Chapter 63 Have You Fallen in Love with Yvette?

Steve was startled by Albert's violent demeanor and quickly grabbed a few tissues to hand to Albert.

"Albert, are you okay?"

Beer from the exploded can sprayed everywhere. Albert finally came to his senses, looked down at himself, and declined the tissues offered.

"No need." He acted as if nothing had happened and said to Steve, "I'm going out for a smoke."

With that, he walked out directly.

Steve watched his back, then looked at the mess all over the floor. He could only confirm one thing: Albert had probably been dumped, and it was likely the betrayal kind, otherwise, he wouldn't be like this.

He had been too busy lately and hadn't had time to gossip with everyone.

He spontaneously wondered, 'Who was Albert's girlfriend? How could she turn someone as calm and rational as Albert into this?'

Violet, feeling down and with nowhere to go, followed Sissy to the bar.

Sissy looked at the menu and skillfully started ordering. "You're in a bad mood today, let's open a good bottle of wine?"

Violet couldn't drink, staring blankly ahead, and waved her hand. "Order whatever you like."

Sissy happily took Violet's credit card to buy the expensive wine she had wanted for a long time.

The VIP suite was on the second floor, and in the large space, there were only Violet and Sissy, with expensive and luxurious wines piled on the table and a handsome waiter pouring drinks for them.

Sissy enjoyed this environment very much, but Violet was completely out of it, her gaze somewhat vacant.

Violet lowered her eyes, choking up a bit as she confided, "I think he might have feelings for Yvette."

Reflecting on this conclusion, Violet was overcome with a sense of heartache and helplessness. "What should I do? I'm definitely going to lose him."

Sissy raised her beautiful wine glass and elegantly sipped her drink. Although she came from an ordinary background and wasn't as outstanding as Violet, Violet often sought her out to confide in when hurt by love.

Seeing Violet on the verge of collapse, Sissy asked unhurriedly, "Why do you say that?"

Violet's expression was painful. "There's something off about the way he looks at Yvette, it's laced with possessiveness. That's the kind of look a man gives a woman he's got a thing for."

Sissy swirled her wine glass and said, "Possessiveness doesn't necessarily mean he likes her, right?"

Violet looked up blankly. "Then what is it?"

Sissy sighed. "You still think too highly of Albert. Men all have desires. Yvette is open to sharing a bed with him, something you're not, so naturally, he gravitates towards her. It's common for men to feel a certain possessiveness towards women they've been intimate with; it's more about a sense of claim than it is about love."

"Would he?"

"Of course!" Sissy said, "Violet, you're just too conservative. There's no reason to wait in matters like this. If you love him, then sleep with him."

"Yvette must really know her way around the bedroom, that's why she's got Albert on a leash. It's all about lust, not love. If it were true love, why would they be secret lovers for two years, even have a kid and tie the knot, yet keep it all hush-hush? This shows Albert doesn't really hold Yvette in high regard." Sissy gave Violet's shoulder a reassuring pat, "Violet, in games like these, you can't let a woman like that outdo you."

Violet chuckled with a hint of self-mockery. "But what can I do now? Clearly, I'm the first love, how did I end up being scolded as the mistress?"

"Things have gotten to this stage, let's put aside pride and propriety. Do you want to see Albert with someone else?" Sissy reminded.

Violet clenched her fists. "That's impossible, unless I'm dead."

"Exactly." Sissy lowered her voice, "When I went out to buy wine just now, I saw Albert too. He's had a lot to drink and can barely walk straight. Violet, tonight is an opportunity."

Sissy said solemnly, "Put aside your pride and sleep with him. Make him not need to find other women. Let him know that you're much better than a woman like Yvette."

Albert finished his cigarette, and the full effect of the alcohol hit him. He felt dizzy, seeing double, and his steps were unsteady as he stumbled around, unable to find his room.

In the end, it was Steve who came out and found him.

Tonight's hefty bill earned Albert and Steve a room card from the manager. It's a VIP lounge, a perk given to high spenders, providing a place for heavily intoxicated patrons to rest. The environment inside was similar to a hotel.

Steve carried Albert to the room. As he opened the door, he felt a tinge of reluctance.

"How did I end up getting a room with a guy?" Steve really questioned his life choices.

After tossing Albert onto the bed, Steve realized he had dropped his phone and hurried out of the room to find it.

Albert lay on the bed, dazed, with his legs still on the floor, shoes on, in a twisted sleeping position.

In his hazy state, Albert saw a white figure enter the room, walking lightly and cautiously, a familiar sight.

Long hair draped over the shoulders, a small face, always with a submissive demeanor.

—Yvette?

Violet ran into Steve on her way and asked about Albert's whereabouts, then came directly. She had only intended to find Albert, but finding him in a resting room made Sissy's words echo in her ears. Her face instantly flushed to the roots of her neck.

Albert, thinking the person was Yvette, was still a bit angry, squinting his eyes and speaking coldly, "What are you doing here?"

Violet stood nervously by the bed, thinking he was talking to her, feeling a bit aggrieved. "If I don't come, you won't be mine anymore."

Hearing this tearful statement, Albert felt a bit better inside but still didn't want to voice his thoughts.

"You said you wanted to end it, now what do you want?"

Hearing Albert say this, Violet couldn't hold back any longer. "Our relationship can't end, it can never end. Albert, you are mine, and I am yours, that will never change."

Violet, trembling, got on the bed, leaned over, and whispered seductively, "Albert, let's start over. I'll give you everything you want."

The unusual fragrance stimulated Albert, making him suddenly open his eyes.

Violet's hand was caressing him, unbuttoning his shirt one by one.

Albert was startled and grabbed Violet's hand, looking shocked, "Violet?"

Violet gazed at him with misty eyes.

Albert blinked hard, confirming that the woman in front of him was not Yvette, but Violet.

The fleeting happiness he felt earlier vanished instantly.

Albert slowly sat up, looking at Violet's half-unbuttoned shirt and the softness of her chest, understanding everything.

His eyes darkened, and he rubbed his temples, his post-drinking voice hoarse. "Don't degrade yourself. You're not that kind of girl."

Violet, half-kneeling on the bed with her clothes half undone, was rejected, something a proud woman couldn't accept.

She bit her lip, unwillingly asking a question she had always wanted to ask but never dared.

"Albert, have you fallen in love with Yvette?"
