Chapter 491 Where is Yvette?

Bathed in sunlight, Albert sat in his office, golden rays streaming onto his slender fingers, making them look like delicate porcelain as they danced across the keyboard.

He exuded a profound, icy aura, like a snow-capped mountain standing aloof from the sun's warmth.

This coldness formed an invisible barrier, holding the chaos and pain of the world at a distance.

Suddenly, a knock on the office door interrupted Albert's thoughts.

Albert looked up, his gaze sharp. "Come in."

Vincent strode up to Albert, his expression slightly weary, but the focus and seriousness in his eyes were unmistakable.

Vincent nodded slightly and reported in a low voice, "Mr. Valdemar, after extensive investigation, we've finally discovered the place the Hayes couple has been secretly visiting."

Albert's eyes showed a hint of approval as he looked at Vincent.

Vincent continued, "It's a hospital located within a private villa."

This news took Albert by surprise, and he frowned slightly, a complex emotion rising within him.

He pondered for a moment, then nodded, signaling Vincent to continue.

"The investigation was tough, but there's no such thing as a perfect cover-up. They couldn't hide from our people," Vincent paused. "They've been going there frequently ever since Mrs. Valdemar and Mr. Clifford Hayes's accident."

"A hospital in a private villa? Are you sure?" Albert frowned.

Vincent nodded affirmatively, "Yes, the place the Hayes couple has been driving to with different drivers is indeed there. It's very secluded. It looks just like a private villa, with no obvious signs or known name. But it's a hospital."

A private hospital.

Albert's eyes flashed with surprise, quickly replaced by excitement.

Yvette and Clifford had disappeared without a trace, and the Hayes couple frequently visited a secretive private hospital. It was highly likely that Yvette was inside!

As long as she was receiving treatment in the hospital, it meant she wasn't dead!

Albert's eyes held a hidden surge of emotion, like finding a ray of hope in the darkness.

He immediately stood up, straightened his collar, and grabbed the car keys from his desk. "Alright, let's head out right away."

This clue had been incredibly difficult to uncover.

He walked briskly towards the door, each step filled with determination. He felt his blood boiling, his heart pounding heavily in his chest.

"Mr. Valdemar, the car is ready, and I've already given the location. We can leave directly," Vincent said.

Albert quickened his pace, "Let's go!"

The car drove smoothly yet swiftly to the private villa hospital.

Albert's arrival seemed to make everyone extremely nervous, with almost everyone facing him with trepidation.

Their behavior deepened Albert's suspicions.

He didn't trust his subordinates to investigate, so he personally searched every corner of the private villa.

Every room, every corner, he meticulously searched, but he couldn't find any trace of Yvette.

A cloud of doubt hung over Albert's mind, giving him a bad feeling.

At that moment, Vincent, who had been searching separately, suddenly ran over, panting.

"Mr. Valdemar."

Albert's expression was grave. "Did you find her?"

"No," Vincent paused, seeing the light in Albert's eyes dim. He continued, "But I found Mrs. Hayes."

Albert's eyes narrowed. "Take me to her."

Albert followed Vincent to a more secluded room.

Pushing open the door, Gabrielle lay on the bed, looking embarrassed.

Albert walked straight to Gabrielle, standing by her bedside, looking down at her. "Where is she?"

Gabrielle looked up, surprised at Albert. "What?"

Albert's expression was accusatory, his gaze cold. "Where is Yvette?"

Gabrielle looked troubled. "Mr. Valdemar, don't you think it's absurd to come here and ask me about your wife?"

Vincent, usually calm, was a bit annoyed. "Mrs. Hayes, since we've found this place, you should understand that we've uncovered everything. Are you still going to be stubborn?"

Gabrielle's face showed some panic. "But... I really don't know! I'm surprised you found this place. But I'm here just to treat my own illness!"

Albert's face darkened further, not believing her words.

Seeing his disdainful expression, Gabrielle took out a stack of medical records from the bedside table.

"I didn't want to say anything because coming to such a secluded private hospital means I don't want anyone to know." Gabrielle's eyes welled up with tears. "Clifford's condition is dire... The Hayes family may not be as wealthy as the Valdemar family, but we still have some assets. If Clifford is gone, the Hayes family can't be without an heir! I'm older now, and if I want to have another child, I can only come to this hospital for help..."

Albert was stunned, and Vincent was visibly confused.

The two exchanged puzzled looks, and Vincent took the stack of medical records to examine.

It turned out to be a series of tests Gabrielle had undergone for a late-age pregnancy.

Seeing their expressions change, Gabrielle sighed deeply. "I know you think this is ridiculous, and I know it's embarrassing. That's why my husband and I have been secretly coming here for treatment. I didn't expect... you to follow us here."

With that, Gabrielle lowered her head and began to cry.

Vincent gently placed the medical records back on the bedside table and looked at Albert questioningly.

Albert frowned slightly, then turned and left the room with Vincent.

In the smoothly moving car, Albert sat by the window, gazing at the scenery outside.

His expression was somber, as if shrouded in a heavy fog, making it impossible to discern his inner emotions.

His hand rested on the window ledge, his fingers tapping unconsciously. The reflective glass showed his slightly pale face.

Before coming here, he had thought he would definitely find her this time and bring her back to him and the children.

But it was another disappointment.

Albert's rigid jawline seemed to scream despair and cold anger.

Watching the scenery speed by outside the window, Albert narrowed his eyes, his deep gaze filled with turmoil.

Everything was too confusing.

The unedited surveillance footage, Gabrielle's genuine medical records, all seemed to indicate that Yvette was truly not in the Hayes family's hands.

Could it be that Felix and Gabrielle were telling the truth?
