression darken considerably.

"Yes! Could you share your location with me, Mrs. Valdemar?"

Beatrice's anxious voice made Yvette feel helpless. She glanced nervously at Albert, whose expression had grown even darker—stormy with barely contained irritation, as if he might explode at any moment.

He was completely different from the relaxed, content Albert of just moments before.

Yvette sighed. "Alright, I'll send it to you now."

As she hung up and prepared to share her location, Albert snatched the phone from her hands.

Yvette looked up at him questioningly. Albert stared back, his eyes dark and intense, with a barely visible flame of anger that he seemed to want her to notice.

"Are you really going to send her our location?" Albert paused meaningfully.

Yvette looked conflicted. "Beatrice has already come all this way. This is a foreign country—if I don't tell her where we are, she'll be stranded here alone with nowhere to stay."

She looked at him helplessly. "Whatever her reasons for following us, she's traveled such a long way, presumably for our sake."

When Albert remained silent, his eyes downcast, Yvette asked hesitantly, "So... should I still send her the location?"

Albert's expression remained grave, his deep eyes unreadable, making it impossible for Yvette to gauge his thoughts.

Just as Yvette was about to give up and put her phone away, Albert finally spoke.

"Go ahead and send it." His tone carried an unmistakable edge of barely controlled frustration. "I need to have a serious conversation with Vincent about how Beatrice—along with apparently everyone else—knows our itinerary and managed to follow us here."

Yvette studied Albert's face. "You don't suspect I told Beatrice, do you?"

"Impossible," Albert replied without hesitation, offering no explanation but speaking with complete certainty.

Yvette nodded. "You're right—I definitely didn't tell Beatrice anything."

As she shared her location with Beatrice, Albert took the phone and watched the approaching dot on the map, his frown deepening.

"I know it wasn't you," Albert said grimly. "But I'm going to find whoever authorized her to follow us here."

It obviously wasn't Vincent—he wouldn't dare make such decisions. And Yvette would never invite someone to disrupt their family vacation. Which meant it could only be...

Albert's thoughts were interrupted by Beatrice's voice calling out from the distance.
