Chapter 445 My Birthday Party, Will You Come?
Yvette's eyes flickered as she made up her mind. She placed the photo in the drawer and left the room.
Her steps were firm, but her eyes held a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
She hoped that when Albert saw the photo, he would believe that BoBo and CiCi were his children. But she was also afraid that if Albert didn't believe this last piece of evidence, she would have no other options left.
Taking a deep breath, Yvette clenched her fists tightly.
When Yvette reached the living room, Albert was just coming back with BoBo and CiCi.
The housekeeper took the kids to wash their hands. Yvette walked towards Albert, but saw him suddenly pick up his coat from the sofa and drape it over his arm.
"Heading out?" Yvette asked, stopping in her tracks.
"Yeah." Albert adjusted his cufflinks, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "Why?"
"I need to talk to you," Yvette said, pressing her lips together.
"Sorry, I have a meeting." Albert pointed to his watch, indicating he was in a hurry. "It's a last-minute thing. I'll be back later."
"Got it." Yvette lowered her gaze. "We can talk when you get back."
"Okay."
Albert seemed to be in a rush and left quickly.
Yvette watched Albert's retreating figure, feeling a swirl of complex emotions.
BoBo and CiCi came out of the bathroom, excitedly telling Yvette about the fun they had with Albert in the yard.
Yvette's thoughts were interrupted, and the vague premonition she had felt disappeared. She decided to put her thoughts aside for now.
Since Albert had a meeting, she would tell him later.
At the Hayes Mansion, Clifford's sudden conversation caught Ingrid off guard.
Clifford had always been distant, rarely willing to talk to her, and had even blocked her contact at one point.
It seemed Clifford really liked kids, given his interest in her family's children!
Ingrid didn't want to miss this opportunity. She quickly explained, "Actually, Albert and Yvette's relationship is pretty ordinary. The two kids..."
She paused, deciding not to tell Clifford about their complicated family dynamics to avoid any bias.
She smiled. "The two kids are well-behaved and very cute! Niamh knows them too, right?"
Niamh nodded and looked at Clifford. "Uncle, they're the boy and girl twins we saw at the kindergarten gate. The brother is BoBo, and the sister is CiCi."
"I know." Clifford's lips curved slightly, his eyes deep with thought. "They are very cute."
"I didn't know you liked kids so much," Ingrid said, testing the waters. "Do you want a boy or a girl in the future? Or maybe a pair of boy and girl twins?"
Clifford frowned. "Niamh, go wash your hands. It's almost time to eat."
Seeing Clifford send Niamh away, Ingrid became even more excited. She leaned closer to Clifford. "Clifford, I have some videos of the kids. If you think they're cute, I can send them to you!"
Clifford frowned slightly but thought that Yvette might appear in the videos. He nodded. "Okay."
"But first, you need to unblock me!" Ingrid blinked. "Otherwise, I can't send them."
Clifford knew that once Ingrid was back on his contact list, she would bombard him with messages.
But after a moment's hesitation, he took out his phone. "Done."
Just then, Anais approached. "Clifford, the layout for your birthday party is ready. Can you check it later?"
Clifford's expression darkened with impatience. "You and Mom can decide on these small matters."
After all, the Hayes family's birthday parties were never really for the person but for business.
Speaking of the birthday party, a flicker of emotion crossed Clifford's deep eyes. He turned to Ingrid. "Will you come to my birthday party?"
Ingrid was stunned. She hadn't expected Clifford to invite her personally. "Of course! How could I miss your birthday party? I've already prepared your gift!"
"Thank you," Clifford said in a low voice. "Why don't you invite the boy and girl twins too? Niamh will be happier with friends to play with."
An unexpected guest arrived at the house.
When Yvette opened the door, Ingrid was standing there with a bunch of gifts.
"Hi, Ingrid."
Yvette paused, looking at her with suspicion and a hint of wariness. "What's up?"
"Ingrid, I'm here to apologize." Ingrid looked up at her. "Aren't you going to let me in, Yvette?"
Ingrid's friendly attitude made Yvette suspicious.
Last time, her mother had pressured her, and she had been reluctant to apologize. She had even called David over in front of the Valdemar family to embarrass her.
Yvette snorted coldly. "I don't dare. Last time you said you wanted to apologize..."
Before Yvette could finish, Ingrid quickly apologized. "I was immature then. I've thought it through now. Since you're Albert's wife, we're family. You're my sister-in-law!"
With that, Ingrid pushed past Yvette, carrying the gifts inside.
Yvette frowned, about to stop her, but Ingrid had already walked in.
Ingrid placed the gifts on the sofa just as BoBo and CiCi ran out to play. They looked at Ingrid curiously.
Ingrid's eyes lit up. She quickly took out her phone and started filming the kids. "Hey, sweeties, come meet your aunt."
Yvette stepped in front of Ingrid's phone, her voice stern. "Ingrid, what are you doing?"
Ingrid was annoyed at being interrupted.
Since Clifford had unblocked her, the only time he responded was to ask for videos of BoBo and CiCi. But she had a strained relationship with Albert and an even worse one with Yvette, so where would she get videos of the kids?
Ingrid had no choice but to bring gifts, apologize, and invite the kids to Clifford's birthday party, hoping to film some videos.
She hadn't expected Yvette to stop her from filming.
"I just think the kids are cute. Is it too much to ask to film a little?"
