Chapter 359 Changing Attitude
Albert's indifference instantly shattered Violet's psychological defenses.
He called her a liar, but she didn't know at the time that his girl was also at their school. She was just hopeful he would love her.
Violet's eyes were slightly red. "Albert, I just talked to Yvette for a bit, do you really need to treat me like this? Do you not care at all about our years of feelings?"
"There's no need to bring this up, we've already made things clear." Albert stood up. "This is the last time I'll meet you alone. If this happens again, don't blame me for not warning you."
After saying that, Albert ignored Violet's nearly collapsing expression and turned to leave.
It wasn't until his figure disappeared from Violet's sight that she finally clutched her stomach, gasping for breath, trying to calm her emotions.
She thought that everything that had happened over the years had made her strong enough, but she didn't expect Albert could still easily stir her emotions.
She closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down.
Violet knew that Rodolfo had always had people watching her, so when Albert suggested meeting, she was also worried that Rodolfo would find out.
So she simply arranged to meet Albert at a hotel under the Morgan Group, so even if they were discovered, she would have a legitimate reason to explain.
Violet closed her eyes to sort out her emotions, unable to show them or she'd be left without explanation later. Suddenly, she felt someone sit down in front of her. Frowning, she opened her eyes.
Rebecca looked smug, as if she had some important information, her expression proud. "I knew you didn't love my dad."
Violet had always been at odds with this "stepdaughter," and their meetings were always tense. She always kept her distance, not wanting to cause more trouble.
She frowned, pursed her lips, and said nothing.
Rebecca raised an eyebrow, speaking with a hidden meaning, "It seems the person you like is Albert?"
Violet's expression paused, knowing that Rebecca had overheard her conversation with Albert. "What does it have to do with you?"
"Of course it has to do with me." Rebecca smiled. "What do you think will happen if my dad finds out?"
"There's hardly anyone in Luken who doesn't know about me and Albert." Violet shrugged indifferently. "But Rodolfo knows best what state I was in when I was with him. Other people's provocations mean nothing."
Rodolfo had also minded her relationship with Albert at first, but when he discovered she was a virgin and gave herself to him, these things no longer threatened her.
"Who says it means nothing?" Rebecca looked at her provocatively. "The past is the past, but now you're pregnant and still meeting Albert alone, even reminiscing about your past feelings. Do you think my dad is really that magnanimous?"
"Since you know I'm carrying the Morgan Family's heir, are you still planning to do such thankless provocations?" Violet sneered. "I'm carrying his child, do you think he would do anything to me just because I talked to Albert?"
Violet's tone was arrogant, completely unconcerned about Rebecca tattling.
Rebecca had been confident she could exploit Violet's weakness, but Violet's indifference only fueled her anger.
Rebecca raised her voice discontentedly. "Violet, don't you have any shame? Don't think that just because you're pregnant, you can do whatever you want."
Violet's eyes narrowed, and her previously cold expression suddenly became pitiful.
Her voice was soft, with a hint of admiration and sentiment. "It's not that I'm reckless because I'm pregnant, it's that I understand Rodolfo. A man as excellent and mature as Rodolfo wouldn't care about the boys I liked during my teenage years."
Rebecca was stunned, caught off guard by Violet's sudden change in attitude.
Violet smiled gently, looking very graceful. "Before I met Rodolfo, I also thought that was love and did many irrational things. But now I understand, those were just immature feelings from my youth. What I like is someone like Rodolfo, a true strong man."
Rebecca felt a wave of nausea listening to Violet's high-sounding words.
About to curse, she spotted the man they were talking about walking over. Rebecca's anger instantly turned to disdain. No wonder Violet changed her tone—Rodolfo had arrived.
Recently, because of Violet's acting, Rodolfo had become increasingly displeased with her, even going so far as to kick her out of a charity auction in front of many high-society elites, making her lose face.
Her mother was right, if she continued to make trouble, she would only push her father away, towards this vile woman and her unborn child.
Rebecca had been an only child for so many years, her parents' relationship was good, and she never thought she would one day face such a situation.
But since it had come to this, she had to start learning to change.
She had to admit, Violet's act of showing weakness worked well on Rodolfo.
Rebecca gritted her teeth. "I just hope you don't betray my dad! My dad is the best dad in the world, even if he wronged my mom, he's still my father. Since you're carrying his child, you can't hurt him!"
Violet didn't expect Rebecca to suddenly change her attitude, and she was stunned.
As they spoke, Rodolfo had already walked up to them.
Facing this version of Rebecca, Violet didn't dare to act rashly. She just looked at Rodolfo and took his arm. "Rodolfo, you're here."
She glanced at Rebecca and bit her lip. "Rebecca is here."
Rebecca saw that Violet was about to stir things up again, so she took the initiative. "Dad, I'm not here to cause trouble, I'm here to apologize. I've reflected a lot since I got back, I shouldn't have made you and... Violet lose face in front of so many people. I'm sorry, Dad, I'm sorry, Violet."
Hearing this, Violet was taken aback.
When she looked up at Rodolfo, the flash of pity in his eyes clearly showed that he bought it. A trace of unwillingness rose in Violet's eyes.
Rodolfo looked at Rebecca, his tone still stern. "You came just to apologize?"
"Dad." Rebecca's eyes turned red, filling with tears. She said "guiltily", "Dad, I'm really not here to cause trouble, don't drive me away. I... I know I was wrong. All these years, you've worked so hard for the Morgan Family, you should have the right to choose who you love. I'm sorry, I was too extreme. You love me so much, but I couldn't even respect your love."
Rebecca cried very convincingly. "You must be very disappointed in me...I..."
