Chapter 313 Did They Make Love Last Night?
Albert's breath hitched as the water in the tub kept rising. Frustrated by his silence, Yvette yanked on his collar. Her thick hair spread out in the water like seaweed, swaying with the ripples.
Her forehead, cheeks, and neck were all covered with wet hair, making her look even more irresistible.
"Albert, hold me, hold me."
Yvette's words were slurred, her expression dazed, like she was drunk, determined to get what she wanted.
Albert's muscles were tense; her look was seductive, and her movements even more so.
Albert's Adam's apple bobbed subtly as he leaned against the tub wall, veins protruding on his hands gripping the sides.
Albert's emotions were tumultuous. He hoped to coax her into revealing her identity, but he hadn't anticipated that her "missing you" simply meant she desired him physically.
Yvette's kisses landed all over his nose, lips, and chin.
Her warm breath brushed against Albert's nose, sending shivers through him.
"Albert, how can you be so heartless?" Yvette said playfully. "Don't you miss me?"
"Yvette, look at me." Albert's deep voice was hoarse. "I am Albert."
"I know," Yvette said impatiently. "I'm not stupid!"
"Yeah, not stupid." Albert raised his hand, touching Yvette's wet cheek. "Is it me you want?"
Albert gazed at Yvette, his deep eyes filled with turbulent emotions.
Yvette's cool lips landed on Albert's Adam's apple. "Yes, I want you, I like you."
Albert's whole body stiffened, his dark eyes revealing his swirling emotions.
During Yvette's absence, Albert often reminisced about their past. Her love was evident in every gesture, word, and look. When she expressed that she "liked you," it brought him overwhelming joy. At that instant, Albert realized she had indeed returned.
"I missed you too," Albert said hoarsely, but with deep emotion. "I really missed you."
Yvette didn't want to hear more. She impatiently reached out to pull him. "Then hurry up."
Feeling Yvette's soft, boneless hands constantly caressing him, Albert finally decided not to give her a chance to regret.
He grasped her wet chin with one hand, his fingertips gently stroking the soft skin of her cheek.
"I'll give you everything you want."
Albert, like a leopard that had been lying in wait, was ready to pounce.
The showerhead lay in the tub, spraying water that cascaded over the edge, flooding the bathroom floor.
Tonight felt unusually dark. A thick fog enveloped the city, making it pitch black. Dim streetlights struggled to cut through the gloom, casting only faint patches of light on the road.
It was already the dead of night, and even the busiest streets were empty.
A black car suddenly broke the silence, roaring through the deep night.
The moon and stars above were completely hidden by the night.
In the car, David's face turned ashen as he tightly pressed his lips together, the fury inside him crashing through his chest.
David's eyes were bloodshot as he gripped the steering wheel, the gas pedal almost to the floor.
He'd been searching for Yvette for hours in the dead of night.
Just then, his phone rang, startlingly loud in the quiet.
David answered. "Speak."
The person on the other end hesitated, clearly intimidated by his anger. "Sorry, Mr. Valdemar."
They hadn't found her.
David's suppressed anger and hatred surged, overwhelming him. His heart clenched, eyes blazing with fury. Pounding the steering wheel, the horn's sharp blare echoed down the road.
"Useless! Keep looking!" David cursed. "Are you an idiot? Go to Albert's territory!"
"Yes, sir. Since Mrs. Valdemar doesn't know anyone in Luken, we have fewer leads to pursue."
Filled with rage, David yelled, "Are you stupid? Go to Albert's turf!"
"It's tough in Albert's turf," the man nervously replied. "We can't even access it, let alone investigate."
"Fool, find all his property addresses!"
With that, David suddenly slammed on the brakes. He decisively turned the wheel, making a U-turn. "I'll go myself."
After a fruitless night of searching, David, frustrated by others' incompetence, decided to take matters into his own hands. His eyes bloodshot, he was determined to find Yvette.
Yvette felt increasingly exhausted, as if something heavy was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe.
Trapped in a nightmare, she felt only fear but didn't know what she was dreaming about.
Struggling to wake up, Yvette felt completely drained, her limbs numb.
As her consciousness returned, she felt her throat dry and parched. Yvette instinctively furrowed her brows, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
Yvette finally woke up, slowly opening her eyes, a hint of confusion on her face.
This wasn't the Valdemar Family; it was Albert's house. The familiar surroundings flooded Yvette's mind with memories.
Though distant, the memories felt fresh, scenes of her and him being intimate in this room, on this bed.
Yvette's back prickled with goosebumps. She felt both shocked and ashamed, a blush spreading from her cheeks to her ears.
Why was she here?
What had happened yesterday?
Struggling to remember, Yvette recalled drinking the drugged water David gave her and going downstairs for documents the previous night.
Feeling unwell shortly after, she had seen Albert in a blur.
After that, she seemed to have lost consciousness, that part of her memory completely blank.
Yvette moved slightly, the soreness unbearable, making her groan softly.
Anxiously, she lifted the blanket and found her clothes intact, clean, and tidy. Yet, the soreness in her lower abdomen left Yvette momentarily confused. Had they been intimate the previous night?
