Chapter 252 Yvette Delivers Documents to Albert

She went through recipes, picturing herself starting a conversation while they ate the food she made.

Cheryl's pep talk gave Yvette the guts to share her thoughts with Albert.

While Yvette was hunting for recipes, Vincent showed up at the Valdemar house.

Vincent headed straight to Yvette and said, "Hey, Mr. Valdemar forgot a document. I need to grab it from the study."

"Sure thing." Yvette led Vincent in, watching him rummage through Albert's file cabinet until he found what he needed.

Vincent held up the document. "Got it. Thanks, Mrs. Valdemar."

"No problem."

As they were leaving the study, Vincent's phone suddenly rang.

Vincent stopped and answered, his face tightening. "What? But I gotta get this document to Mr. Valdemar pronto."

Listening to the frantic voice on the other end, Vincent replied, clearly annoyed, "Mr. Valdemar is rushing to a meeting. The project that was already checked has issues; you need to figure it out first."

Yvette, standing nearby, had a pretty good idea of what was going on.

Albert needed Vincent to deliver a document, but another project had problems that needed Vincent's attention, and he couldn't do both.

Yvette thought for a moment and came up with an idea.

Vincent said, "I'll figure something out."

After hanging up, Vincent, still worried, knew the confidential document couldn't be given to just anyone, wary of potential repercussions.

With the other project facing issues and Albert's crucial meeting looming, Vincent had to address the situation.

In his anxiety, Yvette suddenly spoke up, "How about I deliver the document?"

Vincent asked cautiously, "Can you?"

"Of course." Yvette nodded. "I'll keep it safe."

Vincent was relieved. Besides Yvette, he wouldn't trust anyone else to deliver the document.

He quickly nodded. "If you're willing to help me out, I'd really appreciate it."

"I'll do it." Yvette took the document and held it close. "I'll make sure it gets there safely."

"Thank you, Mrs. Valdemar."

Following Vincent's instructions, Yvette brought the document to the entrance of the Valdemar Group's exclusive conference hall.

The conference hall was packed, and everyone had a work badge on their chest, except Yvette.

Yvette peeked into the conference hall a few times but didn't see Albert.

A security guard, Arthur Carter, came over. "What are you here for? Where's your work badge?"

Yvette showed him the document and explained, "I'm here to deliver a document to Mr. Valdemar."

Security Arthur waved his hand. "No badge, no entry. Give it to me, and I'll deliver it for you."

"This document needs to be handed to Mr. Valdemar personally," Yvette said seriously.

Security Arthur quickly shook his head. "No, you can't go in."

Yvette felt a bit embarrassed, but to make sure the document got to Albert, she said, "I'm Mr. Valdemar's wife. I won't disturb the meeting. I'll leave right after delivering it."

Security Arthur shook his head. "I can't just let you in like that."

Understanding the strict security for big meetings, Yvette didn't want to make things tough for Security Arthur. Feeling awkward, she was debating whether to call Vincent or Albert to come and get the document when a group of people walked in.

Not wanting to block their way, Yvette quickly stepped aside, turning her back to the group and pulling out her phone.

Albert, surrounded by people, was heading towards the conference hall, listening closely to a report on the meeting.

As he listened, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye. He paused, looking somewhat surprised to see Yvette there.

With just one glance, Albert was ushered into the conference hall by the people behind him.

The manager, Eugene Baker, who had been standing next to Albert, also stopped, following Albert's gaze to see a woman standing nearby, pretending to fiddle with her phone while glancing into the conference hall.

Eugene was startled, thinking a stranger had snuck in and been spotted by Albert. Fearing Albert would blame him, he instructed someone to take Albert inside while he reprimanded, "What's going on? How can just anyone be let in?"

The security felt a bit wronged and explained, "I haven't let her in yet. She said she's Mr. Valdemar's wife."

Eugene glanced disdainfully at Yvette's back. "Always folks trying to pass off as Mrs. Valdemar. Should we just let 'em all in?"

Security Arthur sighed. "Alright."

He walked up to Yvette. "Sorry, you really can't go in."

Yvette was anxious. Despite multiple attempts, Albert and Vincent were both MIA. Recognizing the document's significance, if she couldn't pass it to Albert directly, it was best for Vincent to handle the delivery.

The security watched Yvette, urging, "Please leave quickly, or I'll be in a difficult position."

Yvette felt many eyes on her, her back breaking out in a cold sweat, and the embarrassment growing.

Yvette reiterated, "This doc's a big deal. Vincent tasked me with it. Gotta hand it to Mr. Valdemar myself. If I can't get in, can I at least reach Mr. Valdemar here?"

"Nah, I got this. I'll do the drop-off for ya."

"No, you can't." Yvette grew more anxious, trying to explain when Eugene walked over.

"Miss, I'm sorry, but this meeting is too important. We can't afford any mistakes. Please support our work," Eugene said with a fake smile, looking Yvette up and down. "Too many people pretend to be Mrs. Valdemar. We can't just take your word for it."

Yvette knew Mr. Baker was mocking her. She glanced at her phone, hoping Albert would notice her missed calls, but there was no response.

Biting her lip, Yvette remembered she had a photo of their marriage certificate on her phone, taken for some paperwork.

She was about to show it when a deep voice sounded at the conference hall entrance. "Yvette."

Yvette froze, looking up towards the voice. Albert stood at the door, looking at her intently.

Security Arthur and Eugene were both astonished.

Albert said, "Come in and wait for me."
